This is ignorant, since you don't just transform plenty of unused land into farmland just like that.

Don't you consider some of that unused land is unused because it is rocky, or perhaps too far away from water and transport that might have in the past be directed, with government spending, to the desirable land that is already owned and not to the unused land?

It is also naive to think the people who decades ago chose the land they wanted for themselves would leave the better easily transformed to farmland for those coming now to easily transform the rest to farmland. But I bet you also think the whites who transformed land to farmland completely ignored the land the black people were farming for themselves, because black South Africans were not farming before white people arrived and transformed land to farm?

Some blacks who might want to transform land to farmland today might not have the history that might enable them to get the assistance and loans at desirable rates given to those with historical land ownership records, or have access to the international markets the long time land owners have access to etc, etc, etc.

But like you said, I don't expect you to understand how any of that enters into this conversation.

An EPA spokesperson told The Epoch Times that the agency has been reconsidering the Biden administration’s power plant emissions regulations, commonly referred to as “Clean Power Plan 2.0,” since March.

The Biden-era Clean Power Plan marks the third major attempt by the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. It follows the Obama administration’s original Clean Power Plan, which required power plants to shift toward lower-carbon sources of electricity.
The ACE rule was struck down by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in January 2021, on the final full day of Trump’s first term. That ruling was itself overturned in 2022, when the Supreme Court ruled that the EPA lacked the authority under the Clean Air Act to implement the Obama Clean Power Plan as it was originally designed.
The Biden-era regulation that the Trump EPA now seeks to replace, formally known as Reg. 2060-AV09, was finalized in early 2024. It mandates that existing coal-fired power plants reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90 percent if they plan to continue operating beyond 2039, while imposing even stricter limits on newly built natural gas-fired power plants.
