This topic actually brings to mind my humble beginning and reminds me years of sufferness,hardship and toil.As a fatherless child with a focus but illiterate mum,I needed to boycott prep after school hours to sell poff poff,bons,moyin moyin and the most frequent one, ''Akara'' (Cake beans) so that she could actually be able to pay my school fees at Primary and Juniour Sec Sch level.At higher sch level,I had to use bicycle to do the stuff.


Sad enough,there was an incident ( I was nearly kdnapped for ritual only for God and one woman's intervention) that happened quite years ago that I refused to tell my mum because it could have discouraged her from giving me anything to sell.It could have probably stopped my education.

Funny enough during my marriage ceremony, I was carrying my mum in my car while we passed that bushy area and I told my her the incident of the yesteryears.She was like melting!

Looking back at those years now,I nearly weep.But whosoever that hates to be reminded the sufferness of the past,I feel is enjoing the present.Thank God.

It all depends on one thing or the other.At the early stage when the family starts to have children,it alws the first born.After she has stopped child bearing,the attention is shifted to the last born(Now she disturbs even the first born for the survival of the last child).When the children are all grown up to face challenges in their individual life,[color=Black]whosoever[/color][/color][color=#990000][/color][color=#990000][/color][color=#990000][/color][color=#990000] that brings in money is the favourite.

Why do we still have jobless muslims Since allah is the giver of jobs. Does he not love his servants?

The question still remained answered only if you read  between the lines.Allah gives everything He WILLS and jobs are not in exception for the pple He also WILL.If He has not given you job,He must have given you something else.Muslims are to thank Allah for the ones He has given and seeking for the ones He has not.In asking Allah for whatever they want,they still have to pray to Him that if such a thing will make them better muslims and will make them be admitted into Paradise,Allah should make it possible. But if such thing will bring wrath of Allah (in this world and hereafter) to them after getting it,Allah should replace it for them with another which will be beneficiary in this world and the one beyond.Who tells us getting jobs alone could make us meet our needs?Aren't we see successful self employed graduates?.He does for you what your soul can bear!

Just as we have jobless non muslims whose unclothedness have not been able to provide jobs.This buttresses the point earlier made by Olabowale that even NUDITY could not provide a job that Allah refuses to will.Ofcourse if one of the prequisites for getting a job even in a corporate world is unclothedness,then you will agree with me that conscious muslims would have remained unemployed throughout their lives while no non muslims will cry for jobs.BUT THIS IS NOT SO.It Is by HIS will.And because of this,muslims put thier trust in Allah and Allah alone.Whatever He wills for them,NOBODY can go against it.Whatever He denies us,No SOUL can give them unto us.And this is supposed to be the watchwords of all muslims.

I actually had my stand which coincide with what my Imam said when I discussed the issue with him.To this end,I will like to drop my opinnion and here is what he has to say:

The soft ware writing is not evil but what the soft ware will be used for is evil especially when you have a fore knowledge of the proposed usage of the soft ware. My humble position is that it is like aiding and abetting gambling. The instrument to be used here is the soft ware. I think we should know that action is not judged on the basis of sincerity in Islam but it must be correct.
In Islam, what is evil must be avoided, whatever leads to the way of evil must be avoided. The objectives of shariah are:
1. protection of religion
2. protection of family
3. protection of property
4. protection of life
5. protection of intellect
6.  protection of honour.
There is no doubt that gambling  affect religion, family, property and to an extent honour.
We should advise our brother to leave it "Whoever that trusts in Allaah, Allaah suffices them, provide for them from where they do not expect'" Q65:2-7

Honestly, I dont know what to add as you have virtually said it all .My favourite Surah/Ayah is everything contained in that glorious revelation called the Holy Qur'an.But for Allah's sake and the continuity of this thread for Muslim Ummah, I will make the following contributions:


Recite any part of the Glorious Qur'an or call to prayer (Adhan) and you will get my one year old boy,Khalid weeping.
For me,it depends on my mood.Many Ayahs do send thrills down my spine depending on the message they convey.I will categorize my favorite Ayahs and Surahs as thus as they are too numerous to mention one after the other:


1.The mother of the book ,the opening chapter with several names:Suratul Fatiha.what a wonderful chapter! A must to recite for all muslims at least 17 times in a day.
A Surah that allows a muslim to seek for the straight way(guardiance) which Allah responded to in  the following chapter and other parts of the Quran.Wow! You need to go through the Tafsir of this surah to know how magnificient it is.Just as if Muslims wrote it and Allah keeps on answering us from other parts of the Quran.I love it so much when it comes to 1:5 (Thee do we worship And Thine aid we seek) AND I will always quickly put in all my requests before Allah while am at this part of the Surah as Allah had promised to answer us IF ONLY HIS AID AND ASSISSTANCE WE SEEK!


