Any positive reply from stanbic ibtc bank yet? I have not received any positive reply or refund. Sunday makes it two weeks I reported, then it's off to CBN
None, but some are achieving partial results by going to their banks and seriously causing a scene...but it's usually just partial results cos then they refund some and hold on to some. For me, I don't need positive result from them. Na court go settle am, in sha Allah

[color=#000033]You captured my thoughts in two paragraphs. I remember a time when you make transactions and they always come back at lower rates if - and when - refunded. I thought they had the backing of the CBN and it was the right thing to do.

Transferred the crap model into my business because I do make payments and get lower rates when refunded until an incident played out and I realized, "Shi*t, these guys were profiting abnormally," and I'm about to take a fall for them whilst defending 'em. So if someone says "it's just 28k," how convenient - for that person; someone who really does the financial sheet/profit and loss statement will hardly say that. Even if it's N1,000, I'll take it back and rather dash it out to someone else. It's not exactly about the money in most cases but the means via which it was taken.

If na calabash you keep your money, calabash no fit deduct your money one day come dey tell you sour gist upandan.

That's what I always tell peeps: its not about the money but the principle behind it...me even if na 1naira, dey gats2refund...maybe that's a spill over of growing up in a home where both parents were bankers...

[color=#000033]Yes, it flies so high when - and because - people resign themselves to taking the wrong deduction as being right/legal.

You don't buy biscuit for N10 today, eat it and then, the owner of the kiosk/supermarket comes tomorrow to ask for N10 balance because she bought a new carton/pack of biscuits at N16.50/biscuit some days later.

3 gbosa for you! 9jas ar used to complaining without taking action...when it comes to taking action, you'll start hearing: this is naija jare, I don't have time, blah blah blah...

tumababa:
It flies so high in naija
....simply because we allow it.

GTBANK did it and got away with it in some instances...most instances, so stanbic is now following suit and apparently would be getting away with it in some instances, because I already hear some people saying: its just 28k that is affected...at least I made some good money whilst the run lasted, so it's just a part of my profit.

Soon another bank would take the same script, dust it up and play it again.

Please house, if i have dollars in my domiciliary Account with GTBank, and i want to withdraw it, will they pay me in dollars? If no, what rate will they do the conversion for me in naira equivalence?

Thanks
It's actually supposed to be given to you in dollars, not converted and definitely not at the official rate if conversion would occur, it should be at black market rate, unless you decide to sell it to the bank, in which case it would be given to you in naira, and at the bank's rate. But if you decide to withdraw it, you are to be paid in dollars...any other thing apart from that is a criminal act. grin

How will Date of Issue of my dollar bill affect the exchange rate?
Well I really don't know why, but that is how they do it...I don't have an explanation for it.

You are right. They are trying it out to see who it will stick with. They debited or froze my small 24,610.30 naira and I have been contacting them. They told me all the stories and sent that document of expected amount that should have been debited. I explained to them that I transacted using DCC and since they could not do what other banks did by restricting DCC, they should bear the brunt of their error. As long as some customers have been earlier refunded, I must be refunded. Waiting for Monday as they said they will look into it again and get back to me.
I will go all the normal route of making complaints, but in all honesty, I'll be doing it half-heartedly, because I'm actually hoping and earnestly praying they don't refund...I have to use a bank as scapegoat and hammer via one na grin cheesy

Well according to CBN rules, we need to wait 2weeks before contacting CBN and give CBN say another 2weeks to mediate in the matter...na the stumbling block me dat.
BusinessRe: Was anyone illegally debited by Stanbic ibtc end of June? please get in here by bdavis: 6:26pm On Jul 22, 2016
I think we should all form a concerted effort to fight this. We should all keep the record of our communication with stanbic, and make sure that all communications are by mail so that there can be proper records, if you do communicate via phone calls, make sure the call is recorded in such a way that conversations from both ends can clearly be heard.

If after mailing CBN, stanbic still won't budge, which I am seriously hoping and praying that they wouldn't, then we can take it a step further by coming together and filling a class action suit against stanbic.

It's very obvious that if they do reverse the charges, they are hell bent on looking for other account holders who would not put up a fight to steal money from, since they seem to be debitting accounts that were previously not affected almost immediately after regularising accounts of people that had lodged complaints. So it's very apparent they hope to get away with this

I have mailed them and they have been talking trash. Did you notice from their attachment that what they claimed was spent on each transaction were formulated by stanbic? Where I spent $300, they calculated it as $300 plus. My next plan is sending mail and copying CBN. Please how did you resolve gtbank issue
Well for my own, the amount they claimed I spent was actually what I spent. The only discrepancy I think is that when I did the spending, their dollar rate was actually 295 or thereabout, mayb 300 max as opposed to the 335 they are now using as basis for their calculation, which is even higher than their present rate undecided

As per the GTBANK issue, I copied CBN, but before CBN could respond, the item I bought wasn't delivered, so paypal canceled the transaction and GTB refunded what they charged+the 2nd double charged that was done on my account, thereby narrowly escaping my wrath. cheesy

I have not been debited, but in a way, I am somehow hoping and praying that they would because stanbic has somehow seemed to escape my 'net' for a while now. I've been meaning them for a while now, maybe this just might be where they slip up. grin
Ok, I just got debited! 112k, guess that answers the first time of my prayers, waiting for the 2nd part of my prayers to be answered grin

Good afternoon house. All those having stanbic negative account, have you been able to resolve your problem with them? DEy no wan gree release my shikini money o sad
My prayer actually is that they should not release mine o...so we can settle out of court. cheesy grin. GTB escaped my trap then when they reversed and refunded my negative balance, stanbic also narrowly escaped when they refunded some of the criminally deducted stamp duty on my account.

So make dem no refund abeg. Make we all take them to court.

Meanwhile aside from mailing or calling them or visiting the bank, what have you done to get them to comply?

Wat am I supposed to know becus am new to face to face exchange.

Your response and advice is needed.
As MrTour mentioned go see a mallam...not that one that acts as gateman in your neighborhood o grin rate of exchange should be between 360-370, depending on your bargaining power and date of issue of your $
