Iran, Syaria and the likes definately know the whereabouts of the top echoleon of Al-queda and can give then up with the right incentives, war solves nothing today what do we have Saddam is out but iraq is unstable what a success story.

iranian and syrians are shia while al qaeda is a sunni organization. both sides don't operate together. iran and syria control hezbollah not al qaeda

Most of the money derived from oil is concentrated at the federal level, and the federal level is controlled by a clique from the north. The winner of naija elections takes direct charge of virtually all of the nations revenues, withe exclusion of the loosers. Winner-takes-all.

so what do u want, do u want a decentralized government with provinces such as say a canada?? the federal government system is fine with me until all states can create considerable revenue on their own.

A balanced and fair political equation would begin with restructuring many of this country's unfair and unbalanced common sense laws.

and how are u going to do that? by electing people with "common sense" in. u are in real trouble if u can't SECURE ur citizens while they are voting or after an election.
PoliticsRe: American's Dilemna, Obama Or Another Republican? by bawomol(m): 9:52pm On Jan 09, 2008
only an idiot would think the US plunded afghanistan(what's there to plunder) or korea. south koreans better be thanking someone that the american army saved their asses. there's no evidence that a biracial person would help america's foreign policy.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 7:36am On Jan 09, 2008
The short and long term solution is restructuring the political equation of Africa.

that involves security. u think people are thinking about a fucking election if someone is chasing them with an AK-47.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 5:52am On Jan 09, 2008
they are afraid of getting china upset because of something called diplomacy. it is stupid just to put a ban on toy imports from china. who is going to cover for the increase in production costs. trade organizations like the WTO were created to cover issues such as this. more pressure should be placed on china to fight piracy etc. what makes u think those toys won't be smuggled into the country after they are banned undecided
Christianity EtcRe: Creation Is True: Bible Is True: Evolution Is False: Islam Is False. by bawomol(m): 5:47am On Jan 09, 2008
what's ur proof that evolution is false grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 5:36am On Jan 09, 2008
Did you know that millions of imported toys from China have had to be recalled from the US market in 2007 alone?
For a nation that cries so much about outsourcing of jobs to countries like China i am surprised that Obama's policy to ban importation of toys from China generates a negative response from you.

What is the difference in Clinton's plans for the healthcare system? The same plans she could not push through in her years as a senator?

it generates a negative response from me because u guys are the same ones that would be bitching about inflation when u have to pay for ur goods at walmarts. a better alternative would be to pressure china to increase the safety of goods while creating more funding for inspection at the border. u don't want to piss china off by altering the trade balance(foreign policy experience right??)

what makes u think obama's plan would pass in a split congress. or are we going to be blind on obama's shortcoming while going fullthrottle at hillary.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 5:17am On Jan 09, 2008
What "policies" of Hillary? She can't even deliver a victory speech here in NH without reading a prepared script?

Please change is over-rated? Even Hillary has jumped on the change bandwagon.

i disagre with policies such as obama's plan to ban the importation of toys from china. i just prefer clintons plan for the healthcare system etc. if americans really wanted change, then they would going 4 a radical like ron paul or ralph nader. don't expect to see a drastic shift in policies. what makes u think victory speeches aren't scripted for most candidates. what next, clinton used the bradley effect to her advantage??
PoliticsRe: EFCC Declares Igbinedion Wanted! by bawomol(m): 5:14am On Jan 09, 2008
i have to agree with DisGuy, some of u guys won't be satisfied until all politicans are lined in front of firing squads while ur driveways are littered with gold.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 5:07am On Jan 09, 2008
i personally agree with hillary's policies more than that of obama. what's bad with bill clinton campaigning for his wife. jeb bush did it for his brother. what's the big deal. obama isn't a bad guy but this so-called "change" is overrated and isn't any different from what we have seen before.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 4:59am On Jan 09, 2008
short term solution-enhancing security
long term solution- creating stable governments.

u can't reach a political solution while under ruins. national unity governments don't get created withing a day.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:57am On Jan 09, 2008
that is hardly an argument. Voting for war in Iraq is different from supporting funding the troops ALREADY in Iraq. You don't oppose Bush's tactics of using force by starving the men and women in uniform of the needed funds to do their job.

i'm sorry, but there's a big difference between support the current troop levels while doing little to criticize a troop surge(i'm 4 the surge by the way).  the truth is obama is a politician that plays it safe and hardly goes against the tide. there was hardly any resistance to the war about 4 years ago.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:53am On Jan 09, 2008
thats a shame. . .the only libertarian whose politics follows his convictions

so u won't mind the gold standard to eliminating the whole welfare system??
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:51am On Jan 09, 2008
Salient point but . . . Clinton won in 1992 based on which foreign policy experience? What foreign policy experience does Hillary have? Voting for war against Iraq?

she has years of voting in the senate compared to a rookie like obama who is just fresh in the political scene. obama was hardly vocal while he was a state senator in illinois.  there's little that says obama wouldn't have supported a war in iraq, doesn't he support funding 4 the iraq war??
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:21am On Jan 09, 2008
the good news is that ron paul is done. that libertarian couldn't even work his magic in new hampshire
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:17am On Jan 09, 2008
So this is now down to shedding tears abi?