2.When it comes to remembrance of my late dad who left me at the age of three,barely 30 years ago, Wakia is always my favourite.My favourite  Ayah here is 5:89.It gives me reassurrance about Allah granting him this promise of paradise.

3.For the sake of the seal of all Prophets,Muhammed, I choose as my favourite ,Muhammad.The last Ayah  47:38 gives me satisfaction as Allah is not ashamed of subtituting  us if we fail to thread His path.

4.To be sunatic, I choose Al- Mulk and Al-Sajadah as my favourites.For Rosul recommend these for muslims before going to sleep.Two things make me happy here as we carry about our religion activities.In Mulk 67:13 where Allah said '' And whether ye hide Your word or publish it,He certainly has (full) knowledge,Of the secrets of (all) hearts.This is also testified in Al-Araf:55''Call on your Lord With humility and in private For Allah loveth not Those who trespass beyond bounds.'' And the second one is in the Al-Sajdah 32:15. I feel proud and humble here while I make the prostration at the end of the recitation of this Ayah and begin to say''I have prostrated my face to the One who created it,and gave it hearing and site by His might and His power.Glory is to Allah,the Best of creator''.  This I do every night.

On the same note as above,my favourites are also those Surahs :Al-Ala,AL-Kafirun,Al-Ikhlas,Al-Falaq and Al-Nas which the leader of the muslims used to recite to complete the prayers for the day (Safii and Witr)

5.When it comes to protection,Al-Baqarah is my favourite.Here 3 Ayahs are outstanding.Qursiyu(Allah Messanger said whoever reads this when he lies down to sleep will have a guardian from Allah and Satan will not be able to come near him until he rises in the morning) and Amana (2:285-86).For this last Ayahs, he said (SAW) that these two verses will be sufficient for anyone who recites them at night.The verses are wonderful and full of thoughtful prayers.Check them out!

6.Another of my favourite is Yasiin especially 36:82 (Kunfayakun-Majestic power)


7.I like Ayahs where names of Prophets are mentioned one after the other.It makes me to be aware and imagine the infinite degree of Allah's orderliness-the custodian of man history. My favourite here are Mariam 19:41- 57(Where  Ibraheem,Isiaq,Yakub,Moses,Aaron,Idris are beautifully mentioned as prophets and messanger and in 19-51( Warafanahu Mokana Aliyan).Also, Baqarah 2:136 and Ali Imran 3:84 (Ibraheem,Ismail,Isiaq,Yakuub,Moses and Jesus)were mentioned in chronological order.They bowed in Islam! Al-Anam 6:83 (Ibraheem,Isiaq,Yakuub,Nuha,Daud,Sulayman,Ayuub,Yusuf,Moses,Aaroon,Zakariyau,Yahaya,Isa , Elias,Ismail,Elisah,Yunus,Lut) were categorised into four blessed castes!The same in Al-Saffat 37:182(As the prophets called upon Allah and He solved their problems-Worthy of note here is verse 173).


8.Threading Allah's path even alone,my favourite Ayah is 6:162(My prayer,and my service of sacrifice,my life and my death are (all) for Allah, ).Not to feel arrogant about this,what comes to mind is part of the Qunoot, Oh Allah accept my Salat,Siyam,Kiyam,Ruku,Sujuud,




9.Guess why I choose as favourite some Ayahs like 2:214(, when (will come) The help of Allah''Ah! Verily,the help of Allah Is (always) near.)and Ghafir 40:60 (, call on Me;I will answer your (prayer), )?Anytime I hear this,It renews my hope,my faith and my trust in Almighty Allah. I will naturally want this Ayahs to be accompanied by about the 41 Rabannas in the Holy Quran! What else does Man need aside these prayers beautifully composed in this Robannas by Allah( SW)--------The real Lord's prayers 




