Hi everyone, kindly find the link of our protest today in the Nigerian embassy in UK...kindly share for the right thing to be done by NDDC management. It was meant to be a scholarship and not 'suffership'......Thank you

Even If $30k is reduced to $15k, nobody here can discourage me. #I have made up my to join Nigerians who are overcoming challenges overseas

Sometimes we need to be careful of what we are bargaining for.You might not really understand until you are forced to work even a night before your exam and in the middle of course work deadline.Challenges are better understood when faced.I was silent over this issue so that it wont affect your approach to the NDDC test.Meanwhile, this changed when someone asked me to confirm what was posted here.It is just that it is not easy as we think as at times u can get two shifts of 8 and 9hours(17hours) weekly. You might not go for the 3hours remaining for the week cos u might just spend 1hour money on transport.I have not discouraged anybody here, rather just saying the reality. However, the fight we are fighting is for things to be done rightly. It will also benefit you guys.Sincerely,it does not make sense to allow someone to pass through the same thing u have passed through when you can make a difference. They started by staying four months(which in my opinion is equally wrong) in previous sets. Now,people have stayed as much as 11months without a damn.It defeats the purpose of the scholarship when people do not do well cos of something that is avoidable.Lets face it,when do they want the 2016 scholars to start school? Most U.S schools have resumed and U.K schools will soon resume. You need ATAS for some of the courses in the UK and these takes a few weeks. The answer is obvious, they want the status quo to remain...We have chosen not to be silent in the face of unprecedented and worst form of oppression-internal oppression.

Unu do'oooh
Well done.

The part cannot understand is where they said payments are to be made through the CBN. Are scholars not meant to be priority?
Shameful is an understatement!

To all the scholars out there, please take solace in the fact that the country is so much worse at the moment!
Stay strong out there & try to remain there legally. Nigeria is no functioning now oh! Hunger in the land and food is double the prices you left it at last year/January.
He who has ears let him hear...

As I speak to you they have not authorised CBN to pay us.They talk about forex and I ask if they also need forex to pay people their 500k travel allowance into their Nigerian account? They have our e-mails since over a year, why are they sending apology mail just yesterday? The answer is that they heard of our planned protest. What is more disheartening is that they also want to send people here to suffer the same thing.why will you turn scholarship to 'suffership'..The questions begging for answers are just too many.

We remain resolute even in this extremely difficult situation. Our parents can hardly send us money because most of us are from indigent homes and the value of the naira to the GBP is at unprecedented rate.Let it be on record that they have not ever mentioned about not having money,we do hear that they will pay 'soon'(I think this word needs to be revisited) since march this year.

Just help give it the publicity...Thank you all

This is a horrible experience that I will not wish even my enemies. You are supposed to be on scholarship....study hard, enjoy the luxury of a decent living whilst studying and make your country proud. How can you be proud of a country with insensitive leaders?
The budget was passed months ago, NDDC allocation FULLY paid to the commission yet this harrowing experience. When they say we are from the DARK continent, many think we are being slighted unjustly.
How can you send out someone who probably is travelling to a foreign land for the very first time with no form of ties there without ANY financial assistance? If this is not a form of militancy attack, can someone explain this gory and inhumane act to me please?
When you get sponsorship from say PTDF, commonwealth, Chevening.....you feel very ashamed to tell people you didn't graduate as the best in your class!
PTDF will first invite you to an induction in ABJ, accommodation and feeding all paid for. You are taken to the embassy and treated as an ambassador of your country. You get called to come pick your visa for onward journey to your study destination..
You are given allowance for laptop and warm outfits. You are paid some months of maintenance upfront.....all in Nigeria BEFORE you travel. You open an account once you settle in and send details to PTDF..... your maintenance is paid ALWAYS on time! More than enough which will enable you focus on your primary assignment.... read, read and read. You also have enough time to socialise and and network( depending though).....you have enough resources to reach out to others, HOME AND ABROAD(Including fellow students like NDDC SCHOLARS....smh!)
PTDF delegates will come and visit you to know how you are faring( hope that is still the case). You have a decent accommodation and can afford good foods that can keep body and soul together. Most importantly, induce those inactive brain cells that the problems our African leaders seem to have inactivated. Allocation is also made for PhD scholars to attend conferences.
You pick your calls whenever your phone bleeps because you are not indebted to anyone....#landlord #Relation
You sleep in your room and not school library. Some do, not because they want to read all night but because their room ( if they have one, is too COLD FOR COMFORT!).
You can access blackboard( for your course materials and coursework submission) whenever you want and not always running to friends to assist you with their log in details.
My heart bleeds for these innocent victims of our failed system in Nigeria. The hustle is real! Don't give up brothers. Doing a match day work, picking and packing in that factory, looking after that sick old/young/ mentally challenged patient should not discourage you guys.
Many passed through same poo and made it. We have to encourage ourselves if the system deems it VERY fit to work against us.
Do what you have to do and above all try and be happy guys. Have a lot to write but that probably will be in a book for my grandchildren....hopefully.
Some people now think NIGERIA is a failed state....is it not obvious why they reason the way they do?
God bless our country Nigeria......and may the labours of our heroes past never be in vain!

