Who in Osun told you the government doesn't want to pay salaries? If they are no longer paying salaries, will people still be working there? And besides, is it only in the State of Osun in Nigeria where salaries are owed staff before payment? Or what are we saying?
You are doing a good job for Aregbe, I hope the half salary is not affecting you?

And who said it wasn't disseminated? It is a laudable idea to save funds by not wasting them on students who are not ready to learn. And what do you mean by Ogbeni rascal? I know for certain that hoodlums exist in schools in every state so why should the case of Osun be dat to Ogbeni? Is he the one teaching them or what exactly?
He should not have merge the school, do you know the numbers of secondary school that have been shut down because of violence? How do you expect 10 permanent teachers with a few Corp member to manage and control over 5000 students consisting of school A, B, C and D

In as much I agree that they should be punished, how will they Identify the culprits, the school they are from. In a situation all the students in the state where the same uniform.
I believe the problem started when the stubborn governor merge some school together, Even the teachers are now afraid of the students, in a particular school around osogbo not osogbo the teachers have to go to the palace to tell the king of the town only one student pass the mock exam, for fear of being attacked.

From my own point of view,
This story is either incomplete or untrue.
I'm not in support of the government or student.
But there must have been an aggrieved reason, why students came out amass to start breaking cars in a radio station.
The press is a bit bias on this story, that part of the problem.

Regards,
EF
The reason was that the state government didn't announced they fail until the application for waec close.