10. Al-INSHIRAH 94:5-6(So,verily,with every difficulty,there is a relief.Verily with every difficulty,there is a relief)  what comes to my mind when I come across them in the Quran? , My numerous problems.I know Allah will take care of them! It makes it my favourite:THE TIMES OF TROUBLES AND TRIALS


11.Think of legacy I intend to leave behind for my son, I think of Luqman 31:17-19( Oh my son! establish Regular prayer,enjoin what is Just,and forbid what is wrong:And bear with patient constancy Whate'er betide thee;, )  and Al-Baqarah 2:133(, What will ye worship after me?, )They are my favourites



12.(See Allah affirming Rosul and His religion)Al-Fath 48-27-29 ,Telling us the religion to practise Al  Imran 3:19( The religion before Allah is Islam, ) and informing us the best way to die 3:102 (O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be Feared,and die not Except in a state Of Islam)

13.Al-Rahman is superb for recounting the works of the Almighty Allah,Al-Saff is an expo to a trade that will benefit us from Allah's bounty of blessings 61;10 (O ye who believe! Shall I lead you To a bargain that will Save you from A grievous Penalty?) and the real position of Jesus in Islam 61;6 and Al Jumu'ah that teaches how profitable for muslims is jumaat service is (62:9-11)


14.To supplicate to Allah for planning my affair,Ali Imran 3:55(And (the unbelievers) Plotted and planned,And Allah too planned,And the best of planners Is Allah)




15.the list is too numerous to mention oooooo.May ALLAH HELP US.MY FAVOURITE IS THE HOLE OF THE QURAN.

Almost nothing could be added to the justice you have done to this topic. Just like you had, I hav heard about exorcism, attended a lots of lectures and been at a place where exorcism was exercised. The only contribution that I want to make is that if the exorcist does not meet up with one or more of the criteria you mentioned , there is a risk of the Jinn leaving the body of the possessed to the body of the exorcist .But mostly, a case of mocking and warning of exorcist is often heard .


Again, as you have said, most jinns are agents of Shaytan except the practicing muslims among them just like some non practicing muslims (human) and unbelievers (non muslims) could be agents of Shaytan. But in the realm or world of the jinn, they could be categorized into about 5 or 6 among which we have :

1.The Shaytan who is the grand master because Quran describe Shaytan as a jinn in some verses of the Quran. It resemble them in its creation….from fire .So, jinns could be agent of Satan but Satan himself , a jinn.

2.The Jinn dt frightens the children especially in their sleep or dream . Islam teaches us what to do to children every night before they sleep so as to drive these type of jinn away from our homes.


3.The individual jinn in every person just like our shadows .They are mostly call Qorin . Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) was reported to have said that everybody has Qorin and even himself.He furthered that Allah have make his own Qorin subdued to him.That is why all those etiquettes of how a muslim enters the toilet , the house and others as mentioned by Prophet Muhammed (S.AW) and reminded us by a Nairalander ,Jerus must be perfectly observed in other to hands them off of all we do in our homes .They virtually do everything with us if all these things are not observed .This story was related for us to understand how to bring the jinns in ourselves down to what they are supposed to be.2 jinns met and were discussing .One lean and the other fat .The lean one asked the fat one what he does to make him the way he was and he told him he lived wt a non muslim who doesn’t invoke the name of Allah in everything he does. ‘’We eat and do everything together’’, the jinn had said. The lean one said he lived wt a muslim and that b4 he eats ,he says what to be said and I cant join him again . ‘’For this he does for every of his activities’’. Another unknown wonder under this type of jinn is when you visit Alfas who use Jinns in performing ‘’miracle’’ just as Jerus put it .Going to him will make your Qorin subdue for his Qorin (Alfa’s Qorin) and when his Qorin interact with urs ,his Qorin knows ur problem through ur Qorin and since his Qorin interact wt him,his Qorin tells him what he knows and what to do .Similar to this is the resemblance of somebody U see after the person must have reported dead .These are alws Qorins of pple who are not believers or other jinns that are at works.

Great post Jarus. I enjoyed reading it. I have one of the books you mentioned, The World of the Jinn and devils. It was written by Dr. Umar Sulaiman al-Ashqar. It contains some of what you wrote here. I found reading it scary. . . .

That's what I think about christians casting out demons. (no offence).


