PoliticsRe: A Last! Ojukwu, Ex-biafran Soldiers Get Pension 41 Years After by bawomol(m): 5:12pm On Jan 18, 2008
he appointed himself a general as a member of the DEFUNCT biafran army. he is a rtd Lt.Col and nothing else.

who cares if a general has actual led a battalion in warfare? what matter is that he has the knowledge and trust of his officers to do when needed. Ojukwu's record as a general wasn't so great either.
PoliticsRe: Gbenga Obasanjo's Wife Spills The Beans! by bawomol(m): 5:07pm On Jan 18, 2008
i agree with texaspette(sp), it's a bit ironic for the president of a country to have grandkids schooling abroad. we aren't talking about graduate school here but freaking secondary school education that should be available in every country. only an excessive person would spend 100,000 dollars or more just for secondary school.

silence is the best answer for a fool when faced with a minor accusation. incense shouldn't be met with silence.
PoliticsRe: A Last! Ojukwu, Ex-biafran Soldiers Get Pension 41 Years After by bawomol(m): 5:03pm On Jan 18, 2008
I can pass you his phone number so you ask that of him.

why would i need his phone number. he would always leave with the guilt of extending a war to the point of humanitarian disaster.
PoliticsRe: Gbenga Obasanjo's Wife Spills The Beans! by bawomol(m): 4:53pm On Jan 18, 2008
Mojisola is seeking a monthly payment of N300,000 for the period of 15 years or till the children attain adulthood.
She is also seeking that the Petitioner pay a lump sum of £360,000 or its Naira equivalent and $400,000 or its Naira equivalent for the education of their two children of the marriage. The sum of £360,000, she claimed, would cover cost of school fees for a period of six years each for the two children at a secondary school in Switzerland already picked by their father, while $400,000 would be the cost of a four-year degree programme for both of the children in an American University.

bitch please. since when was education in an American university(private for that matter) mandatory for any nigerian?? the lump sum would be plywood on her forehead. this is why am scared to get married. golddiggers. secondary school in europe, they sure are balling.
PoliticsRe: A Last! Ojukwu, Ex-biafran Soldiers Get Pension 41 Years After by bawomol(m): 4:49pm On Jan 18, 2008
he should donate some of his pension to the lives of non-igbo Midwesterners he ruined.
PoliticsRe: Woe! To Nigerian Government. Ghana Is Now The Giant Of Africa! by bawomol(m): 4:45pm On Jan 18, 2008
ghana doesn't have a near perfect power supply. i believe they still have issues with power shedding.

http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/features/artikel.php?ID=122985

u guys 4 some reason just love to bash ur native country. the ghanian is good but not the giant of africa. countries like egypt and s.africa are in better shape.
PoliticsRe: No Nuclear Station In Igboland as Yoruba Rejects Four Proposed Nuclear Stations by bawomol(m): 7:11pm On Jan 17, 2008
You are talking like as if its an all or nothing situation. . . . .we either build nuclear power plants or we will run out of gas and coal and thus, out of any energy source. This is far from the case.

it is not an all or nothing situation but diversification is the key. we can't be hypocritical complaining about our economy's dependence on oil but refuse to pursue other energy sources. diversifying ur energy sources would meet the energy demands of the country. am sorry but geo thermal and fuel cells are still years down the road. wind, nuclear energy etc are already practical. nuclear energy supply's 20% of the US energy production.
PoliticsRe: No Nuclear Station In Igboland as Yoruba Rejects Four Proposed Nuclear Stations by bawomol(m): 7:01pm On Jan 17, 2008
Gas,coal and hydro-electricity are better and safer alternatives.Where do we dispose of the waste? You know the waste lasts for thousands of years.

