I can relate Op. My little niece living with me makes 5k daily minimum, 20k weekly (sells in any 4days of her choice), and 80k monthly by just supplying crayfish. 80k is some graduates salary with stress attached.
In less than half a yr she co-joined me to buy a land in our state; and currently working on how to complete her father's bungalow. This is just a girl of abt 21. It was easy for her cos i pay all d bills, so all her earning goes to savings n investment. Some local stuffs people look down on really pays only if one can take away shame n pride; more especially apply patience.

I once had a similar encounter with a coursemate(lady). It was in my finals, I was done with my project writing but there was something in my work I wanted to know more beyond degree level. I mailed one of my outstanding lecturers doing his doctorate abroad for further explanations. He refused, telling me that I shud meet my supervisor, that he cant assist any std on project,but I told him my supervisor does not specialize in that area, and so knew little about my work. Moreover, d project work is done and submitted, but I needed to know more cos I have interest in d work. After pleading, d man refused blatantly.So I moved on.

Weeks later, a female coursemate approach me for help with her project work. She told me she was confused abt something. Dat after writing some chapters she sent it to someone to vet. D person did and e-mailed d corrections to her, but she don't know how to fix it cos d corrections must affect her modelling. I told her to open her mailbox and when she did, lo and behold d vetting came from same lecturer who denied me a little explanation. I just attended to her and moved on.

A year after our graduation, d lecturer returned and married that my coursemate! I guess they might have been dating secretly all d while.

So we can't rule out that possibility. Anything is possible

@Op, d solution to ur problem begins with u. First, if u are truely sure dat d cause of d whole issue is d false accusation, then for d sake of peace, bring down ur ego as d elder, visit and apologize to ur kid bro wife. Make peace with their family first, whether ur wife is in support of ur action or not. With that u can win d heart of ur brother, once it's done u can then relate to him man to man, and u two can fathom way to authorize ur wives to make peace or at least not escalate the matter.

Note this may not go down well with ur wife cos she is the one at fault here (based on wot u said). But once u make peace with ur bros family, and u and urs bros man up, she will be left no option than give up. And with time things will fall in place.

I once had that experience. My wife accused me of having an affair with my niece living with us. D truth was that I was extremely close to the lady, I really love her cos she is intelligent, hardworking, respectful and wise but not to d extent of committing such sacrilegious act. My mum and elder sis advised me to bring her (my niece) home for peace to reign but I stood my ground cos she did no wrong, she has been very helpful in my business. I maintained a good relationship with my niece and her family, when my wife found out she was left alone in d trouble she was brewing, she calmed down by force.

I pray I find that kind of connectivity I had with her in my wife; for d sake of my little son & unborn children. It has not been easy truely. I just don't want to be an unfaithful husband and/or irresponsible father.

Op even if this ur story runs into 3pages i will read all with keen interest cos I had a similar experience. I am a kind of cool headed guy who never even had a girl friend till I graduated from the Uni. I was more focused on my studies back then. In my case, she(d lady in qsn) was pushed into marriage to a guy she felt could take better care of her financially as at then. I annoyingly got married to another lady, and we lost touch. Few years later, she realised her mistakes. she called, apologized for hurting me, I forgave her but there was no way we can be together again. Now married but She is not really happy in her marriage so I am.She has confessed this to me many times. We were both putting up with our spouses. There is this undying inner love between us which we have been fighting to subdue but.... currently we live in different cities, each time I visit d state where she stays with her husband for biz, she wil be trying to fix an appointment, but I will keep on giving her flimsy excuses cos I know it may end up in sex. We may not be strong to hold our bodies. Its not about lust, i have a genuine feeling for her, its just that we are both married.

I have warned her on several occasions to face her marriage while I face mine. But one way or the other we will still end up talking to each other. The truth is that I feel more happy talking to her than even my wife. I love her far more than I love my wife; it is exactly same with her, but its rather late. I have lived with this emotional torture for over six years now. @Op, both are great choices but do whichever that will leave you self fulfilled. In 2019 I was in ur shoe. We were just 2 sons my mum gave birth to. My elder brother raised me up to secondary sch level, and I had to fund mysef to the university. He had a house he was building before he died in 2013. So when I had my own money, I completed his first. The decision didn't go down so well with my wife but I had to, he was there for me. Now am on my own structure and am happy for d decision I took cos it made me fulfilled.

Human resources management is a big issue in any organization no matter how small. This is the same issue I'm having ust that I've tried to manage to my utmost ability.
I run a car wash, laundry, restaurant and a bar at same place, so I decided to bring my wife's younger one to come make a life for himself. I was at home towards the end of the lock down when my customers started informing me that he was coercing them to employ him for home service. I nearly cried.

I narrated everything to him,took him like own blood. Free accommodation, free food,zero training fee,free access to even my personal stuffs. Just learn d hook, show seriousness, I will support to set u up and u be ur boss. Na so my guy begin form boss ontop another man's years of hardwork, begin they corner my money to his account, begin send girlfriends money....last last i had to terminate d deal, and he returned to where he was. He is still a friend buh not on money matters.....I have had some ugly experiences with pple working for me but it cant stop me from being nice to them cos who knos moro. Luckily i had a nice lady working for me today, she is d best in d world, takes my little biz like hers. For dat singular act, i cherish her so much. Your story is touching buh u have to be strong and face reality.
Sorry to say this, u are even lucky to have parents who can afford to train u. In my case, I did all by mysef. I am d last child but i struggled like d first. Am bright academically, I just love sch. So, despite d fact dat dia was no money, I was driven by passion. I did some odd jobs so as to get educated. I hawked, and later ended up a motorcycle operator. With d latter, I was able to train myself in one popular university. B4 my graduation, I lost my only brother. Family responsibility fell on me real big, wasnt easy but thank God I latergraduated with 2:1 despite all. I left sch in 2014, served 2015; job hunted to no avail. The ones I got then had paltry pay with unimaginable job description. I cud have taken them up since I had no option buh I didn't cos I got an advantage: 'street orientation'. I prefer wearing rags doing an odd job dat I gather up to like 60k a month to putting on a suit to a work dat will pay me 25k monthly. With dat mentality, I placed my certificates and grammar one side, returned to d street with my bike; made few cash and joined biz. Who tie with peanut salary epp? I also did data analysis jobs on freelancing basis. Guy, there is cool money in it. I already knew how to handle few statistical packages like spss, excel,Eview,stata. So i trained my client offline and online (dis nairaland helped me too). Like i said i gathered d money i got from all my hustle and headed for biz and it paid off. D family responsibility lessened, and today am even training nephew and niece,was able to put up a structure and landed property.Things i never imagined in doz job hunting days. Now with my certificates, if i see good job, fine. If I no see, I will still be fine. I never put all my eggs in one basket.

So be strong,be courageous and always remember u are not d only one who has passed or passing thru dat rough road! It will surely get better!