Superior Jinn can actually cast out an inferior one based on the principle of what Islam calls oppression which particularly raises its head when a smaller jinn is cast out by the superior for him to reside in the one who is possessed .Islam frowns at oppression and the principle is No man must mingle wt the jinns and jinns are not to mingle wt men .If they do ,they are to be exorcized .There is nothing wrong in a muslim jinn to cast out a devilish jinn in man for him to set the man free .But if aftermath he decides to stay,it has gone beyond its boundary .There has been cases where Mallam asked some jinns why they were where they were and they eventually said they helped the possessed to cast out the initial oppressors(jinns).They had to leave when the mallam intervened. It is an injustice in the sight of Allah to disturb each other as we live in different worlds.They, like the human being will be called to account for their deeds.


Man don’t be offended , Christains are very near to us and they could be good pple too .There is no place where Allah said in the Quran that they will not be admitted into paradise except those who heard the teachings of the last prophet but failed to comply .Also Remember these Quranic verses:

‘’Strongest among men in enmity To the Believers wilt thou Find the Jews and Pagans: And nearest among them in love To the Believers wilt thou find those who say, ‘’we are Christains’’: Because amongst these are men devoted to learning And men who have renounced The world, and they Are not arrogant’’. Interpretation of the meanings of the Holy Quran 5 vs 82

Also, the interpretation of the meanings of the Holy Quran 5 Vs 69 says:
‘’ Those who believe (in the Quran), Those who follow the Jewish (scriptures),And the Sabians and the Christains-Any who believe in Allah And the Last Day, And work righteously-On them shall be no fear, Nor shall they grieve.

If at the end of this, somebody wants to differ from the decree of Allah, we cant not force such a person to agree and not to mock as Allah put it succinctly clear when He said:
‘’………If Allah had so willed, He would have made you A single people , but (His Plan is) to test you in what He hath given you; so strive As in a race in all virtues.The goal of you all is to Allah; It is He that will show you The truth on the matters in which ye dispute’’.Quran 5 Vs 48




‘’And now they reject The truth when it reaches them ; but soon shall they learn the reality of what They used to mock at’’ Quran 6 Vs 5. Also Quran 6 Vs 7 intuitively said ‘’If We had sent Unto thee a written (Message) on parchment, So that they could Touch it with their hands The Unbelievers would Have been sure to say: ‘’This is nothing but obvious magic!’’

In other not to force anybody into believing which I know you know is not within your power Allah said in part of Quran 6Vs 39:

‘’Allah sends astray whom He wills and He guides on the straight path whom He wills’’. All these are meanings of the interpretation of the Holy Quran.

A demonic spirit that assumes many forms. Sometimes it may attack you by appearing in form of your dead relative thereby making you believe that dead people can appear live on earth. sometimes, it comes by possessing you and guiding you to one of his emissaries for exorcism, if those people succeed in casting him out[which they will because they work together], you'll be hooked to that false faith. Familiar spirits can also attack you in the form of an angel thereby making you believe the message he gave you is from almighty God.
What you have described is still the works of the jinns.
have you heard of familiar spirits?. That is phoney spirits that mimic the evil spirit or sometimes mimic the spirit of God?. The alhaji may have dealt with that. Do the treat cases of abikun/ogbanje?[/color][color=#990000]


In Islam, any exorcist that is short of all those criteria mentioned ,are only camouflaging and if they perform exorcism be it as mimic spirit/jinn/familiar jinn/ phoney jinn are still jinn themselves or tools of jinns (as they work together) . Even if Alhaji have used this means (I am not saying he did),he had not done it in Islamic way and had only be part of the oppression displayed by the jinn. And this, a trusted mallam will definitely fix out.So in Islam,there is nothing like familiar jinn because you cant still get things right if a jinn resides in you

Do you know that evil spirits can leave her host and possess the exorcist or those standing by during exorcism?. What has islam done to take care of those that indulge in the practice of exorcism so as not to get hurt or possessed?

If the exorcist is not strong enough, has no clear knowledge and understanding of what he is doing as per possessing spiritual criteria mentioned by Jarus , the jinn could leaves the poseesed and enters him. sometimes he could slap him .But if he has, nothing will happen .The jinn cannot actually enter anybody present because he knows that the exorcist will definitely conquers him (the jinn) again since the exorcist will alws recorgnize the presence of the jinn.(this last sentence is my opinion as I have not heard or read anything of such anywhere but I can make verification if the need be .Do not hesitate to throw it back at me if confirmed not correct by Islamic faith.I don’t want to say what Islam has not said) .