Thanks mate.Seems you were a ptdf scholar and probably schooled in the UK.It is pretty difficult to be here without funds. They left us since and all our efforts to make the media houses publish our story had fallen on deaf ears before now.I am sincerely grateful to Nigeria tribune.NDDC has been used to paying their scholars late (sometimes 4-6months). However, ours is the longest as some have stayed 8months while others since september last year.We have suffered enough. The worst is that our allocation is in 2015 budget and even their 2016 budget have also been approved. They just refused to pay us and keep blaming TSA and forex.Yet PTDF pay theirs and on time. Why we are fighting is for this barbaric act to stop and trust me we wont stop until they do the right thing and possibly justice is served.

I implore you guys to help us by giving it the publicity that it truly deserves through any way you can especially social media.Thank you all.

Lol @ clubbing...
Thanks for the reply. So nddc never pay unu school fees till now? They must have fixed the money & are enjoying the interest on it.
This has to be the only explanation for them to hold back money that has since been approved.

It is well...
Happy Sunday all

Hello, tuition has been paid....@saouri it was in proxy.@diggyreal,it was categorically stated MSC.I am not aware of any probability or possibility.@Nelzone,I have always said that I have fellow scholars in the U.S,canada and the likes.Even if the MSC is for 20years,u are only entitled to 30k USD....6 months is period of validity. You are expected to use it before six months from the time of award. There are so many questions that I have answered. It is just to look at the previous pages.Goodluck

Dear Baresi22,

Are you saying that they did not give you the 500k for visa & transport? Ah Ah...
How unu dey survive oh?
Pls did your school give you the balance of the $30k after deducting school fees amount?

Good evening,...@saouri the 500k was paid around 2months ago. However, some scholars are yet to be paid. You send your school's tuition amount and account details to NDDC,then, they pay the balance(If any) into your private foreign account. That is actually what most of us have been waiting for.The supposedly living expenses. In terms of survival, the maximum to work as a student is 20hours per week for term time..If you work 80hours(most times u cant cos of loads of coursework) in a month times min. wage of 7.2pounds per hour, dat is 576pounds .Rent in less expensive cities is about 240pounds with bills...Remaining 336pounds for transport, feeding, airtime,Clubbing grin etc.Not forgetting 'wahala' from loved ones back home cheesy...Am not trying to scare anybody but that is just the reality.I just wish they can review the scholarship for you guys.Pay all the fees and give scholars at least 1k pounds monthly so that they can learn in peace. @ nairrasea congrats on your visa.I advice you make as much friends as possible who are waiting for the success text too.I told one of my friends that was already in abroad when I heard the person's name on the briefing day.Certainly there are paper works to be done.I do not think anything can stop the scholarship unless you restrain from following it up..

@emeroking,the total was 220(both MSC and PHD).Meanwhile,I do not know the actual figure for each.Having said that,I believe over 70percent went to MSC...Guess I had answered all....

Geobukky hi,I trust u made it to the next stage...I keep praying for you and others. For nddc, anything is possible unless you are referring to a 'new' nddc.We got our award letter on 18th september,2015.However,it was actually signed in july,2015 which shows that their six months 'window period' takes effect from july.I advice that you move on with life.I literally left my success text message for over 30minutes on that day...It will come when it will come...

UK schools will keep calling you until everything is settled. This will be worse now because most Nigerians cant afford their tuition any longer. This is as a result of the dramatic fall of the naira to GBP.Hence, their Nigerian market has reduced considerably and they will tend to disturb the folks that apply to their schools now.

