jason123: If they (Yorubas) have no say, then support the next gubernatorial aspirant of Igbo origin in Lagos and see if he will win! Out of EVERY ETHINC GROUP IN THE COUNTRY its only YOU GUYS that continuously tussle the onwership of Lagos, Abuja and Port-harcourt. Why?!
I have not seen any ethnic group tussle Onitsha or Enugu, so what is the obsession?!

All states had military governors until 1999, so what gives?! Btw, before that, Lagos state had Jakande, a civilian governor.
they have a say now ,they didnt until 1999 ,did you even read my post ewu they didnt have a say on how lagos became what it is today that why no other yoruba city can boast of anything.

alj harem: What do you mean by no say ?

This is the sort of statement that makes indigenes go gaga angry angry angry Bashr8 watch your mouth angry angry Aunofia
my friend shut up after the north the south west is the next place where ethnic tensions occur plus warri in south south ,that alone disqualifies these places, if u want to see accomodating people go to calabar, enugu ,owerri ,akwaibom, abuja, ph nobody goes around asking you where your from in those cities

Brixtonyute: Have you ever seen Yoruba claim any part of the East??

If Lagos is 'no man's land', what about the indigenous people of Lagos?? Even Chinese people don't call Beijing "no man's land."

And have you ever seen an English guy born and raised in Northern Ireland being called Irish? Some of you guys need to grow up, and embrace the reality...
go and tell that to the non lagos yorubas and military that called lagos no mans land
PoliticsRe: Yorubas Are The Best In Accommodating Strangers In Nigeria - By Sam Omatseye by bashr8: 4:12pm On May 12, 2012
jason123: I am not even Yoruba but it seems that there is a pattern. From Abuja to Port-harcourt, now Lagos

Why is it only people of IGBO origin that are so interested in fighting the indigenes of Lagos?! What is it with some of you guys?!
fighting who , when you visited abuja ,ph like u claimed did you see indigens beating up non indigiens and chasing them away? yorubas had no say in llagos until 1999 when it became part of the southwest after the military left by then it have already become cosmopolitan just like every other major city in nigeria so i will really like to know what accomodation they are giving others that them are not getting in other non yoruba cities.

Brixtonyute: I don't know why those who hate Yoruba so much, are the same people who can't live without them...

Yoruba are no accommodating; yet you live in your millions in their part of the country...

Yoruba are dirty, yet you have substituted your culture with theirs....

Yoruba are cowards, yet you blame them for the ill-fated civil war..

Ibadan is a big village, yet your people live there in their millions...

Lagos is a big slum, yet when they showed "Welcome to Lagos", most of the slum dwellers there were not even Yoruba. And you're always quick to let people know you make up a large chunk of people living in Lagos..

I rate Yoruba people a lot, you guys are the 'bestest'. cool
shut upthere the same way yorubas live in millions in the east and north , i dont know why yoruba iq is soo low , lagos is not considered yorubaland remove lagos and show us the silly proof of ur being accomodating more than eastern and southern cities or even middle belt cities. untill 1999 lagos was in the hands of military who are often non yorubas so i will like to know at which point of history yorubas welcomed non yorubas into lagos . olodos. topic like these is the more reason this country should disintegrate fast.
PoliticsRe: Yorubas Are The Best In Accommodating Strangers In Nigeria - By Sam Omatseye by bashr8: 4:03pm On May 12, 2012
Chinom: For the upteenth time, i will remind Yorubas that what lagos is today has nothing to do with the Yorubas. Yorubas had no say and still have no say in who lives in Lagos. They did not offer any accommodation, the accommodation was taken. First by the British and later by various military regimes before they decided to move the seat of govt to Abuja. FYI Lagos forms the biggest obstacle to Nigeria splitting up today.
dont mind these block headed yorubas. even with constant harrasment of people in lagos they still open their mouth , for them nigeria startes and ends in yorubaland. tomorrow not gwari people will come out and say they are the most accomodating because federal govt built abuja there. its only in yorubaland that people go around askng you what ethnic group you are , in other cities like ph, onitsha ,warri ,benin , abuja nobody cares where you are from.

BIGER BOY: Yes before you start castigating me... I posed the question to get ur attentions... But it is indeed true some Igbo men were caught as BH suppliers in suleja last year and others were caught trying to bring arms into the country throu Ghana sometimes back....

So what am getting at is let's stop all this tribal bashing, there are Igbo, youruba, Hausa criminals amongst us; under the umbrella of boko haram or PDP, it doesn't mean all Igbos are criminal, neither does it mean yorubas are sponsors or hausas executors.... What it's means is that " every soul that sinneth shall die" (bible) and "no burden bearer shall bear the burden of another" (Quran).... So a ciminal is a criminal. Let's stop this childish ethno-religious branding angry

Just imagine the enemy (however u choose to describe it) is united in killing Hausa, igbo and Yoruba and makes no distinction when detonating a bomb, yet we are chidishly divided in solving and facing the enemy.. Common guys we can do better.

yoruba puppets of the northerners are at it again , no wonder a topic that have nothing to do with yoruba as soon as the north is mentioned the yoruba slaves are always out to defend their northern masters no matter what , the hausa fulanis are butchering yorubas all over the yorubaland from osun to ogun to oyo but yorubas are not woried as long as their northern masters masters are happy and other southerners are also afrected , obasanjo have been recruited once more by the north to serve as a puppet to betray the south come 2015, typical yorubas always ready to sell out for a plate of ewedu, shamful .not one single yoruba leader have died peacefully and decently , not even one , more than half died in the hands of their northern masters the others either commited suicide like awoilowo or were never heard of.