hydro is unpredictable and depends on water levels. gas depletes fast and isn't a renewable resource. u can't live on coal alone. u have to diversify ur energy production or else u would end like up like nigeria which depended on dams.
PoliticsRe: No Nuclear Station In Igboland as Yoruba Rejects Four Proposed Nuclear Stations by bawomol(m): 6:55pm On Jan 17, 2008

someone says they are against nuclear energy . . . what then is the alternative? I'm so glad not to live in the same nation as unimaginative and complacent Nigerians.

ororo and epo powered engines.
PoliticsRe: No Nuclear Station In Igboland as Yoruba Rejects Four Proposed Nuclear Stations by bawomol(m): 6:54pm On Jan 17, 2008
what an idiot, a nuclear power plan would actually post job opportunities for people in the region. as long as u build far from a concentrated civillian population(and pls have some real security), u are in good shape. i doubt the cost of nuclear energy is that expensive

Nuclear energy is expensive. It is in fact one of the least expensive energy sources. In 2004, the average cost of producing nuclear energy in the United States was less than two cents per kilowatt-hour, comparable with coal and hydroelectric. Advances in technology will bring the cost down further in the future.

PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Accuses Obasanjo Of Wasting N1.2trn On Energy by bawomol(m): 5:13pm On Jan 15, 2008
why blame obasanjo soley. isn't it the job of the ministry of power/energy to make sure the money was used effectively. it's stupid to expect the president of a country to be directly involved in such cases.
PoliticsRe: Is Mr.speaker, Hon.dimeji Bankole Handsome by bawomol(m): 4:30am On Jan 14, 2008

PoliticsRe: Who Is Responsible For Nigeria`s Woes, Our Leaders Or The System? by bawomol(m): 2:12am On Jan 13, 2008
When Hausa/Yoruba/Fulani corrupt politicians and their Corrupt Military Generals were institutionalizing corruption from 1969 they excluded the Ibos, it's unjust for me to include them on what they were not part of. or have you forgotten the first privatization by Chief Otumba back-Stabber Awolowo.

are u trying to say their were no igbo generals or corruption in the eastern region. the last time i checked the first coup was started by mostly igbo officers embarassed. corruption isn't an ethnic issue. don't make it one.
PoliticsRe: African-american's Travail In Nigeria: Solicitors Petition Inspector-general by bawomol(m): 8:43am On Jan 12, 2008

Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 8:40am On Jan 12, 2008
lol, the good thing about being an independent is I pledge allegiance to no party. So no I don't hate democrats at all.

but u magically belief democrats are more fiscally responsible. i think u should be an analyst for fox news right beside bill o reilly.

Hillary wants to provide "universal healthcare" to all which will be at the expense of hardworking taxpayers

what's the problem if the healthcare is paid for YOU to serve YOU. if universal healthcare is 2 expensive then privatize the whole system.

, provide a "path to citizenship" for illegals already here, which will be rewarding criminal behavior and a slap in the face of those who waited years, paid fees and did it legally.etc,

harsh news buddy, the current illegals aren't going anywhere. the problem isn't illegals but US employers who continually hire them for cheap. companies like walmart should be scrutinized the current illegals would be given a path to citizenship(that involves paying back taxes and filing papers). trust me, the path to citizenship isn't cost or hassle free.

Frankly I don't think it matters if she wins or obama wins the nomination. America will not select a "half-frican" american (like one radio talkshow host put it) or a woman, not just yet. When it comes down to it, america will show her true color, you'll see.

the same thing was said about america not electing a catholic. oh yeah of little faith.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 8:33am On Jan 12, 2008
Do you mind give some of these religious beliefs that you claim he is trying to enforce??

abortion and gay rights. he said some weird stuff about the church of latter day saints too.