I can see most are optimistic and in high spirits.I wish u guys all the best.

NDDC SCHOLARSHIP : A curse or Blessing?
Scholarship schemes are primarily designed for as a means to reward excellence but when that "reward" brings untold pain and suffering then a lot is left to be desired.
NDDC 2015 batch of scholars are yet to revive their maintenance fee more than 7 months after commencing studies...some are yet to receive tuition fees talkless of maintenance yet a fresh batch of scholars are currently being prepped to come join the suffering band in foreign lands..
Eddie Gordons promised to answer our queries but messages are sent, he reads and ignores them..
The acting MD gave her word that payments will be unfailingly remitted by second week of June..her word obviously is as good as her integrity!! All messages to her such as the one below is ignored ..
If we can't take care of our own what's the essence ? PTDF is another scholarship scheme worth emulating ..
What parent sends her kids out without making provisions for them ?
We have landlord issues...due to unpaid rent, some of us have access issues due to unpaid tuition fees, we have resorted to working as helps at warehouses and other menial jobs to survive while our books suffer.

NDDC....Making a difference?
Your guess is as good good as mine .
Well if you are a prospective NDDC scholar be fore warned so you don't end up confused, angry and dejected like we are due to unpaid fees, unpaid allowances and lack of communication from those who sent us abroad !!!!!!

#COPIED

This is true.I said I will say this later in order not to discourage folks from giving in their best in the process. It is very disheartening to send young minds to a foreign land on a 'supposed' scholarship without giving them a dime for visa application, flight or even money for winter jacket! These are people that you want them to do their best, make good grades and develop the region.A good number of these scholars are lecturers in various universities in the region whose contribution has been great over the years.More painful is the fact that they know that most of these scholars are either from indigent or average homes. The highest act of insensitivity is that they have been saying that they will give us the living expenses 'soon' since over four months. What they did was to pay tuition fees.Abeg,na tuition fee receipt we go chop or use to pay bills? angry

Now,they want others to suffer same thing.Frankly,I do not wish any of you guys to pass through what we have passed through, that is why some of us have written to the media houses countless times. However,it baffles me that it does not really get the publicity that it needs.Maybe the problem in Nigeria is far worse or their is a conspiracy against it gaining the much needed publicity.Having said that,I will advice that the eventual scholars should brace up for the challenge by arriving here with at least a thousand pounds so that life wont be overly miserable for you here.

We chose pen over gun and we were left in the lurch and treated with immense disdain.Aside God,what has kept us has been our collective will to overcome in spite of these difficulties and inhumane treatment from our supposed sponsors...This has been the untold story of 2015 NDDC scholars.

Although Nigeria seems to be a complex society, however,it is only simple and rational decisions that will make the country prosper.Just develop the region that have been feeding the country for about half a century and nobody will have a basis for agitations. But when there is too much suffering in the land and you see that the people benefiting from your God-given resources are several miles away, nobody will be happy.More disheartening is the fact that these people always oppose any policy that will tend to bring development and growth to the host communities e.g PIB.These their actions leaves much to be desired.Sometimes, things need to get worse for it to get better.

I have been to dubai and the creek. You can feel the hunger and the level of deprivation in the latter.Whilst in the former, what will first come to your mind is the beauty of the place. You will not know that both have this supposedly black gold. The best is for Nigerians to come together critically address issues and renegotiate their union. The status quo will never work if the root problem(s) isnt addressed head-on.

Whenever you rock suite to even Engineering interview, nobody frowns at it.If suite is not available, you can dress corporate.I do not know when they will call for interview.Nonetheless, since they commenced this scholarship later than usual,I think they will try and fast track the process.Hence, expect it sooner than you think and the reading starts now.

I do not know about PGD....I only know about MSC.Abeg, avoid coming up with things we go make those guys(interviewers) leave you in the lurch or be at their mercy.

Excellent, please give more details on how to prepare for the interview and the documents required. Thanks. God win...

They will text the necessary documents at the appropriate time.I think @prof has given useful information. The interview covers current affairs, your chosen course in MSC and sometimes your degree course. Please,do not read so much about the course for MSC and forget questions like,''why do you want to study this course and how will it benefit the region''.In current affairs, read as much as you can about Nigeria, basic things in africa and world....Last year, they asked mostly rivers, ocean, lakes and the likes.

