TravelRe: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Batba1: 2:42pm On Sep 18, 2020
newbie715:
Hallo, funny how time flies. It feels like yesterday that I was applying for my first spouse visa and I am now almost ready to apply for ILR. Is anyone else applying for ILR soon? I need to read up on it. I have just done the life in the UK test yesterday, I now need to start the actual process. If anyone else is at this stage, it will be good to share ideas, either way, I will be back to update this thread when I am done. Or maybe create an ILR thread cos I can't seem to find one, if there is one, could someone please share the link. Cheers.
ikr time flies lol...

ILR for me is due around next year June.

the application should be as same as the last one + the life in the uk test.

please keep us posted when you create one.

good luck!

ye its looks good. I would suggest you add more proof if you can... like register on the voters register.
letter from your employer stating your annual pay would also be an advantage...
Mine is due sometime in June so would be waiting for your testimony ....... Goodluck
Thank you very much for this. I go add those ones join.
TravelRe: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Batba1:
long time my people...how una dey?
so happy to read from this family and knowing everyone is doing great.

for the next stage (FLR) ive got 2 questions please:

1.
how much is health surcharge at the moment? i filled in the form and it came up with £1,000. i still dey laugh...

2.
i have all the documents ready. for Proof of Co-habitation, i have joint letters:

*i will add either phone, council tax or electric bill dated 2017
*Electric bill dated 2017
*Water bill dated 2017
*Council tax dated 2018
*Bank letter dated 2018
*Water bill dated 2018

in all, i plan to get three sources dated 2017 and three sources dated 2018 as advised earlier.

would these be sufficient?

i will throw in a couple random letters here and there in addition though.

Good morning people. Please can you advise on which centre is best to submit for a 63 year old woman in Lagos. Pros and cons please

Also can anyone confirm they don't take physical copies of passport photos anymore ?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Batba1: 3:34pm On Jun 08, 2017
ekpotek:
Yes. You can scan and send the documents by email and ensure that the applicant print it out using a color laser printer on A4 paper. Documents are no longer retained by Home office as the TLS application centers are equipped with high speed scanning machine to scan all submitted documents directly to Home office. Only the applicant current passport will be collected. All documents to be submitted must be sized to A4 including photos. You do not need to certified your British passport or any passport since it's a e-passport which can be verified from any immigration office anyway in the world.
Thank you soooo much Sir!

even the documents like payslips and bank statement printed from the bank are black and white. I also thought it shouldnt be an issue if the bio page of passport is scanned and printed coloured. i will make sure any coloured documents are printed coloured on A4 paper.

Mum is 63 years old retiree so i will get her to go print her statement from the bank showing pension from govt and monies from us. i will also get her to include as many docs on her name for properties and the rest.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME. IT MEANS ALOT TO ME!!!
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Batba1: 3:29pm On Jun 08, 2017
Brightingsus:
Huh...

You can't send any scanned anything, that's automatic refusal. You need to send physical hard copy documents like bank statements and letters, etc to the applicant to submit alongside other documents to the applicant's appointment. You can only send certified documents like the sponsor's passport. For the records, certified means making a copy of the original and getting a solicitor to sign on the copy saying the copy is genuine (or whatever wording they use)
Thank you for you time! noted!

As a matter of fact, those documents are in black and white like the payslips with stamp from HR, the bank statements printed from the bank, and the letters.

please if you have abit of time can you point me to what documents/cases where a scanned copy of bio page of passport has been an issue.

thank you sooo much for your time. i truly appreciate it!!!

You have not listed document from your mum side apart from her passport. She will need to provide documents such as bank statement, properties, etc to show that she will return back to Nigeria. Fortunately, since this is not her first application, you can provide document used in her last successful application with an update to reflect her presence circumstances.

I think you should be silenced on her accommodation staying with someone else. The ECO may view this a lack of sufficient finances on your part to put her in an hotel. Just filled that she will be staying with you. Period.
Thank you!

Can we scan and send the documents like bank statements and letters from our side to her rather than having to send physically?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Batba1: 2:16pm On Jun 07, 2017
Hello @justwise @ekpotek and other gurus on here. Please do we need any other documents apart from these for my mums application (53years old retiree)?:

-Her passport

-Our passports

-Joint Invitation letter

-Joint account statement showing the money we saved for her trip (1 month statement)

-My spouse's 6 months payslips

-My spouse's 6 months bank statement showing how money goes into our joint account (bulk of the money coming from my this account

-My 1 month bank statement showing my contribution to the joint account as I just registered and started trading as self employed (still expecting my unique tax code from HMRC).

-Letter from the occupant of the house shel be living in
(8 mins drive from our house) for the duration of her visit stating she can stay there for the duration (We have a one bedroom apartment now but currently looking for a two bedroom apartment as we are expecting and we think it might not be ideal for her application).

