Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Collaboration Can Change Nigeria, If They Bury The Hatchet. by Bash92(m): 3:19pm On Oct 14, 2014 |
Konmight: Our stewpeed forefathers put us in this mess.
Instead of Awolowo and Azikwe to work together and formed a government, they blew the opportunity and gave power on a platter of gold to the North.
Azikwe made his own mistake....
1. He wanted to become Premier of Western Region by all means. That was where the whole problem started.
2. When he lost, he rushed to east to become Premier of Eastern Region instead of Ita Eyo.
3. He knew his Nephew Ifeajuna was planning coup yet he did not inform Balewa rather he stayed abroad for over six months under the guise of medical treatment.
Awolowo also made his own mistake...
1. He shouldn't have worked with Gowon no matter how good the offer was. He should have known that if North could do what they did to Igbos because they lost power, there's a tendency that they would do worse to Yorubas.
2. I wouldn't have have worked for Gowon, if I can't help my friend to fight his enemy then I should not work against him. If you can't help me, don't add to my problems. Awo took the offer before Igbos attacked Ore. Of course we did well to send the Igbos back. Yet my point is we should have protected our territory without with taking any side whatsoever. When the going was GOOD, they were Allies and made us Opposition(Enemy). So when the going became SOUR, we should have folded our arms, protect our territory and watch the season movie as the Igbos and Hausas killed themselves.
3. He should have allowed Akintola to continue ruling instead of causing confusion in West.
So, what has happened has happened no thanks to Stewpeed Azikwe who prefered to work with Hausas so he could influence them as he liked because Hausas are less educated AND Awolowo who was stewpeed enough to work for the Hausas against his fellow Southern Brothers.
Two of them sowed seed of discord between the Yorubas and Igbos and now it has become irreedemable.
There's no solution on sight now because there's lack of trust.
Igbos tell the hate story from generation to generation. Yorubas got to know how much Igbos hate them and have also developed hatredness for Igbos(I got to know how much Igbos hate Yorubas and vice versa when I joined nairaland). They call Yorubas various names while Yorubas also call them names.
Our common enemy, who killed our people at the slightest provocation in North, should have been Hausas BUT we hate ourselves more than the Hausas who caused the civil war(yeah, they did when they reneged on the Aburi Accord).
What is the solution?
I think the only solution for now is to stop calling ouserlves names, tolerate ourselves for now and endure till we go our separate ways. I'm one of people who believe The Forced Marriage Called Nigeria Shall Not Lasts Forever.
God Bless Us All.
Cheers. . This deserve its own thread. Very balance unlike the stupid article which put all the blame on a particular tribe. |

Sports › Super Eagles Booed In Abuja by Bash92(op): 4:16pm On Oct 12, 2014 |
African champions, Nigeria, on Sunday got an unwanted reception by aggrieved fans at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja following their arrival from Sudan. The fans, who booed the Super Eagles, were still furious with the team for their 0-1 loss to Sudan on Saturday. Bakeber Bakri scored the match winner in the 42nd minute to hand Sudan the three needed points. The Super Eagles touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwi International Airport around 9am local time (10am CAT) on Sunday only for them to be booed by angry fans. The fans were apparently still battling to come to terms with the Super Eagles' loss to Sudan, which leaves Nigeria's chances of qualifying for next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, on winning their three remaining matches. Supersport.com learned that it took the intervention of armed security men before the Super Eagles were allowed to board a bus from the airport. Nigeria now sit at the base of Group A in the 2015 Afcon qualification on one point, Sudan are in third spot while South Africa are the new leaders on seven points followed by Congo on six points. The Eagles will host the Sudanese side in a return fixture of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers on Wednesday at the Abuja National Stadium. www.supersport.com/football/super-eagles/news/141012/Super_Eagles_booed_in_Abuja |

