What I don't really understand is the figures being touted about That 80% of new cases are delta variant. I have scoured the web and there does not seem any normal test for the strain unless in a complex lab that does genome sequencing. Mumbai got its first genome sequencing lab just two days ago for instance.
Covid tests indicate presence of the rona, not the particular strain.
Im sceptical to an extent of the prevalence of the delta variant, the others variants are still not rooted out.And the fact that there does not seem progress in rolling out a drug to treat the rona. Everything we hear is get vaccinated.

The electric power needed if from green sources will I think have to be from nuclear.
There is such great fear and opposition to nuclear energy in regards to safety. I think there is some reactors that are not radioactive . And the hazardous waste has a way of being recycled. I read somewhere that its already being done.
As for green energy and carbon non emissions that will take another generation or two.Renewable energy is not reliable depending on the source ie wind, solar . Hydros are massive and limited by the volume and height of the dam.
Geothermal production is in the 1% range required.

EV will come down eventually and loads of investment are especially in public tx systems, power investment, research and production facilities.

Depends though. It depends on the station. Sometimes you get fast charge or slow charge and it takes about an hour or two at max. One thing about those Teslas is that it's fun to drive and very fast and quiet but the maintenance is in the high side and only Tesla can work on your vehicle.

I know about that very well. My wife bought a Tesla a year ago and she charges it at Walgreens just two blocks from our house and she gets about 325 to 350 miles per charge and that's good enough. You don't have to deal with Oil change or Transmission oil change and all the other craps. I used to be weary of it till wifey bought it but i think that's where the future is heading. Here in US, you get a special rebate when you buy an electric vehicle and that goes into several Thousands of Dollars.

A charging station nearby works out for you .

That's the future in Western World and i read somewhere yesterday that GM and Mercedes Benz are saying all their vehicles will be all Electric by 30 years. That's why countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE are diversifying their economies away from oil. A big issue to me is how far can a single charge get, and the duration it takes to charge.
Looking at simple devices like mobiles and tablets, the biggest money making invention will be an instantaneous charger. Fix this for car batteries and the market will be available.