in the words of herm edwards "u play the to win the game". don't hate the player, hate the game

obama better run to s carolina before he runs out momentum.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 4:11am On Jan 09, 2008
you guys don't get the underlying point. humans are naturally competitive. things like ethnic cleaning would always pop up from the time to time. the question should be how to improve the security situation of african countries. and stop waiting on the UN to save ur asses. why can't the AU or groups like ECOMOG be more useful.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 4:08am On Jan 09, 2008
i'm impressed by the results. hillary finally showed some emotion and that she isn't a robot. her husband did a good job campaigning 4 her. the obama machine is about to exposed to be nothing but rhetoric compard to hillary's proven record in the senate.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 11:53pm On Jan 08, 2008
Serbs and Croats are probably not as developed as many African societies, don't be fooled simply because they are white.

i think it would be an insult to claim the slavs weren't developed. ethnic albanians were influences by advances during the muslim renanissance. development isn't a criteria for ethnic cleansing. ethnic cleansing is bad but it isn't an african problem alone. we have to stop it on the continent but let's stop making it likes blacks are violent folks
PoliticsRe: I Am Tired Of NEPA by bawomol(m): 10:35pm On Jan 08, 2008
why not make use of coal energy, when u have a minefield in Enugu. most of the energy in the US is made by coal. there are safe ways to refine Coal.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 10:30pm On Jan 08, 2008
what makes u guys think he is going to win in the southern states. big tuesday is still coming up. there's a slim hope for hillary clinton
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 10:26pm On Jan 08, 2008
The magnitude of tribal violence in Africa dwarfs whatever you have in Belgium and Quebec, however, I agree that there used to be tribal violence in Europe, but that was such a long time ago.

it wasn't a long time ago that serbs and croats were killing each other in yugoslavia. there's still the persecution of chechenyan's in Russia. change is on the horizon.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 9:53am On Jan 08, 2008
hi there
struggling to find their identity you say, but is there really a point anymore? who is the enemy now? the white man left ages ago , why can we live and let live and just move on. All that separates is languages, now that is nothing, why can't people just let things be. this struggle as you put it is proving to be a costly one and a huge embarrassment on us all as Africans. You think the past colonial muppets give two hoots if we are tutsis, hutus, Kikuyus, Ibos or Hausa? Like i said the struggle should have gone when the mupetts left Africa not . nation building should forge ahead. i dream to see a united state of Africa, now that will give the world something to be scared of, forget osama. Lets face one truth here if there is nothing to be gained the internation community will not intervene, go ask Rowandans

great points, but 40yrs is not ages ago. it takes time. do u think european countries didnt' go through civil wars 2. a few belgium and some folks from quebec still want to split till these days. 40yrs is tiny in terms of history. we'll see if african countries are failed states 100yr's from now.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 10:38pm On Jan 07, 2008
the ethnic groups always interacted by warfare or trade. countries such as Greece and italy were formed through warfare/diplomacy. deal with it. african countries are just struggling to find an identity after colonial rule.
PoliticsRe: There is No Science Forum. by bawomol(m): 10:02pm On Jan 07, 2008

we need a science subforum
PoliticsRe: Would MKO Abiola Have Made A Good President? by bawomol(m): 9:55pm On Jan 07, 2008
you have to correct mistakes made in ur history to move forward. it makes no sense to forget about the actions of abiola just because he is dead.
PoliticsRe: Would MKO Abiola Have Made A Good President? by bawomol(m): 5:55pm On Jan 07, 2008
some nigerians are very bad and have totally lost hope in their nation building. you are part of the society, contribute your own quoata and don't curse someone who has died.Abiola was on the verge to declare that africa was cheated by the europeans. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE.AMEEEN

lol@on the verge,i guess abiola is a philospher now. maybe we sould place him alone socrates.
PoliticsRe: Would MKO Abiola Have Made A Good President? by bawomol(m): 5:54pm On Jan 07, 2008
hardly can you find any nigerian business that has had very smooth succession from one generation to the other

the transition doesn't help when u don't choose a heir, update ur will and have a billion real and imaginary children competiting for ur wealth. if abiola was so disorganized raising his family, how are we sure he would done a good being the head of the nigerian government.

he was all talk and little action.
PoliticsRe: Would MKO Abiola Have Made A Good President? by bawomol(m): 12:39am On Jan 06, 2008
populists hardly make good presidents. he was 2 cozy with the army for his own good.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria Will Never Progress by bawomol(m): 12:37am On Jan 06, 2008
too much of this comparison to america does not seem to be effective, please show the comparison to other african countries that are picking up. . . like angola, botswana, tansania, ghana and even togo and benin republic. . . them those folks at home will appreciate the full damage hen they see these countries moving ahead of us seriously.

i agree, nigeria shouldn't be the USA. that's just an unfair comparison. it would make more sense to compare nigeria to republics that got their independence at a similar time like Ghana etc. a tiny country like togo could be an unfair comparison 2 though.
PoliticsRe: Cameroun: The Gathering Storm by bawomol(m): 12:35am On Jan 06, 2008
destabilization of cameroun would actually just lead to an independent southern cameroun, a territory that would most likely lay claim to the bakassi pennisula.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Crushes Clinton and Edwards in Iowa by bawomol(m): 12:32am On Jan 06, 2008
You are missing the fundamental point. In the past, when top rates of tax were high, such as 77%,the rich bore a smaller proportion of the tax burden, with recent tax cuts their proportion has been going higher.Do you want to go back to the era when the poor bore a higher proportion of the tax burden?

no i won't want poor people to bear the tax burden. but what benefits do tax cuts have other than shifting the tax burdenhuh?