PoliticsReuben Abati: Davido, Baby Mamas And Other Stories by Bash92(op): 5:13pm On Jan 08, 2016
“What a relief, my friend!”
“What are you relieved about?”
“It is this David Adeleke and Sophia Momodu soap
opera”.
“I tell you. It is a perfect subject for a good home
video. But what is your own?”
“No. Nothing. I am just relieved that the parties
involved have agreed to let peace reign”
“This will be about the third time I would hear of that
matter being resolved.”
“Well, I think the Momodus and the Adelekes should
just spare us. They should not forget there is a child
involved. They have suddenly made Imade Adeleke, the
most famous victim of Baby Mama-Baby Papa palaver
in Nigeria. Both Davido and Sophia and their
supporters’ clubs should please protect the baby, and
not make her a poster child for that kind of subject.”
“But me, I am enjoying the story oh.”
“Of course, too many sadists in our land enjoy other
people’s misery.”
“But really, it is a simple matter. “
“If it were that simple, the drama wouldn’t be so
entertaining. “
“What Davido wants, Davido gets. His father is rich. He
is a famous musician. Davido says he wants custody
of his daughter.”
“By taking her away from her mother by force, and
giving her to his half-sister, and threatening to travel
out of the country with the baby for medicals, without
the mother’s knowledge or consent? A seven-month
old baby, abducted at two months?”
“He gave reasons for that. He is talking about the
biological mother taking cannabis and risking his
daughter’s life”
“Cannabis?”
“Yes. Igbo”
“You seriously mean marijuana?”
“Yes, gbana as in Indian hemp. And Davido provided a
medical report to confirm his claim.”
“You saw the medical report. You are sure it is
genuine? Because I understand Sophia Momodu’s
lawyers have written the lab to produce the original
report of proof of drug abuse.”
“This their matter sef.”
“That’s why it is the child that is most important. I
don’t like the way they have turned the young girl into a
trophy to be fought over in a blood sport. We are in the
age of the internet. Twenty years from today, someone
could print out these funny details from the internet
memory bank. A father, grandfather and a half-sister
fighting a mother and her family over a baby and
making sordid claims: It is not a fight that can be easily
won.”
“I hear Davido says the Momodus cannot force him. He
may even release a special song to make his position
clear: No be by force.”
“Nobody is forcing him and his family to marry Sophia
Momodu. They are just saying custody should be
mutually agreed upon.”
“And he and his family are saying they want their
daughter properly brought up. They too have a point.
You should not take sides.”
“Ok. He is talking about Marijuana. When he was head
over heels in love with the Momodu girl, he didn’t smell
marijuana? I am sure if he was given Marijuana before
he was allowed to inhale, he would willingly exhale?
“He insists he was just 21 years old. And that he was
seduced by a full-grown woman who took advantage of
his youth and innocence.”
“Innocence, indeed. Was he raped? Did he not have a
relationship with her, and did he not showcase her
everywhere? He was 21. If he could be tricked at 21,
then he should live with the consequences. “
“You are taking sides. I know why. You are Dele
Momodu’s friend.”
“I am making uncommon sense. I am saying why is
Davido asking for Sophia Momodu’s birth certificate
after the fact? When the thing dey sweet them, they no
dey remember say na the thing wey fowl chop, him go
shit.”
“But you can’t force any man to marry a woman. Why
the girl too go carry belle for him junior brother? She
suppose know say Davido sef him na pikin. You no see
as him papa they follow am, make dem no carry big
yansh, big chest, fine face, cheat him son for Lagos”
“Him try well, well. But Davido, your boy, him no sabi
use rubber?”
“That girl look like person wey go gree rubber?”
“You dey craze”
“My own is that fathers should just keep an eye on
their sons and daughters. Let mothers also keep an eye
on their daughters. To avoid stories that break the heart
like this one, fine girls should just know that you can’t
detain any man with a baby. Er beg.”
“The values of the younger generation are different.”
“Some strict parents will still never have allowed this to
happen.”
“Some of these children are beyond control.”
“But we all suffer for it. This is why Ghanaian ladies
insist that Nigerian men are unreliable. They say they
use and dump women.”
“They say they…?”
“That’s what I hear.”
“They or we?”
“They.”
“You mean you have tried the Ghanaian market too?
Tell your brother something about ECOWAS romance?”
“You are an incurable gossip. Ashawo, somebody.”
“But talking seriously, it won’t be fair to condemn
Nigerian men. I think this is a thing about Nigerian
musicians. Those people too like women. Young
women, old women oh…any woman. Even the women
musicians sef, any man wey stand well… fiam”
“That is more important to them than their art? No
wonder many of them sing such trashy songs”
“There is even one of them who has seven children
from five women or so. And there is one they call
Whizkid”
“Superkid?”
“Whatever. But there is this kid musician who also has
a child from an older woman. There is this joke that
when his parents heard, they quickly took charge of the
situation, by telling the Baby Mama that while they
would accept the baby, everyone could see that the
Baby father is himself still a baby, too young to take
care of another baby, not to talk of a grown woman.
They pleaded that no woman should pakurumo..ko…”
“ Nice joke. I laughed. Him sef na pikin, he never grow
finish to take care of pikin. The girl fled.”
“That’s why I say it is a simple matter. Davido should
have consulted his seniors in this matter. That one that
has seven children from five women did it so well,
today all his Baby Mamas married or single, are
friends.”
“Wow. That’s a real Baba of the matter. Who is he?”
“I can’t mention his name. He is happily married now to
one of the Baby Mamas. I don’t want to be accused of
disrespecting another man’s wife.”
“Let Davido and Sophia just make peace for their
daughter’s sake. And when the matter is settled,
Davido knows where to go for tutorials if he really
wants to fish in this type of troubled waters.”
“But our musicians sha. They can fight?”
“Who again is fighting?”
“Olamide and Don Jazzy.”
“That face-off over awards at The Headies event? But
they have apologized”
“No. You don’t get the point. Why should artistes or
producers or label owners fight over awards? What I
have seen is that our young artistes are obsessed with
awards. They seem to be more interested in being
given a plaque than developing their real work. It is this
same problem with Nollywood actors. Any small award
is treated as if it is the Nobel Prize.”
“I see that too. It is the Grammy award disease.”
“No true artist should work with an eye on winning a
plaque. The best award is the acceptance of the market
place, not by a group of biased judges. If you are good
as an artist, you are good, nobody can take that away
from you.”
“Quite true. But it helps to have some plaques on the
wall, I must say.”
“How many of those musicians who were called the
best new acts on the block in the 80s and early 90s are
still making any impact today? When a work of art is
good, it will be evergreen; when an artist is good, his
talent will endure.”
“Some of these new kids are great though. World-class
talents. In the last few years, there has been an
explosion of real talent.”
“I want to hear more about talent. Great art. Not drama
kings and queens, not Baby Mamas and Lab Reports.”
“You are just old-fashioned. Controversy is part of art.
Life itself is about controversy. Controversy produces
great art. In the world of artists, all things work out as
raw material.”
“That’s why people insist artists are mad.”
“But it is not only artists that generate or attract
controversy. Politicians do.”
“I know. Controversy is the soul of politics, but here it
produces stress and oftentimes, tragedy.”

