Human resources management is a big issue in any organization no matter how small. This is the same issue I'm having ust that I've tried to manage to my utmost ability.
I run a car wash, laundry, restaurant and a bar at same place, so I decided to bring my wife's younger one to come make a life for himself. Free food, free accommodation and no pressure, just do your work collect money. I was at home towards the end of the lock down when my customers started informing me that he was coercing them to employ him for home service. I nearly cried.
Dude went round teeing people I was owing him for months. Same money my and my wife was keeping for him to help him save cos he's a spen thrift. It hurt me badly

Hmmm u are damn right;it could be pretty difficult esp when u attach little emotion to biz. A frnd who had nothing serious doing has been pleading I take him to join my biz. I narrated everything to him, took him like own blood. Free accommodation, free food, zero training fee, free access to even my personal stuffs. Just learn d hook, show seriousness, I will support to set u up and u be ur boss. Na so my guy begin form boss ontop another man's years of hardwork, begin they corner my money to his account, begin send girlfriends money....last last i had to terminate d deal, and he returned to where he was. He is still a friend buh not on money matters.....I have had some ugly experiences with pple working for me but it cant stop me from being nice to them cos who knos moro. Luckily i had a nice lady working for me today, she is d best in d world, takes my little biz like hers. For dat singular act, i cherish her so much. Showers her with gift, she lacks nothing i can afford; na so hubby begin para o, say she is now my wife. Hahaha wahala be like mtn, e dey everywhere u go!

Just keep pushing, do ur best, manage ur biz more wisely and God will see u through

@Ipringoflife
Your story is touching buh u have to be strong and face reality.
Sorry to say this, u are even lucky to have parents who can afford to train u. In my case, I did all by mysef. I am d last child but i struggled like d first. Am bright academically, I just love sch. So, despite d fact dat dia was no money, I was driven by passion. I did some odd jobs so as to get educated. I hawked, and later ended up a motorcycle operator. With d latter, I was able to train myself in one popular university. B4 my graduation, I lost my only brother. Family responsibility fell on me real big, wasnt easy but thank God I latergraduated with 2:1 despite all. I left sch in 2014, served 2015; job hunted to no avail. The ones I got then had paltry pay with unimaginable job description. I cud have taken them up since I had no option buh I didn't cos I got an advantage: 'street orientation'. I prefer wearing rags doing an odd job dat I gather up to like 60k a month to putting on a suit to a work dat will pay me 25k monthly. With dat mentality, I placed my certificates and grammar one side, returned to d street with my bike; made few cash and joined biz. Who tie with peanut salary epp? I also did data analysis jobs on freelancing basis. Guy, there is cool money in it. I already knew how to handle few statistical packages like spss, excel,Eview, stata. So i trained my client offline and online (dis nairaland helped me too). Like i said i gathered d money i got from all my hustle and headed for biz and it paid off. D family responsibility lessened, and today am even training nephew and niece, was able to put up a structure and landed property.Things i never imagined in doz job hunting days. Now with my certificates, if i see good job, fine. If I no see, I will still be fine. I never put all my eggs in one basket.

So be strong,be courageous and always remember u are not d only one who has passed or passing thru dat rough road! It will surely get better!

When I saw dis headline this morning , I doubted such happening; not until I witnessed d same tin dis afternoon at Ikotun market, lagos.

Now Owned a Roofing Company In Nigeria[/quote]

5yrs after graduation, has not been easy but I thank God for where I am today!
I had to quote this man cos he is good in what he does, he is an honest biz man...I recall last yr wen i was on d search of some1 to roof my house outside lagos, searched online and stumbled on one of his posts, it was insightful, called and chatted him up and he cleared me on d areas I was confused. Though I couldn't contact him again cos of d distant location of d structure but wen one of my frnds wanted to roof his dat same year I searched for him and gave d job to his company; he did a nice job.But I never told him we 've met online b4.

Engr Imran Ayubb, u recall one young guy and a man dat called n met u in d gate of first bank, sobo busstop whom ur company roofed d man's house at Ayobo in Dec 2019...I am d young guy; nice to meet u in this forum. Keep it up sir, ur sincerity will keep on taking u up d ladder of success. I recommend him in case u are in need of roofing services!

Pls nairalanders, I am an Economist and biz man based in lagos;always on d look out for good biz opportunities!

God will surely see u thru bro!

Dis is my story, mayb u can pick courage from it!

I trained myself in d uni via okada, graduated with good result with profnal certs, finished service but cudnt land well paid job. I made a resolution never to go bak to okada, not cos of anytin, jst a personal decision. I got job offers but if d hustle dey ur body u no fit settle for a monthly pay less ur earnings from d hustle. Just like ur ordeal, some of my frnds dat never attended sch had well fed families, had lands, built house with good biz. To some extent, I was discouraged. I was blaming mysef for using my hustle to go to uni instead of investing in biz.
With d help of one of my coursemates, I first ventured into one online biz, made few cash but lost abt a million in a year. For d second time, I became devasted and confused. I had to go back 2 square one...learnt a skill n kicked off a small biz(nylon production). Like play like play d altitude came bak, I ventured into a more bigger biz...As God may have it, in less dan 2yrs I bought my own land, completed our family house and warming up for anoda small structure.

