guiddoti:did you read that Isaiah 56 I mentioned earlier? if you did, you will realise that the key to changing your life style isn't fasting.. read 1 John 5:3.. after that, read verse 14 to see the criteria for which your prayers will be answered. |

kilojoDesigns:right.. faith.. what's the definition again.. is it blindly believing without some sought of evidence? nah.. Hebrews 11:1 defines it as "the "assured" expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld".. the assurance we have is based on what is around us and not just on the Bible.. the complex designs of everything around us testifies to the existence of a creator.. |

And you think fasting guarantees salvation, success and all the good things of life.. try reading Isaiah 56

You might say some people blindly believe in the existence of a supreme being.. but that's really not the case.. the evidence around us of his existence are overwhelming.. maybe you should try asking some people why they believe in his existence .. and compare it to why some others don't believe in him.. come back to me with the results.. and I'll prove to you that number 1 shouldn't be on this your list. 2 Likes |

Twas in 2015, at the beach.. I just told her we have to breakup that i was scared of relationships.. she was crying.. i just couldn't stand seeing her cry, so i held her and begged her to stop crying.. somehow, i looked into her eyes and kissed her.. Didn't feel anything (perhaps i was too naive to feel anything).. after sometime, she asked me why i had kissed her.. i told i don't know, which was the truth. And then we kissed some more (my lips pepper me that day. P.S. the relationship went on to last another 1yr plus.. broke up with her anyway, won't be getting married anytime soon, there is no point in keeping her for too long without any real hope in the near future.. it's a year now, and everyday my heart breaks to have let her go.. my consolation is simply that, it was in her best interest as well as mine. |

Health / Six Ways To Make Your Toilet A Safe Haven by Bauer1: 11:50am On Aug 01, 2017 |
According to Wikipedia, A toilet is a sanitation fixture used for the storing or disposal of human urine and feces. Whereas some countries use “squat” toilets, here in Nigeria, we make use of “seat” toilets mostly. For some, the toilet is a place, not just for releasing human wastes, but for relaxation. Yes, I said that. Some of us take our phones inside and chat away, watch movies, read books etc., and end up staying in there for far longer than necessary. You can make your toilet a disease free area by simply following these six simple toilet safety tips. SIT ON THE SEAT Some people, for fear of contracting diseases, would rather squat on the toilet seat than sit on it. I am categorically telling you that it is unsafe to do that. You could fall, break a limb and probably get yourself all mixed up with the slimy filths you were trying to avoid in the first place. Squatting on the toilet seat does not necessarily protect you from toilet diseases, so if you feel that the toilet seat is too dirty, clean it up and use it the RIGHT WAY. DO NOT DEPOSIT FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS IN THE TOILET Sanitary pads are quite thick and will definitely block the toilet outlet. You could use the waste bin in the toilet, if it is available, or you could look for other ways to dispose of it. Just DON’T THROW IT IN THE TOILET. DON’T FLUSH A WIPE A piece of cloth, a towel, or even paper, these are wipes and can have the same effect as throwing feminine hygiene products in the toilet. Little pieces of cloth or towel will definitely block the toilet outlet. Whereas it might take a while for paper to clog up the system, it’s just a matter of time. Make use of tissue papers or if they are unavailable, use water. IGNORE THE HYPE, DON’T FLUSH A WIPE! FLUSH THE TOILET AFTER USE In this ever busy world of ours, it is normal to sometimes forget to flush the toilet after using it. However, it is very irritating to see someone else’s faeces, personally, it disgusts me. So, if you can’t stand the sight of someone else’s poo, don’t put others through the trauma of seeing yours. Endeavor to leave the toilet clean. If you don’t succeed the first time, FLUSH, FLUSH, FLUSH AGAIN… WIPE THE SEAT This is especially for the guys. We sometimes urinate on the seat, albeit inadvertently. Considering others, it would be better and hygienic to clean the seat afterwards, using a tissue paper or if that is unavailable, use water. Regardless of your gender, IF YOU SPRINKLE WHERE YOU TINKLE, PLEASE BE NEAT AND WIPE THE SEAT. ADD YOURS…. 5 Likes

Apprenticeship is very good, especially for those who don't have plans to further their education anytime soon. However, if you are a National Diploma student and you are above 23, with active plans of going back to school prestissimo, then it is best you opt for internship.. |
Education / Why Are We So Blessed? - A Poem by Bauer1: 3:46pm On Jul 24, 2017 |
WHY ARE WE SO BLESSED? why are we so blessed With roads as smooth as contour islands Electricity as stable as with AC signals Job opportunities as abundant as with water in the Sahara And cities sparsely populated as in Shanghai? Why are we so blessed With known thieves heralded as Messiahs Leaders as truthful as with the Devil A dollar to a naira Or is it one to four hundred? Why are we so blessed A marriage of strange bed fellows Wedded by force at the area of the Niger And now with offspring dividedly united Or should I say unitedly divided? Where shall we go for peace is it to Iraq or Iran To faraway Syria or Gaza To the area of the Niger or Shall we travel halfway around a yellow sun Really, How are we so blessed? Lasticlala, Mynd44, I understand that poems don't make first page on Nairaland. But could you let Nigerians explain how blessed we are? |

Romance / Why The Good Guys Get The Bad Girls And Vice Versa - An Open Secret by Bauer1: 5:46pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
I have seen so many questions on this subject here on Nairaland but it hasn't bothered me until now. As a good guy (which I like to believe I am) and a single one at that, I recently began to ponder what kind of girl I'll end up with. That is why I decided to take this question seriously as "the good finding the bad" is becoming a norm. After careful thinking I had an epiphany and the answer became crystal clear, it's even more interesting because it's something we all know and I'll tell you in a moment. When I was a toddler I tend to move towards the kerosene lamp whenever I see one and it was normal for my Mom to pull me away from it. She tries to make it harder to get to but it seems the harder she tries to keep me from it, the more determined I became. This went on until she finally used my hands to touch the hot part of the lamp. I never went back after that. Why Was I so interested in the lamp. it is simply because it mystified me, hence I was curious. I wanted to unravel the mystery. the toys I had, they were no longer a mystery , they became nothing compared to the lamp . To the good guy/girl, the bad guy/girl is a mystery. Curiosity takes over and then we want to see what makes them tick and sometimes with the wrong thought that we can change them if we don't like what we find. When we get them, only then do we realize the terrible mistake we've made, only then do we clearly see that in pursuing mystery we have sold out our happiness. So, Good guys/girls in the house don't discard that good guy/girl you have in search for mystery, for then you will discover that you threw away gold in your search for brass. 4 Likes |