Neyoor: According to reports, Tolu Adeosun, a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) in ward 9 Ilesa East, Osun state, was yesterday shot death in front of his house around Osun Ankanra. T his happened as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, moved his campaign train to Ilesa. Residents say before his arrival, his gang of miscreants, called “IBK Boys” were seen brandishing cutlasses and shooting sporadically. It was one of the bullets that allegedly hit Adeosun in the abdomen leading him to bleed to death.
Late Adeosun only held a naming ceremony for his new born baby just just the day before his untimely death. Residents of Ilesa, the hometown of the incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, say the miscreants have promised more violence for the governor’s supporters. The guy was beaten with charm, that's how APC put an APC vest on a PDP guy that was killed in Ekiti and started broadcasting the pictures that it was fayose boys that killed the guy but the opposite was the case www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/11669-osun-2014-1-killed-as-pdp-apc-supporters-clash-in-ilesa |

@ topic. That's an unreasonable attempt from Aregbe's supporters if true. But Why Omisore sef no request for more guards from his pals at the ministry of defence and police in Abuja, going to Aregbe's main stronghold to campaign like you're in your hood is insane.
#Team ona baba ona anyway.. Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has tasked residents of the state to go to the polling booths on August 9, 2014 armed with charms and verses from the Quran and Bible. The governor, who said this in Ikire on Tuesday during his campaign in the town, however, did not say what voters would use the charms and prayer verses for. Speaking in Yoruba language, Aregbesola urged the people of the state to go out and cast their ballots and stay back until the result was announced to avoid rigging. He described the Peoples Democratic Party as an assemblage of men who are promiscuous for asking young women to “dress to kill” while going to cast their ballots during the governorship poll. The governor said, “Make sure you go to cast your ballots with everything. I am not saying you should go there with guns but the law does not frown against charms, verses from the Quran and psalms of the Bible. www.punchng.com/politics/take-charms-to-polling-booths-aregbesola-urges-voters/ |

benzion72: So for 8 years Oyin could not get the stadium project commenced and completed. I don't leave in Osogbo but the other day I missed my road because I was expecting all untarred and unpassable road. There is road from capital hotel to housing almost all road inside dada estate is tarred with drainage. I was in Ipetu another LGA there is a road that pass in front of Govt girls college. The other time there was hold up at ikire more 3 access road that was well tarred with drainage . In Gbogan there road that started from Oke church to my aunty farm to Igbo Ijebu.
You did not fault is murder suspicion nether is sponsoring of genocide against Modakeke Answer my question where is the money meant for the other 5 stadium.? All the road you mention are LG road done with local government money, where is the state allocation going to? As for Omisore's case the court didn't find him guilty and the modakeke ish If your town and another town is in war with each other and you are in a position to use your power and assist your town. benabbey: They awarded six stadium contract which were never commenced and all the money for mobilization and completion have being paid and shared. In four year Aregbesola have employed and trained more than 100,000 youths in community service, he constructed 10 kilometer road in all the 30 local governments, also another 3 kilometer road in all the local governments. He has expanded all major roads in our town. He constructed 100s of ultra modern, well equipped primary and secondary schools. He give one meal per day with one egg in all our primary school thereby increasing the production consumption of children and indirectly engaging poultry farmers. All his road are with concrete drainage This is all aregbe could do in 4 years abi some of it ? 1)True, Oyinlola awarded the contract for the 6 stadium but Aregbesola cancelled all the contract for the 6 stadium before work could begin on it except the one in osogbo. Where is the money set aside for the stadium? Ask your paymaster Aregbe not Oyinlola. 2)Where are the 100,000 youth Aregbe employed and trained ? Cos I haven't been seeing them. 3) Where are the roads he expanded? After four years Aregbesola hasn't completed a single major road, all is projects are under construction. 4) Where are the 100s schools he constructed, the school he build isn't even up to 10. 5) Oyinlola started the meal per day with egg for primary school pupil, so that aint new. From all the things you listed the only thing that is true is the 10km road in each local government, it is even done with the local government allocation. Which brings the question where is the state allocation going to? Even the not upto 10 mega school he constructed was done with the universal basic education money. So TRY AGAIN NEXT TIME YOU and YOUR PAYMASTER CANT DECEIVE US AGAIN |

