You c Also, I laff at people using Blue band butter to bake cheesy cheesy
Stop laughing at us o. For those of us who bake only once in a blue moon, we lay our hands on whatever is available when the inspiration comes especially since it's usually for personal consumption.

You can use open market oil, just ensure it doesn't have any funny taste or smell. I've used local oil once, but most time, I used Golden Penny soy oil or power oil.

Ok. Thanks

Thanks for the response. Which type of oil did you use please?

Good evening everyone. Pls has anyone tried baking with oil instead of butter? I've seen several recipies but I'm not sure which kind of oil would be apt. Just wandering if the vegetable oil we get from the open market here can be used. Thanks

So do you enjoy cold noodles?
Once it's cold, I can't eat it again. Infact it becomes disgusting.

lolz, you can't win the case even if you take it to heaven. You can only persuade the man to release some of the properties. Using force will not work cos as a next of Kin, he's the sole ownership of everything
This position is not true being next of kin does not confer automatic ownership on him

Where are you based? Ask around you surely find one. Or if you are resident in your state capital just got to the Ministry of Justice in your state Secretariat, you'll be able to get it done there.

pls lawyers in the house, is there any other way i can do affidavit apart frm going to court...thanks in advance
Go to Ministry of Justice in your state Secretariat. They are not on strike. Also depending on the nature of affidavit you want to do, you can go a Customary Court and get it done.

That is how one lawyer was arguing with me in 2018 that Lawyers have more relevance than Doctors.
Imagine say lawyers dey strike since and no one is even aware. But make doctors go for one day, ppl for Nairaland go dey self-service upandan
Lawyers are not on strike, the judiciary is. There's a difference.

I am trying to too.
It is truly difficult because that's what one is brought up with and also used to.
Sometimes I pull it off. I had to just reduce the quantity I use to just one cube for a pot of soup ...
I agree with you our taste buds are accustomed to msg and cooking without it needs some adjusting to. I know some of our Grandmas cooked without msg. They used local seasonings and made delicious meals.

I remember discussing this issue with Onegai sometime ago and she mentioned certain herbs she uses in place of msg but it's been long I saw her on nairaland, I wonder where she is.

I believe reducing usage gradually is helpful rather than trying to do it at once.
FoodHas Anyone Been Able To Do Away With Msg/bullion Cubes In Cooking? by barag(op): 12:01pm On Oct 28, 2020
Good day. I've been wondering if it is possible to completely do away with msg/bullion cubes while cooking. I've tried several times but I've only succeeded in reducing but not completely stopped using bullion cubes.

Some people no longer use bullion cubes. If you are in this category pls tell us how you achieved it.

I know there are natural spices people use like ginger, thyme, garlic tumeric and a whole lot more.
Pls share your experience and let's know
