Politics / Re: Is This Obi's Pathway To Victory In 2023? by baresi22: 1:21am On Jan 07, 2023
Obi will win Kaduna, Benue, Plateau and Taraba.

Flier:
There is no Path to victory for obi because the system does not favour him
Even if Obi wins 100 millon vote, there is no way he can win election if he doesn't win 25% in 24 States, something that is practically impossible for him to achieve
Obi will get enough votes in SS,SE,SW and NC but forget the rest he won't get 10%

If you are able to make another superior score, then you can accept the invite but if not, don’t waste your funds in applying for the visa.

Thank you so much. That is what I have decided to do. I called them after posting this and I was told to draft a cover letter and apply.Me self come tire... I had to explain the situation again to the Department of home affairs staff and I got the same response. It seems that they are bending their rules cos they need people.
Politics / Re: Analysing Peter Obi’s Plans To Remove Import Restrictions – Reno Omokri by baresi22: 6:40pm On Oct 07, 2022
I have lived and worked in United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. Most Western countries remove import and export restrictions. You only increase the import duties of some targeted items so as to encourage local production. For example, if you restrict importation of cars, local manufacturing companies cannot meet up with demand in Nigeria. You will encourage smuggling and other vices and short-change yourself by not getting revenue from import duties.

In my opinion, removing these restrictions is something that should be encouraged, while one creating an investor friendly country.

It is usually only when advanced nations want to sanction some countries that they implement ban or restrictions.

The main things that can save Nigeria is to reduce cost of governance, reduce corruption by block leakages using technology, investment in regenerative projects, exploring renewable energy sources and finally vote for a good leader. From my observations among the leading candidates, only Peter seems to show commitment and understanding of how to effect the much needed change.

Wow! Congrats man! tunlex will comment on the bolded.

If I may ask, what's your total scores and years of experience that got you ITA?

Thank you. Total of 70 points. I had about 2 years 9 months in Nigeria, so no point because it is less than 3 years.I lived in Sydney,Aussie for 3 years(2 years 6months of professional experience). I only got 5 points because it is less than 3 years.

Good evening everyone,

For those whose skills assessment was done by VETASSESS. It is stated on the website that if you obtained your degree in Nigeria, the university has to send a copy of your certificate and transcript to them in a sealed envelope.

Please how did you go about this? I need help!

Thanks.

Hi,

You can contact exams and records in your school. You can pay for courier services like DHL or FedEx and then give them the relevant address.

Thank you

Hi guys,

I am a Mechanical engineer. I got ITA for 189. However, I just realised that I made mistake in my date of pte exam. Instead of 19/02/2019, I entered 19/02/2021(village people...lol). My date of effect was November 2021, and I had a superior score in PTE. They gave me 60 days to apply and my EOI is locked. I just want to know if there is any remedy.

Any opinion will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

My People quick question, flying from Nigeria to Canada via klm do I need a transit visa?

Please can someone help with this question.

Also, what about someone flying via United to Canada and is meant to have 2 stops in US.

As a foreigner, you will need a visa as long as you are exiting the international wing to enter a domestic flight to another city in the same country. I had this challenge sometime ago in France. You can enquire about transit visa. Hope it helps.

Hi Everyone,

I am a Canadian permanent resident. Last year, I got the pr as a single applicant. My fiancee applied for pr(as a single applicant) with AOR as August 2020. She is yet to get Ppr. Her last Gcms note shows that security and most things were passed. We intend to get married in a few months and hopefully migrate to Canada. I intend to know the best route to follow.

I just want to know if she can apply for tourist visa or student visa after or before marriage until IRCC show her love. Knowing that spousal visa might take a longer time than the pr application.

I would be happy to get a response from anyone familiar with this kind of situation.

Thank you

Go back and read no 2 of my first response to you. Your answer is there.

To add to what has been said, you can only do the courses required if you are in Australia. The easiest pathway is to go Australia and study. While studying, you can then enrol for the law courses together with your masters or diploma course. Alternatively, you can finish a two year degree and then use the other two years of post study to do it. This is because you need an existing visa, so as to enrol. The last time that I checked, they do not grant people visa to complete these legal courses. University of Sydney offers them and other universities.

Goodluck

The task isn't an easy one, but it is worthwhile if you can withstand and finally get Australian law licence.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you
For those who received COPR after March 18 and don't know if they can travel or not. I was in your shoes two weeks ago. I dropped my question here and was encouraged to moved.

