Go for high mmf rate. Low rate doesn't automatically translate to better economy and low inflation in Nigeria. Now Stanbic and UCAP have been dishing out 15% cos Cardi B...sorry, Cardoso, said inflation is low so he cut down MPR. Dangote just increased fuel price. Barrel of crude just increased cos of the US-Isreali airstrike on Iran. This translates to higher inflation. So why choose low mmf rate? |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Batman2412(m): 6:35pm On Mar 02 |
Why we want high rate is because the 9ja system cannot be trusted. Rate could fall to 5% and 9ja economy will still be worse. Preator: Not permanent ooooo. Those rates are a reminder that our economy is doing badly. We need it to come down ultimately so quality of life can improve. In the interim sha, make we enjoy am. |

Yes of course. You can charge it with nepa. If you use prepaid meter, your units will not run down fast unlike ceiling and standing fan. Love800: I appreciate.
But am not talking about solar. Can't i use nepa to charge it? |

12" lontor table fan is about 40k now. I got them for 20k about 3 years ago when i installed my small solar set-up. The small ones women hold is 2" and cost about 4k. 12" rechargeable table fan is best for small solar set-up Love800: How much for those rechargeable fans? Sabi its the big types, not those tiny types that women usually hold in their hands. |
Nairaland General › Re: Standing Fan Or Ceiling Fan. Which One Do You Prefer? (Photo) by Batman2412(m): 5:16pm On Feb 21 |
Rechargeable table fan cos of solar gel battery. Much less energy consumption and direct blowing. Ceiling and standing fan can run down solar battery if the solar set-up is small |

Very clear explanation. Are these charges deducted everytime I top up my equity fund or is it a one time thing? Preator: By the way, always expect a dip when you fund an equity fund.
1. There are charges such as brokerage fees, SEC fees, stamp duty etc that has to be paid from your deposit so it will reduce what you see.
2. Funds have two prices. A buy and sell price. Imagine you enter GTbank to deposit buy USD but to be credited to your account. You will see a sell price (lets say 1450) and a buy price of 1430. The sell price is how much they will sell 1 unit to you. So you pay them 1 unit. But when they credit the 1 unit to gour account, they will show the naira equivalent at the price they will buy from you which is 1430. You still have 1usd in your account, just that the bank will only buy at 1430.
Same thing happens with fund. They sell to you higher but display your asset value at the lower buy price. Quantity remains same. It's a paper loss until u sell. |

Make una try dey stay one place. Ucap has bad rate (15+%) but N2m redemption takes 2 minutes. I put some money in trustbanc via cowrywise(19+%). I tried 1k5 withdrawal and it took 24+ hours. They even took my N25 bucks to process the N1k5 withdrawal. They are all the same: either they show you shege on withdrawal or customer service or rate or all FRANKLYex: I initiated a withdrawal from my STL wallet since yesterday and it has not dropped till now. Any ideal of what I can do? |

Stocks and equity are sporty wearing 3 piece suit. I've seen premium shege pro max in the past with ucap equity. I've decided to try again this year with peanuts(100k). Now the game is not about profit but to see how long it will take 100k to finish in cowrywise equity suckprick: Honestly all these people doing equity and stocks dey try. To me there's no difference between those things and sportybet. The both have same thing in common which is tendency to loose your money. Stories I have heard about stocks no nice at all. More grease to una elbow. I no dey do pass myself that's why I stick to MMF.😊 |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Batman2412(m): 2:23pm On Feb 20 |
Makes a whole lot of sense Preator: Frankly, if anyone has funds they dont need till December in MMF, move 90% to an equity fund. You will be better off for it.
The ASI is now over 194.6k today(will likely hit 195k) and is on course to break the 200k barrier. Tap into those gains.
Secondly, there will likely be a rate cut on tuesday by the MPC. This means MMF yields will drop further with investors moving funds to equity further driving equity yields up.
Lastly, gou can catch the dividends bubble between Apr and July when most company's start paying their div. Thats an extra 6-8% yield with a timed entry.
If Trumps attack Iran, priice of nigerian oil giants will go up also pulling the ASI further up. There will be other impact of course including negative ones.
Of course there will be red days, but ultimately by year end, your equity will likely be more than 15% better than MMF. |
