Some people alleged that, the judgement of Kano State governorship Election have been tampered with a night before the judgement was delivered. The certified copy of the judgement that have been released just today almost four days after the judgement is still showing some contradictions. The one in charge of editing the judgement has forget to edit some sentences that shows NNPP has won the appeal.

Politics / Copy Of Court Of Appeal Judgement Upholds Gov. Abba Yusuf’s Election, Awards N1m by Bari22: 10:22pm On Nov 21, 2023
Contrary to its Friday pronouncement upholding the judgement of the Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, the certified true copy of the Court of Appeal judgment however revealed that the appellate court had set aside the judgement of the lower tribunal.

The Court of Appeal had during its Friday judgement upheld the judgement of the tribunal, declaring APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as winner of the governorship election in the state.

But when the certified true copy of the judgement was released by the court on Tuesday, our reporter observed a number of contradictory declarations in the judgement.

The appellate went further to award the N1,000,0000 cost in favour of the NNPP and against the APC as against its Friday pronouncement.

In one instance, the appellate court declared “I will conclude by stating that the live issues in this appeal are hereby resolved in favour of the 1st respondent (APC) and against the appellant (Governor Abba Yusuf)”, but went further to contradict itself in another sentence.

The court said: “In the circumstances, I resolve all the issues in favour of the appellant (NNPP) and against the 1st respondent (APC).”

The court further shot itself on the foot, declaring “Therefore, I find no merit in this appeal which is liable to be and is hereby dismissed.”

But in the final line of the judgement, the court set aside the judgement of the tribunal, which sacked the governor.

“The judgment of the tribunal In Petition No.: EPT/KN/GOV/01/2023 between: ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) v. INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION & 2 ORS. delivered on the 20th day of September, 2023 is hereby set aside,” the CTC of the judgement read.

Recall that the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on September 20 sacked the governor and declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasiru Gawuna, winner of the March 18 governorship poll.

Dissatisfied by the lower tribunal’s decision, the governor, through his counsel Wole Olanipekun, asked the appellate court to set aside the judgment of the tribunal.

But the court of appeal in a unanimous ruling on Friday said the governor was not a valid candidate in the March 18 gubernatorial election.

This system is not favouring the masses at all. We've defeated Ganduje in an election in 2019 while he's a serving governor, with all his power and federal might Abba Gida-Gida defeated him but he succeeded in bringing security personnel to help him through the arranged inconclusive election.

In 2023 also, with all the federal and State resources APC have been boasting of, we still defaet them with over 150k votes and now they're trying hard to collect what is not theirs through judiciary.

Ganduje is so corrupt that he thinks leaving Abba as a Kano State Governor will expose what he's been hiding. They sell all the available lands belonging to the Kano government to their friends to build shops and houses, he sell lands in schools, parks, hospitals, grave yards and many other places.

Abba is trying hard that he may brake Kwankwaso's rocord if he continues as Kano State Governor, and wallahi the masses in Kano are with him. We don't want the repeat of Gandujes tenure again, our schools are in tatteres, no teachers, no teaching aids, and

This is an urgent question please. My brother was asked to submit his credentials for customs service recruitment. The person claims to be a scustom officer and I verified he is truly a custom officer he asked for jus N25,000 saying the money to be paid will be announced after starting training in Kano. He was sent an invitation email. My question is that is there an ongoing rectruitment/replacement in NCS?

The Gov would fail again bcoz those 165,663 ballot papers not stamped signed and dated were smuggled into the boxes.

Ballot papers must be stamped signed and dated before it's issued to a voter to proceed to voting point at the polling unit.

How NNPP got these and all the unstamped unsigned undated ballot papers were for NNPP. So, NNPP was just being clever by half. Instead of them to thumbprint some for APC, they chose to be selfish as usual.

So, NNPP would fail again even up to Supreme bcoz even INEC doesn't have answer to the 165,663 votes.

You dont know anything about this case then, 145k votes are sign and stamped but not dated, about 5k are dated stamped but not signed and the rest are also missing a sign, stamp, or date. the judgement is just deliberate attempt to return APC through backdoor. Any sane Kano indegene is not with APC and Ganduje who only enriched themselves and family during their tenure. May be u are not even from Kano but here supporting the people that are only after politics not people

Congratulations bro. I'm very happy for you.

As for me I'm just thinking on how I can accumulate one million to buy a job offer if it can be enough. Depression is catching up on me. Almost seven years after graduation no job

Politics / Abdulazeez Ganduje Threatens Legal Action Against Father Over ₦190m Deal by Bari22: 6:20pm On Feb 25, 2022
Ganduje’s son threatens legal action against father over payment in N190m contract deal

Abdulazeez Ganduje, the eldest son of the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has threatened to legal action against the government of his father for failure to pay the sum of N82 million to his company, Global Firm Nigeria Limited, being final payment of a contract he executed.

DAILY NIGERIAN exclusively gathered that on February 13, 2020, Mr Ganduje approved contract for “CONVERSION OF MARIRI REHABILITATION CENTER TO IDP GIRLS SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE” to his son’s company at the cost of N189,913,590.54.

On May 7, 2021, the company was paid N94,556,795.27 through referral payment from the state Ministry of Local Government, representing 50 percent of the contract sum, leaving the balance of 50 percent.

After a downward review the contract by the ministry to the tune of N177,619,259.36, another contract for the the supply of computers and furniture for the administrative block and entrepreneurship items at the cost of 12,294,331.23 was awarded to the company to cover the deficit.

But to Abdulazeez’s dismay, his father refused to approve the final payment of N82,662,464.04, despite allegedly executing the project, writing to the ministries concerned and involvement of some associates of the governor.

Insiders told DAILY NIGERIAN that the governor’s refusal to approve the payment might not be unconnected with Abdulazeez’s September 2021 petition to the EFCC against his mother, Hafsat Ganduje, in a bungled multi-million naira deal he (Abdulaziz) facilitated.

In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Education and seen by DAILY NIGERIAN, Abdulazeez’s solicitors demanded payment of N82,662,464.04 within seven days or take legal action.

When contacted, the governor’s son confirmed his resolve to take legal action over the issue, but said his father refused to approve the payment over his (Abdulaziz) refusal to give kickback in cash to Ganduje Foundation.

“I’m a very peaceful person. I did my best and explored all peaceful options to get the payment of my money, about N83 million, to no avail.

“I have not been paid either because of the petition I wrote against Goggo (his mother) or my refusal to give part of the money to Ganduje Foundation as kickback.

“I said I would not give cash, but donate materials to the foundation. But they insisted that I must donate money to the foundation and I swear to God that I will not.

“This is the money that I worked hard for. I executed the project diligently at the Mariri IDP centre. I have been waiting patiently to receive this money but there is no sign of paying it to me,” Abdulazeez added.

The state commissioner for Information Mohammed Garba did not respond to DAILY NIGERIAN inquiry on the matter.

Mr Ganduje was previously exposed in a kick-back collection scandal in October 2018 when DAILY NIGERIAN published a series of videos showing the governor collecting money from a government contractor.

The executive secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, PACAC, Sadiq Radda, on Thursday said Mr Ganduje has several questions to answer regarding corruption cases against him.

“You can see in Kano, Ganduje has many cases to answer while in office, he will answer more out of office and sadly for the first time in Nigeria a son is taking his mother to the EFCC,” Mr Radda said.