I DID

Landed Pearson international Toronto yesterday. Anybody with a COPR can travel just make sure you have proof of your POF.

Hi,

From the result of your medical assessment, you have been categorised as either M1 or M3. You have no or minimal public health risk. Hence, you are qualified for the automatic 6 months extension. Apparently, they observed that your medical exam would soon expire and you would have applied for extension of copr and prv. They just saved you the stress.

Hi Everyone,

Quick one: COPR just got issued and it expires in June, 2021 with PR visa. However, my medicals expires in first-week of December, 2020. Can I travel to Canada after the expiration of my medicals?

I'd appreciate people's response on this.

Thanks.

Hi,

Try and get extra cash in addition to the 400k, because of the free fall of naira.Even if it means submitting your application slightly late. This would help avoid any technicality. Some case officers judge things strictly by the book.

Please who has gotten past the EOI stage to the visa stage and what documents were required. I got my letter from ACS and at the stage of writing IELTS before moving to EOI. I didn't submit my payslip to ACS because where I worked there wasn't anything like payslip or bank statement to back it up.

Please does anyone know how I'll fare at the VISA stage without those documents (payslip + Bank statement).
And concerning Police report. I did my BSc in the UK for three years. Will i have to get a Police report from the UK as well?

Returned to Nigeria 2016

hello gurus in the house, I have been a silent reader on this thread, I want to know if I will be access by vetassess, I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 2015 with 0 years working experience, but I can still get 65points excluding working experience, what is my chances of getting a pr if I hit 65points.i will really appreciate responses from gurus in the house.

I am not really a guru but I can answer some of your questions.First, your assessment is by Engineer Australia(EA).Use google and check their site and requirements. If your degree is in Nigeria, then you need what is called Competency Demonstration Report(CDR) and other things to be assessed.Read the MSA booklet and guidelines. These have the procedure of writing the CDR and making application. You can check the cost and the likes there.Just play around with the site and thoroughly read the information therein. The CDR is not so difficult to write.Lastly, you need to have a minimum of 6 in each section of a valid IELTS result to apply. When you read, other things will be clearer.Cheers!

Good day House, thanks to everyone that has been responding in here..... It feels good to have such platform that one could turn to for informations, kudos. I decided to migrate to Australia, now I wanna know if I could stand a chance applying via the PR rout, I had bsc in Aerospace Engineering, no work experience... Finished Nysc late last year, Ielts result was band 6.0, tho I wouldn't mind taking again. Please Gurus based on these infos would you advise to migrate via PR route or Academics? Thanks.

Hi, I advice you start from page 0.Having said that, I can give you a picture of what you need.

1. You need to be assessed by Engineer Australia if this your band score is 6 in each of the sections.Go to their website and read the MSA booklets and steps.
2. Maximum point of 20points can be gotten if you score at least 8 in each of the IELTS sections and 10points if you score at least 7 in each of the IELTS sections.

3.You need a minimum of 60points and 55points to apply for 189 and 190 subclass respectively to express your interest in the aforementioned visa classes.

The other things will be clearer when you read.

Of course you can go ahead to use the current result for EA. Yes some states don't require POF but you also have to check which states can sponsor your occupation. What branch of engineering is it?

Hi gurus and everyone,

I decided few weeks ago to activate this route.

Age-30points(single but mumsi disturbing for marriage grin)

Work experience-less than 3- 0point

Education- 15points

My IELTS result is not more than two years and I scored at least 6.5 in each section.EA requires at least 6 in each section.I have a degree in Engineering and hope to complete my MSC soonest.I want to know if this result will affect me if I use it for EA while I wait to write another few months later to hit the jackpot of 8 across each band.Another,I want to know if there are some province that do not require POF in case one fails to hit at least 60points.My degree course is in SOL.

Thank you in advance,

To the NDDC_2015_SCHOLARS:

I feel your pain. I have been in similar situation before and the only way we conquered was through DHL(I WILL TELL YOU WHY DHL)..
The method you have resorted to, in the name of "PROTEST" is not the best... By picking quarrel with the government via SOCIAL MEDIA, to 90% of Nigerians, they would see it as "PROPAGANDA" and just a handful would understand your plight...

This is my advice...