They ask whatever they feel like in current affairs and they have access to internet too. Most of the panelist are lecturers from various uni in niger delta. Please,do not answer what you dont know or try to outsmart them. Finally, you must not get all the questions to be awarded the scholarship.I did not know 1 out of the 5 questions that I was asked.

Baresi baba, so did u finally use the Subsea engineering when u obtained the scholarship? even though the interviewer didnt listen during interview. Then also do u know or have heard of any of ur fellow scholar that used it for a 2years or 18months masters after obtaining it? Waitin for ur respnse

Am doing neither at the moment...I had a eureka moment and now changed to what I really wanted...For those that were asking if the guy saw the questions,I doubt. Some dudes are quite good in remembering questions. At some point,I do go to dragnet exam to literally click the answers and not to solve or read passages until I got a job and later this scholarship...Like I said before,I memorized the logic, verbal, maths and few current affairs ans for cinfores before they changed it last year.Meet me after exam and I can guarantee you at least 60% of the questions.Although it is a gift,at times it takes time and dedication.Nigeria is very competitive, you just have to go the extra mile to be a step ahead. There are many like that too.

That dude is sound even from his writing.Like I usually say, nothing is certain. They can decide to call for interview and judge it as 100% this time.Just prepare well and be in high spirits.

You can change to whatever you want that is in line with what they had specified during application as long as your reason is justifiable. However, the amount for MSC does not vary with years of your MSC course. If you want to change your course during interview,I advice that you read about both in case they insist that you must ans the one they want or on their record. That was what happened to me..........Goodluck
Education / Re: NDDC 2016 Postgraduate Foreign Scholarship Application Commences by baresi22: 6:43am On Jun 04, 2016
Hi guys, hope good.To those that scored very high-congrats.To those that did not make as much as they expected-all hope is not lost.Cinfores 'cast' when a good number of people scored above 85% in the last PRESSID.An hour exam of maths, english(with passages),current affairs and logic. No sensible person will want to be embarrassed twice even if they were to conduct the exam.Like I said before, the test is just 40% of your total score while interview is 60%.
I have to say it clearly that no system is perfect, however,do not be disillusioned by people's assertion that NDDC isnt transparent. These kind of bodies are always under pressure cos there are people that you just cant say no to.However, they still have to meet their statutory responsibility of impacting on the people by making sure that a good number merit it.I had that misconception until I saw my fellow comrades-in-the-hustle get the award,I had to step up my game.

It is obvious that the average score is quite low,it simply means they will cut lower. The main thing is that you have done your best.I prefer to worry about things that I have control over rather than the ones that I dont.I think you have control over the interview which I feel will come up soonest. It is about five man panel interview and it gives balance cos they assess you differently.

Last year, those that applied for Engineering in MSC category answered 50questions which included English, maths and Engineering questions.Last two years,it was 100 questions but mainly English, mathematics and current affairs. There is room for change of course and(or) uni but you have to apply and give your reason(s).Please, you guys should focus more on the test question not interview for now.

Calculator is not allowed.Just get acquainted with basic numerical skills like simple divisions and multiplications.Things like 25/100 is the same as 1/4 or 444 * 25 is same as 444*100/4 etc...Things that will make 'life' easy for you.
Then, they set basic field specifics...If your undergraduate is Engineering, just know the basics of engineering(mechanics and electricity mainly). This was the pattern last year.Like I usually say,it is not certain that they will do same this year. However, what is constant is that they are unlikely to give you a very complex Engineering problem to solve that day.

NDDC scholarship is independent of how long your msc is.Everybody gets same amount whether 2years or a year....Finally,do not be intimidated by the crowd on the day of exam, just know say races like this na per head grin. smiley

Question for the house...
Is the scholarship available for any course and any country?? I got invited for the test and I am thinking of changing my admission(both school and course).
Also anybody know the cutoff marks for the states....would be nice to know what we are all aiming for.
Thank You.

