The main reason you saw them on the streets back then was because each time they go for preaching, they have to submit a monthly report showing how many hours they spent preaching, how many magazines they distributed, etc.

Back then, if you didn't report between 30 - 50 hours per month, they will call you spiritually weak.

So people had to go out to preach to be able to count the hours.

Mind you, the submitting of the monthly report had no scriptural backing, but they kept at it for over a 100 years.

But recently, the Governing Body announced that they don't have to give a monthly report anymore - that is why you're not seeing them on the streets again.

Since there is no need to report hours monthly again, most people are not worried about preaching again.

In situations like this it is always the poor, innocent and defenceless people that get punished for what they nothing about. Those who committed the crime are no longer around that area so the soldiers should apply caution in their revenge