1. Send a COURIER-CONFIDENTIAL mail to the Acting MD, NDDC (CONFIDENTIAL/OFFICIAL should be written on the DHL parcel)
2. Send another COURIER-CONFIDENTIAL mail to whoever you think could take your case to the TOP...and see your result in the next 3-days. (COURIER IS AS POWERFUL AS CHARM)

YOUR MISTAKE:

You made a mistake when you protested to the NIGERIA HOUSE in London.
What you should have done is, book an appointment to meet with the High Commissioner (Ambassador), and iron out your issues to him. The Ambassador will then fight your fight and not you coming online to say bad about the government....YOU CANNOT FINISH THIS FIGHT IF YOU DONT HAVE THE GRACE OF GOD WITH YOU.

YOU MUST USE GOVERNMENT TO FIGHT GOVERNMENT....(Use your tool, THE NIGERIA HIGH COMMISSIONER and not SOCIAL MEDIA)

If after the first meeting with the Ambassador nothing happens go again, go again and go again until your matter becomes his problem.
As a Nigerian Foreign Scholar you have every access to the Nigeria High Commissioner to that country...From your video you were never allowed into the Commission you all stood outside to make the noise...

MAKE A BETTER NOISE WITH PEN AND PAPER AND YOU WILL GO FAR...

AS FOR PROSPECTIVE SCHOLARS:

You cannot work anywhere in the world, 20hrs in a week that pays "just" 7pounds.2pens (7.2p) per HOUR, while studying full-time and expect to do better in academics, you expect to meet up with your BILLS? NO! Is Difficult out there... Only By GODs GRACE

IF YOU WANT TO MEET UP?

If your course of study is; Engineering? Do this...

===> When you early arrived in the UK, By the GRACE OF GOD, look for short courses in "Automation"...
(Highest you'll pay is 500Pounds per course) from a local institute.

===> Pick up Certification programs in your different fields of studies...

===> Every university has short courses they offer. See with your departmental heads.

Forget to go for shopping immediately you get in the UK. Work on yourself first, equip yourself professionally by doing
programs for the first few weeks. After training you can now use your gained skills to earn more for yourself.

Is only when you do a professional course then you can work as a professional and you could be paid 15pounds - and above
per HOUR. Anything not PROFESSIONAL dont expect much...

In all, I greet you with the FEAR of GOD.....PEACE!

Thank you for the information and contribution. We have done all these that you said except sending a confidential DHL.I communicated with the acting MD both on phone and e-mail severally within these period.Last month, they heard of our protest and sent us apology mail for delayed payment(i.e 10months after not paying). They have being telling us that they will pay soon since march this year. Also, they have promised to pay us in two weeks on at least 4 occasions and failed to fulfill their promise. My school wrote to them at least 8 times and sometimes they do not reply or simply say that they will pay soon me.Other people were also writing and calling them.We gave them an extra month to pay us but they did not before we protested yesterday..Some of us also sent our relatives to go to their headquarters in PH and lay complaints. The worst is that most times they are very hostile when we call.We also informed traditional rulers and eminent men from the region and various media houses but all proved abortive. We went to the high commission but nobody gave us a listening ear.We just had to use the last option cos we no fit die in silence....
We do not have any grudge against they FG,it is only God that NDDC management havent blamed for the non-payment.They have blamed TSA,CBN,Forex, even FG for introducing TSA etc.Meanwhile,PTDF which is also an agency of the FG pay their scholars as at when due..Is it not the same TSA and CBN that they use?It is disappointing not to pay people but more disappointing when one lies. They lied in their annual report published on their site that they have paid us.

Frankly, the worst that they can do is not to pay me which I will still fight for.My community have oil but I know how I traveled severally to write test for jobs in lagos and other places before I secured a job back home.I work hard for most things that I have gotten. But we pleaded with them to pay us using every diplomatic means possible but they never listened.Posterity will judge me if I keep quite in the face of grave injustice and inhumane treatment from these people. But I am happy cos they will not try this nonsense again to subsequent sets.People are making bad grades because of this their dastardly and unholy act.You can see that they are unrepentant with the way they are also handling 2016 scholarship. Why should you not release the names of successful scholars on time.when they release it usually in september, they will backdate it to july and tell you that you have to use it before six months starting from that july.People start going on borrowing spree. You are giving scholarship people from poor homes yet you wont give them a dime to facilitate them and when they come here you still withhold their entitlements. This is just wickedness of the highest order.

When they gave the scholarship they invited almost all the media houses. We never knew that they will turn it to 'suffership'.....Let them just do the right thing.Thank you