They specified the courses that you can apply for.Meanwhile, for you to be shortlisted,I guess your course was stated. It is for any foreign school. However,NDDC have selected schools that they are in partnership with. They have MOU with cranfield uni,uni of aberdeen, coventry, teesside uni, dundee uni etc.All are in the U.K.The advantage is that these schools will not bother you even when the tuition fails to come on time.More of these details will be given to the successful scholars on the award day. It is also important to note that the scholarship is worth 30k USD(about 21k GBP) as at last year and all inclusive.Hence, there is need for you to also consider cost of tuition and living expenses before making choice of uni and the likes.

The cutoff mark is not really a problem. If one scores slightly above 60%,the person will likely be called.Having said that, you should aim for the maximum because it is weighted with the interview score.About 40% usually make it to the interview stage.

Someone asked for my contact, apologies, but I cant reveal such here and moreso, there is nothing that I will tell you that I cant say here.I will attend to any question or clarification here that will not jeopardize the integrity of the exam. You need not to be uneasy, neither do you need to be overly excited.Just do your best and read the instructions well.....Goodluck

Hi,I hope you guys are doing well.I just want to make some clarifications.I wrote nddc test last year and I was awarded.A year before,it was strictly cinfores.I never knew about the software until after the exam.Last year,I memorized all the answers in the verbal, logic and maths section of cinfores. It was a herculean task, however,I was determined to get the scholarship.Unfortunately, they changed the question last year.I wrote for Engineering. Most of the Engineering questions were from indiabix.com.For the maths and english,i have no idea where they brought them from but they were not so difficult.Consequently,I advice that you guys should go with an open mind.Often times it is what you had known that gives you an edge not necessarily the last minute 'jacking'.....Lastly,try and hit the test hard because it contributes 40% while interview contributes the remainder......Special greetings to my fellow comrades faithgesco and geobukky......May God oil your efforts with success.....Goodluck friends

Hello, do you mean someone can't go with an admission letter showing a course different from the one he/she submitted during the application and be interviewed on that?

For instance,I got admission in pipeline engineering and applied with that,I later got admission on subsea engineering and subsequently went for the interview with subsea engineering admission letter. However,I was asked questions based on pipeline engineering and current affairs mainly. This is because that was what was showing on their record and my efforts to convince the interviewers that I changed my choice of course went on deaf ears.
I thank God that I peeled and dismembered the questions anyway grin.....To be on a safer side, you can prepare for both before the interview date,my two cents...........Good luck

mathematicians, statisticians and economists in the house please someone should give me clue on how to solve this

Regression not repression. You can use youtube to learn it and do your assignment if you do not have a good textbook.Maintenance cost is dependent on years of lets say equipment. You call the former Y(dependent variable) and the latter X(independent variable).
Use regression formular to solve.Plot on graph, you will get a scatter plot and regression analysis basically gives you the best line of fit and it is a kind of model used to estimate or predict an outcome considering deviations from the actual value.

Regression formular is straightforward,trust me.Goodluck

Not anchor bro....anchor is on the right if u are coming from oil mill. This one is on the left if u are coming from oil mill.It looks like an expensive hospital...i know the hospital name if it is mentioned.

First @biafrannigerian,if u are truly a biafran u will give tell him what you know if u truly know something.Op just be mindful of the solutions people will give u especially drugs so as not to damage your internal organs.make person no try to cure cancer come get HIV.Even people with azoospermia(no sperm count) at times father a child cos it might be due to blockage.I dont know if u did orchidectomy(removal of one or both testis) cos it can affect your testereone level or u have varicocele(especially grade 3). Furthermore,u need more of an endocrinologist to explain those test(FSH,LH and co) and proffer solutions rather than a urologist.just that they are few in nigeria. There is one hospital around eleme junction in port harcourt that have those specialists cos they have visiting days.I have forgotten the name of the hospital but the environment is serene and has security post.it is along aba road between oil mill and intel but by the left side of the road if u are coming from oil mill. Those guys can help.If someone knows the name he/she can tell him and i will concur.Another is DR Turek in USA.I had read a lot about him and he has helped a lot.
I do not have medical background but engineering. However,i think an effective and at times efficient solution to this kind of problem can be a combination of so many fields such medical, psychological and the likes. There are some foods that help build the sex hormones such as berries.U can mix it with exercises like kegel and more importantly I believe in God.

but @grossintel abeg no reason suicide,I admire your courage to share this and the 'non-sucidal' manner which u responded to even the one that said she did not pity u when someone lambasted her. Finally,I strongly believe that you will be fine.