PLEASE NOTE:
We are planning on applying for two years visa for her so she can easily reuse later without making another application after this visit. She's been here to visit before in 2012 for one month.

justwise:
Ok i get that.
Yes @justwise thanks for your response. Like the previous commenter mentioned, there are different sections with list of supporting documents. Section 4 is still for visit visa. Plus I don't see a reason why transit visitors might want to add sponsor's utility bill to their application in the first place.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Batba1: 6:55pm On May 27, 2017
justwise:
You need to include 6months payslips to support the source of the money you are presenting.

Can you give me a link where it stated that one should not include pictures, council tax or utility bills of apartment? Never come across such before

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Batba1: 2:26pm On May 27, 2017
justwise:
Submitting the old account with history of transactions and source of that money would have been better.
please what other documents do I need to add to the application for her

justwise:
Your question is similar to Ezinkem.

Provide document to proof relationship, accommodation available for her, financial capability and explain what she will be doing.
@justwise and other gurus on here.

Same applies to me inviting my mum 63 years old retiree. Me and my partner just opened a new joint account few weeks ago. All the money we saved for her trip is in the new joint account. Partner (British) works full time and I am self employed (Just registered). We plan to write a joint invitation letter for her.

First question is would it be enough if we just print the statement (less than a month statement to show the money saved up for her trip) or we need a 6month bank statement (in which case we wont be able to use the joint account)?

Second question is do we need to include our employment details?

Third question is do we need any other documents apart from these:
-Her passport
-Our passports
-Joint Invitation letter
-Joint account statement showing the money saved for her trip (less than 1 month statement)

PLEASE NOTE:

-She has been here before in 2012 for 1 month holiday.
-It's stated on gov.uk not to include pictures, council tax or utility bills of apartment.

Thanks in advance!

Okay thank you! I will include the statements from the individual accounts as well. How many months statement will be enough?

justwise:
Were you people saving the money in an old account before transferring it to the new one?
Yes it's just basically transferring from personal old individual accounts into the new joint account.

I'm hoping to rent pre application. A one bed flat should be alright, isn't it? Does self document include the applicant's passport? Is there anything else that should be submitted as part of the self document?
Thanks
Yes. A one bed flat is fine. Even a room in a flat that is not crowded is okay for you two as long as u get a property inspection report to support it.

As per 'self documents', try and read through the whole thread. I know its very long but ul learn alot and gain confidence in the process. For example, quoting Portsmouth86's post:

Section 1: Application documents- (NOTE HUBBY IS SENDING HIS ORIGINALS FROM VI)
Table of contents
• Introduction letter combined both Hubby and I
• Copy of Husbands passport data page
• Copy of my Husband’s visa application printed from Visa4UK site.
• Copy of a Filled out form of Appendix 2 (VAF 4A)
• Copy of all emails sent to my husband’s email address 6 in total confirming application/payment/NHS HIS payments and all confirmations.
• Online transaction confirming both payments $1501 for the visa fee and $942 for IMM health Surcharge paid by my Very credit MasterCard.
• Copy of TB certificate
• Copy of IELTS

Hope this helps. Good luck + don't forget our nandos+palmie+ciroc after you take delivery of applicant.

MoAbs:
Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this forum... for the informations and everything....

So I applied for a spouse visa on the 23rd of August 2016.... I asked on this forum if it would be wise to still apply for PRIORITY VISA as I have been denied visas for UK and the US and I was advised not to apply for a PRIORITY VISA.... but I couldn't wait for the 12weeks so I risked it and went ahead to apply for a PRIORITY VISA...........

And I was granted the Spouse visa today.... smiley ...

So if you have £450 extra to risk for a PRIORITY VISA, it might be worth taking a shot.. who knows you might be lucky...

Please find my timeline below

18th August 2016 Application submitted online
22nd August 2016 Paid for Priority online
23rd August 2016 Biometrics done at VAC Ikeja
23rd August 2016 TLS updates to state application has been transferred to UKVI
24th August 2016 supporting docs were posted to Sheffield
24th August 2016 email from UKVI application has been received in Sheffield, UK
25th August 2016 TLS updated Your UK visa application has been received by UK Visas & Immigration
20th September 2016 Email from UKVI, A decision has been made on your UK Visa application
21st September 2016 TLS updated UK Visas & Immigration has now assessed your UK visa application and made a decision
22nd September 2016 Documents returned to sponsor in the UK
23rd September 2016 TLS updated application ready for collection Your passport and any returned supporting documentation have now arrived back at the TLScontact UK and I picked it up on same day... smiley

Thanks a lot
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hi everyone

So I have some news to share,

as I recently advised that my Son was due to be born on 23rd December, well he decided to come early, and was born on 1st September at 5.10am, weighing just 1lb 4oz, he is in NICU and in the best hospital in the UK, doing very well.

I am still in shock and was in hospital for 3 nights, I had a natural labor, with no pain relief, no complications and i have named our son Jamal Abolore, since my MIL traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia on the day I went into labor so the name is perfect for him smiley

May God bless us on this long and rocky road, until my son can come home Amen x