Politics › Osun Gov Election: Channels Tv Debate: The Apc Vs Pdp by Bash92(op): 6:26pm On Jul 19, 2014 |
Saw this on Facebook. Bash92: For forty minutes this morning, Osun State governorship Election took the front burner on Channels' Television Sunrise Programme. It was a debate between the PDP and the APC. The PDP was represented by Chief Lere Oyewunmi (DG Omisore Campaign) and Mr. Diran Odeyemi (Director Media & Strategy) whilst the APC was represented by Mr. Ajibola Bashiru ( Osun State Commisioner for Special Duties) and Mr. Bola Ilori ( Special Adviser on Environment) It was all fire works. Each side tried to break the backbone of the other. The APC folks appeared to be more under pressure as its representatives, especially Bola Ilori, fidgeted and I nterjected the PDP representatives, almost to the point of disrupting the Programme. The APC representatives could not define who the 'State Boys' were and their roles in the polity. Instead, they posited that the PDP had the control of the DSS, Police and Army. The question is: Are the'State Boys' the alternative to these government security Agencies? The moderators wanted to know what the Agenda of Omisore was. And, Chief Lere Oyewunmi did justice to it. He enumerated five programmes in the areas of education, healthcare, employment, agriculture and infrastructure. The same question was not put to the APC. To a large extent, the PDP was able to puncture the educational reforms of the Aregbesola's administration; from the school feeding system ( which they proved started from the PDP era), to the merger of schools and same school uniform policy. They added a clincher promising that all schools merged will be de-merged and returned to their former names with their old school uniforms and beliefs. The APC wanted to put Diran Odeyemi on the spot by saying roads in almost every locality and LG area have been touched. Mr. Odeyemi said this was not correct even though there are some on going road projects here and there. Unfortunately, the Commissioner could not name a single road that has been tarred in Obokun Local Government where Odeyemi comes from when asked to do so. Mr. Odeyemi added that no replacement has also been built for the Schools demolished in his Local Government. He was put to test further on his knowledge of his LG. Bola Ilori asked him to name the Schools in his Local Governement that were affected. Mr. Odeyemi named three and said not a single block has been laid for their replacement yet and that the students are cramped in classes like sardines. Irked by the effrontery of Bola Ilori to ask him which Local Government he came from, Diran Odeyemi reminded him that he was a Prince in Ibokun and asked Ilori: Where are you from in Osun State. Ilori paused for a while, obviously dazed, and then muttered I am from Ondo. What an audacity? How politically expedient is it for Aregbesola to send a non Osun indigene to such a debate? What happens to all the Osun indigenes in his cabinet? On the issue of violence, Mr. Odeyemi said the Osun State Governor has a record and pedigree in election violence. He reminded the APC representatives about the 183 "thugs" that the Governor sent to Anambra for their governorship election but were arrested before they could wreak havoc and are facing charges in Court. He also recalled that the Governor recently asked his members to go to the polling stations with matchets and juju. Bola Ilori refuted this and said the governor asked his supporters to go with "whatever they believed in, including Quoran, Bible and traditional implements to the polling stations". An attempt to pose a stage-managed question from Twitter on agriculture suggesting that over four thousand farmers were benefitting from the school feeding Programme of the APC back-fired big time. It met its Waterloo in the response from Lere Oyewunmi who reeled out his cognate experience and pedigree in the field of agriculture and submitted that it was sheer Aregbesola's propaganda on the newspapers and social media networks that farmers were benefitting and affirmed further that in his Irewole LG, he was bold to say not a single farmer has benefitted from any such agricultural scheme. It was an interesting debate though a bit rowdy. It could have been more interesting and informative if the representatives of the APC have been as cool and relaxed like the PDP counterparts who were definitely more relaxed and composed often smiling and marshaling their points much better than the APC guys. The APC's objective was to paint a picture that the election was going to be rigged. Their representatives mentioned some nebulous groups like Omo Ilu Organisation going round in search of voters card. This appeared a wild goose chase and extraneous to the question of the achievements of Aregbesola and what the people would benefit from his reelection. The APC representatives appeared confused and poorly coordinated to give a killer-punch or a juggernaut to the PDP's face in this debate. |