Should the economy, immigration and homeland security be the only issues for candidates to concern themselves with then?? Last we checked, americans have been voting on morals from the very beginning. Is it suddenly not of relevance even if the people still want that to be consideredhuh

priorities, what's more important. what another man does in his bedroom or privacy or ur health insurance. americans have to make that decision.

cosign naijaking.

it's not genetic. seems s.africans are serious about combating crime and corruptions. in illinois, it's common place for politicians(even former governors) and police officers to face corruption charges
PoliticsRe: Female Presidents In Africa by bawomol(m): 11:15pm On Jan 11, 2008
women are just as brute as men. i don't see any change if african women have political power. they do have a right to equal representation though
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 11:14pm On Jan 11, 2008
think moral and ethical issues are jus what the US needs at the moment. he looks strong to the task.

yes moral issues would help the economy, deal with the immigrant problem and increasing homeland security.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 11:07pm On Jan 11, 2008
Do you mind explain what you mean by that statement there in BOld??

1. he once made statements referencing to romney's mormon beliefs(not sure what they were)

2. his stance on moral issues seems he is enforcing his religious beliefs on the general population.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 10:51pm On Jan 11, 2008
abeg Hillary's proposed policies are horrible, settle for another Republican president.

what hillary policies are horrible or is the hate for democrats just boiling. FYI-romney is indeed a flip-flopping republican and once met log-cabin republicans before. you would be an idiot to vote a flip-flopper like romney who uses illegal immigrants to mow his lawn but wants to throw them out. i guess huckabee the religious nut is fiscally sound to u. the welfare system has been trimmed down drastically since the days of the New Deal.

i'm waiting to hear about the horrible hillary policies. she would win the nomination. deal with it.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 10:30pm On Jan 10, 2008
US states get less than 10% of their revenues from the federal government, the states instead pay a lot more to the federal government in form of taxes, levies, etc.

i'm confused, in what ways do the state pay a lot back to the federal government in forms of taxes. i thought most of the US revenues comes from the estate tax, taxing hedge funds and corporations etc. states still get funding from the federal government to build roads, aid their transportation system and combat crime. there's a reason pork-barrel politics is common in congress. 10% is pretty significant.

In naija, that traffic is crookedly reversed with the federal government paying the states, the local government, and individuals.

it's not fault of the federal government that state and local government are ineffective. the centralize system should remain until regions/states can operate on their own.

Do you understand the concept of federal cake in naija?

i understand, it's bad. the problem isn't the system of government, but people that implement it.
PoliticsRe: Least Police Man Take Home Pay Is Now 26k? by bawomol(m): 10:17pm On Jan 10, 2008
26 K a Month ? Or a Yearhuh I mean I do not know of any other country where the Police force take home 26K /$210 bucks a year and survive!!!!

although 26K/month is still small, the relative cost of living between nigeria and a country such as the US or UK is different. u have to consider the differences in taxes and utilities. keep in mind, this is just rookie pay. maybe they get a bonus at checkpoints grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by bawomol(m): 10:11pm On Jan 10, 2008
some of u guys are idiots. mitt romney is a notorious flip flopper. he was a liberal, gay-right sympathizer while governor of massachusett(sp). now he is a religion loving conservative while running 4 president. if u wanted a tough maverick, go for mccain. rudy guiliani is pro-gay rights and abortion rights so i doubt you social conservatives want him as president. i don't see how the republics are supposedly more fiscally responsible.
PoliticsRe: Ibori Falls Very Ill In Jail. by bawomol(m): 5:02am On Jan 10, 2008
why do they all fall sick when they go to jail.
PoliticsRe: African History Repeats Itself by bawomol(m): 12:59am On Jan 10, 2008
See, this is your main problem, you don't see what's wrong with the naija federal government, because you identify with the people runinning for a very long time now.

correction, i am fine with a federalized form of government. there's obviously problems with the naija system but it can be fixed.

You want to continue to support 'weak and poor' state governments until they can 'generate revenues for themselves. I hope you see the basic injustice in your premise.

US states till these day get aid from the federal government. it takes money to make money wink

The states should not have been created in the first place if they can't support themselves, but the criminal political minds created these states as a way of getting and keeping advantages over the south.

that's the past and doesn't matter, the main emphasis should be made on making the state functioning and less dependent on the federal government or else they should be dissolved.
