The first statement you made is only correct SOMETIMES because in many instances a woman's initial rejection is a TEST to see whether the man is willing to persevere and keep up the pursuit so as to eventually succeed in winning her heart over the long run. The more persistent a man is to woo any particular woman, the more likely it is that he values her beyond mere sex, and will STAY with her even after she does the slip-and-slide with him a few times.