One tin I learnt is, never to give up, my schooling was never a waste, though not employed but it's helping me in biz..,not forgetting I can still be employed if i choose to. Importantly, I neva took to pride cos am a graduate, I humbled mysef. In fact d (foodstuff) biz am into 2da was tot me by my frnd who is not a graduate. I respect him and he respects me too. Some customers here upon learning dat am a graduate become shocked dat a graduate can mellow and do dis kind of biz..but who cares? So long it feeds me well, degree can goto hell. I have not gotten there, am also on d lookout for better opportunities.

My dear, jst stay focused, u will get there one day IJN Amen!

Romance / Re: Her Mother Said She Can't Marry An Ebonyi Man by Bassmetrics: 11:33pm On Apr 20, 2020
Dear brother, I know it will be too hard to move on, but if u ask me I will insist u move on and let her be. I don't think she deserves ur type.
I once had a similar experience years back. I am an ebonyian who fell in love with one Imo babe...as a fresh graduate then, I had only little in my coffers, so she felt I may not make it but more importantly she succumbed to family pressure dat she can't marry an ebonyian. I was really pained, but had no oda option but to move on. In fact, d rejection gave me d big push I needed to hustle more! I became more focused driven and concentrated.

Years later, when d man is made. she came back pleading dat I accept her back but it was rather late cos another filled d vacuum she created.

Career / Re: Eview, Stata, Spss - Earn From Home by Bassmetrics: 3:02pm On Oct 05, 2017
Good day fellow nairalanders, i wish to say dat i sincerely appreciate everyone who had made bold to take part or indicate interest in our training.

I also want to re-emphasize that we offer offline n online training buh we ar currently in d east and as such we only reach out our distant clients via online.

Now, I have bn receiving concerns frm prospective trainees regarding d effectiveness of d online training. Some are concerned abt d cost of subscriptn to power such medium. We hv engaged in training of ppl over yrs, online had proven to b highly effective n cost saving. Diaz no special subscriptn to b made except ur normal subscriptn u are using to read dis conversatn. If for eg we ar training u via whatsapp...we will schedule classes for u,break each package into topics,u wil hav ur writing material, it wil jst b like we ar chatting buh we ar teaching n illustratn including using images/screenshots, u wil have d data for d training, so u can decide to practise along or do dat afta each class. Dis will also b accompanied wit short video clips(few kbs) of d same tin we ar learning, wia u wil watch us do it and u wil do d same. U wil also have d manual wich we explain d same tin. Afta each class u wil b given a little task, we get d feedback in d nxt class....Dis continues for 2wks till u ar sound.
D classes ar usually fun,and we hav employed it and our trainees are already making Money in dia places of operation.
D reason for dis online training is simple, dis is an enterpreneurial cum partnering venture. We have clients in various states of d federatn cos data analysts are needed everywia,we cant be in all diz states same time, and so we train u to train odas in ur state of domicile. Some of our clients hosts seminars and invite us to participate cos in as much mouth watering as it seems, hi level of expertise is built over time. Sometimes u may hit a work u cant handle and u may need to consult a senior colleague.
Again, if u ar smart u will alwaz carve out a niche for ursef for eg u ar a physiologist, d fact dat i trained u doz nt mean i can analyze data from physiology study beta dan u. As long as physiology is concerned u ar my boss cos datz nt my profession. So if i train u today,u work on ursef n by moro u wil surely be beta dan I wen analyzing data in dat field...If i hit work in dat area dat i cant handle i may need to consult u. Data analysis is fun...u wil enjoy respect from both subordinates and superiors. So dont get it twisted, dis is 21C a century of idea sharing, a century of digital world, a century of networking.... Online saves cost, d stress d time d energy d money. As far as we concerned, i alwaz maintain dat physical presence do not determine proficiency but d quality of training u received. So leav d effectiveness of d online training for us, we knw hw best to handle it... Stop seeing it as one herculean task, its actually simple n cool wit any good tutor. Its jst like wen ppl giv u work to analyz dey wil b seeing it as one mystery buh dis is sth u can do in less dan an hour, lol! Dis is our biz we knw hw best to run it to meet clients' satisfaction. Chill n enjoy ur training!

You didn't lie.
I'm a living testimony of what you posted.

I could remember how students were running after me to help them with their projects during my undergraduate days..
In fact, some lecturers even referred some students who were having difficulties to meet me for possible solutions...

I made a lot then... Even while serving, I was still doing that for those on campus.

I wish to venture 'big time' into this because I have flair for it a lot. Though, I'm not a 'guru' in the use of SPSS... Still learning but I research a lot...

I encourage others who have flair for this to try and buckle down on this.

Glad, experience is d best teacher, its beta experienced dan told.