PoliticsRe: The Controversy Over Lagos. . . .na Who Own The Land ? by bashr8: 8:55pm On May 06, 2012
aworis own lagos we have always all agreed on that, but other migrants such as hausas ,ijaw, igbos, yorubas ,efik , ibibio etc are now part of lagos since they own properties there unless aworis want all these groups (including yorubas ) to leave lagos which i dont think is possible since their population is relatively small .

btw its yorubas and army that started calling lagos no mans land the more reason aworis are angry with yorubas and telling them to leave lagos

the Aworis Youth Mandate under the able leadership of Adekunle bola has asked that all yoruba of non- aworis extraction leeching on their development and resources should start preparing to vacant the state.

he explained that yorubas come to lagos to feast on their resources, contributing absolutely nothing in return.

"an Ekiti from his jungle village will come to Lagos to drag jobs like security and vigilante with locals, so it time to tell them all who are the real owners of Lagos. "

once the permission is sanction there will be a exodus, so it is better they start packing before the time reaches. as the say " a stitch in time saves nine."

This is 21st century, NO TIME FOR PARASITISM !

even the abokis are contributing more than these yorubas, Awori people shall not stand and watch her resources pillaged and ravaged by these ingrates and rascals.

he went on to explain that most crimes in the state are perpetuated by neighboring states especially Ogun people and ijebus.

i disagree with him anyway.

Ondo southwest nigeria Ritualist, Samuel Olatunji, Others Arrested for Hunchback Murder

FOUR suspected ritualists were apprehended by the Ondo State Police Command at the weekend for allegedly killing a 25-year-old hunchback, Adeoye Dowo, in Ago Alaye village of the state.

The suspects - Samuel Olatunji, Dayo Araromi, Lekan Holo and Oluwatosin Elebile - allegedly conspired and lured Dowo through a lady to the bush where they strangled him to death before removing his hunch.

Addressing reporters in his office, the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Sani Magaji, said Dowo's father reported that his son was missing and investigations revealed that the victim was kidnapped by Olatunji, who later confessed to the crime during interrogation. Magaji said Olatunji led the police detectives to the scene where the hunchback was murdered and the hunch neatly removed.

Olatunji confirmed his involvement in the crime, saying the victim was lured by a lady to the bush where he and his accomplices strangled him to death and removed his hunch.

We contacted a herbalist on how to make quick money and he assured us that if we could bring a hunch for ritual, we would become rich and we immediately swung into action by employing some ladies to lure Dowo to where we killed him before removing the hunch.

We kept the hunch in a plastic (container) and hid it in a bush but unfortunately for us the police traced us and I was apprehended while others ran away.

“Before we got to where we kept the hunch, they had taken it away and I suspected my friends took it in order not to leave any trace.”

But the herbalist, Oluwatosin Elebile, denied his involvement in the crime, saying the suspects only came to him for assistance.

The police said efforts are on to arrest the missing suspects, while two others - Oyeleyinbo Patrick and Fatunwa Tunde - were arrested at the herbalist's house for unlawful possession of firearms.

Some of the items recovered from the two suspects include one handgun and a dane gun with five live cartridges.

In another development, one Sunday James and others allegedly terrorizing residents of Akure and its environs have been arrested by the men of the anti-robbery squad.

The other suspects - Yohanna Francis, Mohammed Ismaila, Usman Abubakar and Mutari Buda - were allegedly behind the robbery that took place along the Emure Eporo Road earlier this year where a police Inspector was killed. The police also arrested some suspected cattle rustlers in Akure, the state capital.

where did you get the bold from? "missing in southwestern Nigeria" was not in the original news! Where did you get it from? Is it made in aba news? Shmeless Ibo thief!
notice how south south and south east people kidnap for money while southwest yoruba people kidnap people and use them for rituals, i rather be kidnaped in igboland than in yorubaland.

Female Undergraduate Escapes From Ritualists in ogun state ,south west nigeria yorubaland
A 200-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State, Miss Sandra Balogun, has narrated how she escaped from ritualists’ den in a bush near Lisa in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.

According to Sandra, 18, her neighbour at Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos lured her to a two-room apartment in a bush around Lisa village where he handed her to the ritualists.

She said: “my neighbour lured me to Ijoko area of Ogun State, pretending that he will help me to release a music album because I am also a good singer. After Ijoko, we trekked through a footpath to reach Lisa village.

“When we got to the isolated two-room building, the suspect handed me over to the ritualists saying, ‘this is the girl’ and he disappeared”.

She stated that her captors took her to a canal where they washed her head. Then she was taken to a room and a liquid substance was given to her to lick. When she refused to lick the liquid, Sandra claimed her hands were tired backwards.

She disclosed that after she was forced to lick the liquid substance, she was left alone in a room. She said the kidnappers later came with another victim.

“They opened the door and later took the victim away to the canal to perform head washing ritual,” she said, adding that this afforeded her the opportunity to escape.

Sandra said she reported the incident to her father and Sango Ota Police Station and the neighbour who lured her to the bush was arrested.

When the suspect led a team of policemen from Lagos and Ogun state to the hideout of the suspected ritualists, they jumped into the canal and escaped. But a woman said to be the wife of one of the ritualists was arrested and is now in police custody.

Sandra told the police that the ritualists stole her N61,000 and her laptop, adding that her father gave her the money as part of her school fees.

The two suspects are currently assisting the police to arrest the fleeing ritualists.