PoliticsOSUN: Angry Workers Batter Journalists by Bash92(op): 8:31am On Sep 16, 2015
Irate workers in Osun State on Tuesday battered
journalists from MITV, Abass Okandeji and ONTV
reporter, Adeniyi Folorunsho, during a protest.
The incident happened at the State Government’s Secretariat when the journalists in company with their colleagues went to cover the protest by the workers over non-payment of their salaries.
Our correspondent gathered that the network
journalists were dealt several blows by the irate
workers who thought they were working for a
government owned media organisation.
The prompt response of officials of the Nigeria
Security and Civil Defence Corps and colleagues of the victims prevented a further battering the
journalists.
Okandeji, who spoke on the telephone with our
correspondent said he was mistaken for a
journalist from the media organisation the
workers considered to be unfriendly to them.
He said, ” I was treated at the clinic inside the
secretariat, I have chest pain, but Folorunsho has cut on his hand. His camera was also damaged by our attackers.”
He said he was at the Ataoja Police Station where he had gone to make a formal report to the police on the attack.
The chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun
State chapter, Mr. Biodun Olakere, when
contacted on the telephone by our correspondent condemned the attack.
He said, “The attack was unfortunate and we
condemn it. The NLC chairman has apologised
and we have accepted the apology, but we have
asked the two gentlemen beaten to identify just
one out of those who beat them and we would
ensure that that one is dealt with.
” We know that the leadership of the labour union was not behind it, but it was the handiwork of some misguided persons. We will ensure that those who perpetrated the act face the wrath of the law.”

PoliticsNASS Crisis: APC Lawmakers Drag Speaker Dogara, Others To Court by Bash92(op): 8:15am On Jul 22, 2015
Members of the House of Representatives loyal to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have sued the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, and the deputy, Yusuf Lasun, over the allocation of key leadership positions in the house.

Two aggrieved lawmakers asked a federal court to restrain Mr. Dogara from refusing to accept nominees sent by the party leadership as majority leader and deputy; and majority whip and deputy.

The move was the latest twist in a long drawn crisis that has engulfed the National Assembly since its inauguration June 9, over struggle for leadership positions.

At the House, the APC backed Femi Gbajabiamila to be elected speaker. After Mr. Gbajabiamila was defeated by Mr. Dogara, the party proposed he be named Majority Leader, alongside other lawmakers as majority whip and deputy.

Mr. Dogara and his supporters reject the party’s nominees, citing federal character principle since the deputy speaker, Mr. Lasun, is from the south west, as Mr. Gbajabiamila.

In a bid to pressure Mr. Dogara to shift ground, two loyal to the APC leadership, Abubakar Abdullahi (Niger State), and Olajide Jimoh (Lagos State), asked the court to grant an order restraining the Messrs Dogara, Yusuf, Clerk of the House, Sani Omolori, from preventing the announcement of the APC’s nominees as principal officers.

The APC lawmakers asked the court to determine whether Section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution on federal character applies to the internal workings of the National Assembly and, in particular, the House of Representatives with respect to the appointment of principal officers and, in particular the positions of Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader, Majority Chief Whip, and Majority Deputy Chief Whip.

“It is an indisputable fact that the positions in question are party positions, that is, principal offices of the APC, albeit that they concomitantly are also principal positions within the House of Representatives,” they said.

“Consequently, the 1st and 2nd Defendants (Speaker and Deputy Speaker) shall in accordance with Article 9.2 of APC constitution, which states, ‘members of the party shall be obligated to affirm the party’s aims and objectives’, implement the party’s aims as contained in the party’s nomination letter”.

