Genesis Chapter states clearly that Adam and Eve were created on the eighth day, after the God had rested on the seventh day, and after "creating the humans in his image both male and female created he them" on the sixth day.

Their job descriptions are different, the image being told to rule the earth and multiply and subdue, while Adam was told to tend a tiny poxy garden.

And their pay/reward is different, with the image being told to eat every fruit from every seed bearing tree while Adam had a pay cut of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
