deaa, you would be better addressing your query to Dr Kathyekiti on the ObGyn thread. She would be in an excellent position to reply to your problem |

I hope the moderator is not moderating advice given by myself, naijaking or kathyekiti. If this happens you will get the sort of rubbish going on between oyinda and C2H5OH. A lot of nairalanders have benefited from our advice over the last couple of years |
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Balogun(m): 12:01pm On Jul 14, 2009 |
Oyinda and C2H5OH, without sounding rude, I suggest you have your conversation on a suitable thread or MSN. |

ab1989, I think what you need is a physician to diagnose whatever your problem is. How do you know your blood pressure goes up. Do you check it yourself. See a physician and let them take it from there. There might be a few docs who live and work in Ikeja area. I am based in Scotland so I can´t help you on that |

Are you having unprotected sex Oluwawunmi. If so have you done a pregnancy test. Most of this queries are best referred to Dr Kathy on the ObGyn thread of Doctor in the House |

manmustwac, your girlfriend´s sister needs to see someone competent! Dr Kathy might be able to shed light on to this. There must have been a perforation in the bowel after surgery or she has adhesions following surgery. Needs more investigations |

Dont seem to understand what you mean by foaming in your urine, vindylomo!!! As your own physician has seen it and not concerned I would probably leave it there. Doctorfit, thanks for your support |

Long time NubianQ! Always exclude any other cause for headaches before labelling it migraine. If its something you have always suffered from then see your GP for appropriate medication. Most peoples headaches are from dehydration. We dont drink enough water as a rule |

Kingolaola, as far as dandruff is concerned, proper medicated shampoo usually helps that. High uric acid can lead to uric acid stones in the kidneys. They sometimes don´t show up on xray. You might need a CT KUB. This could also cause gout affecting your joints usually the big toe |

Emeritus153, headaches that are sudden or you dont normally get needs proper investigations. As an emergency physician, I always start by doing a CTScan of the head. If that is negative see a neurologist |

kingsaf, we try not to go for promotions for things on this particular thread. You may have noticed the docs here give advice for free and not any site promotions. Start a thread for your own promotions, others have!!!! |

Holiday time for me good people. Nigerians as a general rule dont seem to take holidays for some unknown reason. Health advice to all Nairalanders, take a week off at least once every 6 months where all you do is lie by the beach in some hotel and enjoy recreative activities. The life we have is too short to run around non stop. |

Kehnie, need to know what sort of discharge you are getting from your breast and its relationship to your cycle. How old you are also makes a difference |

Troynow, are you talking about development of facial hair or voice problem. Or is it just that you look young for your age. I am happy to say I look young for my age and glad about it!! |

Piles, haemorrhoids are sometimes debilitating for people. Treatments starts with good diet that has fibre. Straining is not too good. Best person to see is a colorectal surgeon who does enough of these. The options include injections, banding and finally surgery. Complications of surgery could include incontinence, so think carefully about it and choose your surgeon wisely!!! |

Bodjetstar, I wish you best in your future to become a medical doctor. Speaking for myself and I am sure the other doctors that give their spare time for the threads here, I doubt very much if there is enough time in a week to blog. Thanks for the thought. |
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Balogun(m): 4:00pm On Jun 21, 2009 |
vinvinonyi, I have dealt with this problem several times. Its all psychological. You need to be comfortable with your partner and both of you need to discuss the problem. That is always a good start. |

There is nothing wrong with a pregnant woman breast feeding. As long as you are not too tired or dehydrated from it. You can breast feed as long as you want. The only thing that stops women is convention and advertising by powdered milk companies. I am a great advocate for breast feeding and might be worthwhile checking La Leche league |

Airvision, I suggest you obtain the appropriate prescription from whoever made the diagnosis |

Don faszy, no matter how many times you ask the same question on different threads you will get the same answer. I notice your question is on about 4 or 5 different threads |

By the way septrin ( co-trimoxazole) wouldn't be my first line of treatment. Important therefore to consult a specialist. Treatment with wrong antibiotic might not get rid of STD assuming that is what it is, but get rid of some of the signs your friend is exhibiting |
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Balogun(m): 8:35pm On Jun 15, 2009 |
Don faszy, always best to seek a genitourinary specialist for this and make sure your friend and girlfriend provide proper contact list to the doctor |

Kathy and Naijaking. My visit will probably be around the 19th October for about 1 week. Trying to book a place on 5th Avenue. Better than last time when I was there for only 3 days. Gives me chance to look around more. Will be nice to take you great docs to dinner and like I said we can put right all the wrongs of the world |

C2H5OH, before I venture into treating people I like to have appropriate tests. Depends on where you are based. Access to MRI will tell you how badly damaged your ligament is and whether it needs surgery. Good ultrasonographers can interpret the same. See a plastic or orthopaedic surgeon with interest in hand surgery or someone who is a specialist hand surgeon. |

topheal, it is unusual to be passing blood each time pass urine. You need to be seen by a urologist. Do you have history of tuberculosis |

Oyinda, glad you are able to read google! Worked that out, as the problem C2H5OH has to his thumb is ulna collateral ligament injury. Try and leave the medical answers to the doctors. |