Besides Mr. Gbajabiamila, the APC wants Alhassan Doguwa (North West) as Deputy Leader; Mohammed Monguno, (North East), as the House Whip; and Pally Iriase, (South South), as the Deputy Chief Whip.

PoliticsAPC Leaders Mobilise Osun Residents Against Planned Summit by Bash92(op): 5:25pm On Jul 21, 2015
The All Progressives Congress leaders in Ijesa zone,
Osun State, have asked residents of the state to
mobilise against conveners of the summit on
education and finance scheduled to hold in Osogbo
and put them to shame.
The Secretary of the party in the zone, Femi
Kujembola, said this in a statement made available to
our correspondent in Osogbo on Tuesday.
Two of the conveners of the summit, Mr. Yinka
Odumakin, and a former Attorney General of Osun
State, Mr. Niyi Owolade had announced on Friday that
the summit would hold on Thursday. They stated that
the summit was being organised to enable
knowledgeable people come up with solutions to the
problems confronting the state.
But the APC leaders described the conveners of the
summit as people who had credibility problem while
accusing them of being surrogates of the Peoples
Democratic Party.
He said, “The key players in the proposed summit
could never be the saviour. When did the PDP
become concerned about education and finance in
the state?. They failed to make impact when they had
the opportunity in sixteen years and left everything to
decay.
“The Ijesha zone APC, wish to urge our members,
indigenes and the entire people of the state to
disregard and dissociate themselves from this group
and its efforts to cause chaos by the PDP surrogate.
“We are also appealing to the people of the state to
mobilise against the actors in the so called
questionable summit and shame them. We are urging
security agencies in particular to be on the red alert,
and nip in the bud any tendency that could provoke
violence in the state. “
The APC leaders alleged that the conveners of the
summit were professional detractors who wanted to
capitalise on the financial challenges in the country to
bring Osun State down.
He, however, stated that the PDP would not get
through the back door what it lost during the August
9 governorship election which was conducted in 2014.
Meanwhile, a group known as The Patriots has called
on the State Commissioner of Police, the Director of
the State Security Services and the Commandant of
the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps to beef up security
across the state to void any likely breach of peace and
order by the “suspected opposition elements who are
planing violent protest.”
The group expressed concern over recent protests
which was characterised by violence as a result of non
payment of salaries.

PoliticsAPC, PDP Set To Clash Over Choice Of Fayose As NGF Deputy Chairman by Bash92(op): 7:42am On Jul 21, 2015
Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have given an indication that they will oppose the nomination of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State as Deputy Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF).

THISDAY gathered that possibility of Fayose emerging as the deputy chairman of NGF is already generating controversy based on the alleged role of the Ekiti State governor in the rancorous 2015 presidential campaign against the APC Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

But Fayose has fired back, saying it was the consensus opinion of his PDP colleagues to nominate him, adding that the APC has no reason to interfere since PDP did not dictate their choice of the chairman of NGF.

Fayose who reacted to the alleged concern of some APC governors, said though he remains the longest serving governor among the lot, he is not desperate to become the deputy chairman of the NGF.

However, according to a close source to one of the APC governors in one of the North-central states, the choice of Fayose by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being seen as unpalatable and fraught with hidden agenda.

The APC governors have therefore declared his choice as unacceptable by the party, the source said.

The source further said APC is wary of the controversial governor’s attitude and would not accept him to occupy such a sensitive position, and would rather the PDP find another replacement for him.

“I wonder why the PDP thinks the Ekiti State governor should be the best choice for the deputy chairman of the forum when they could not accept him as the chairman of their PDP Governors’ Forum. The choice is unacceptable to us and we would oppose it when we meet on Wednesday,” the source stated
He recalled the controversial nature of Fayose, noting that the governor had remained a divisive factor during and after the electioneering.

According to him, the APC was not averse to the PDP fielding a level headed governor to deputise for the chairman of the forum, but “certainly not Governor Fayose that is given to reckless and inciting statements and actions.”
