If Nordstream 2 is not within USAs gift to stop, why was Ted Cruz pushing to have it written into law to stop it in the USA?

Of course you know that USA can sanction any company working with Nordstream 2 such as Siemens, Rolls Royce etc and take it off line forever. They can only lay pipes, they cannot pump gas without turbines, technology etc from. companies that fall under USA say so, that's why Merkel had to go begging Biden to lift the sanctions. Same way both John F Kennedy and Ronald Reagan sanctioned Nordstream 1.

USA can absolutely stop Nordstream 2 from a technical aspect by ensuring no company that works on it will ever eat again, while Germany can stop it's certification. Both have power to stop it using legal means.




It is not a money cow for Russia in the short term as flows have been stopped for a month now. It can always be fixed in the medium term when Russia needs it to be. But the implied threat to Norwegian pipelines in the short term is pressing to Europe and pressing on Europes ability to warm itself this winter.

USA can never attack its allies infrastructure in International waters. It's an act of war and the surest way to break up the alliance against Russia. You must be new to Russian psychological game. This is just one of their escalation levers to put pressure on Europe and divide it. 10% of the dumb ones will believe it's USA, while 50% of the wise ones will know all Norwegian pipelines are under threat and want to deescalate so Europe is not at risk this winter. Both achieve Russia's aims.

UK prices capped at £2.5k per annum for a typical household usage by new Prime Minister. My usage is more than the typical household but I had already fixed mine at the start of the war at a rate lower than the Govt rate. Ontop that, Govt is giving everyone £400 off their bills from October which means I will pay less than £2k for the next 12 months, about the same as I paid last year. UK does not use Russian gas even before the war, we are only subject to the price of American LNG

In the Ukraine case why do they need it to join NATO?
In the video I posted, joining NATO is one of the reasons Putin the bully invaded. The hidden reason is that he does not want Ukraine to replace Russia as the dominant energy supplier to Europe. Again the Ukrainians have been killing pro Russia separatists in the Eastern Ukraine so that was another excuse for him to invade and protect the mostly Russian speaking Eastern Ukrainians.
So the invasion is two fold. Get their oil and prevent them from undercutting Russia. Ukraine has been charging Russia billions for the pipeline through their territory forcing Russia to build several pipelines bypassing Ukraine.
