You people should not turn this story into a "Feminazi-rubbish" ..... nor some Nigerian Vs. Oyinbo man rubbish.
It is neither of the two.

Its a simple case of over-reactive and insanely jealous guy who allowed his emotions to overrun his thinking and ended up killing a lady he loved while l think the lady could have handled the situation more delicately...... though we dont know the story form the guys angle yet.

Anything else is trying to give a Dog a bad name, not even "Bingo" .... so you can hang it.

Did we not read the story of the Nigerian Woman (Adeola) who stabbed her Nigerian husband to death, a few months ago, in the same America?

Let us just learn "the lessons" and move-on.

Lastpage!
'Feminazi rubbish'?
Didn't even have anything close to feminism in mind when I wrote what I wrote. That my post came out like the campaign of a feminist was not intentional.

You didn't rebuke those who wrote the kinds of comments that prompted mine.

I didn't paint the ladies as saint, either. If you had gone through my post without a biased mind you would realize I only wrote I wrote to correct those who attributed her death to Nigerian girls doing whatever it takes to date a white guy. And in a way, you just reechoed what I wrote back to me

sir, I'm not a feminist and why is it that anyone who choose to speak against the injustice on the feminine gender(Nigerian ladies especially) automatically becomes a feminist?

Anyways, thanks for your advice.

Nigerian men, I hail thee.

On this same forum, Nigerian guys would open thread to ridicule and insult Nigerian ladies. Tag them all sort of derogatory names and end it by telling the whole word that they are good for nothing but sex and no one should marry them, then go ahead to profess their love and preference for white girls. You see such comment or post with over a 100 likes and a good number of shares. (These are guys in Nig not like the ones abroad are any better)

But it's not okay for a Nigerian lady who is abroad to date a white guy. it's not okay for a Nigerian lady to date or want to date a white guy.

Double standard at it's peak. God is watching all of you on GOtv

If she was head bent on dating a white guy, she would not have ended the relationship...the story would have played out in another form. Like he killed her because she refused to let him be after he told her he was no more interested in the relationship. Not like things like this don't happen in a black to black relationship. It's very sick to attribute her death to her decision to date a white guy.

It so unfortunate and painful she had to die the way she did. May God grant her eternal rest

But I still insist, no reasonable and responsible lady would take advantage of it neither will she turn it into your duty or make it an issue when you refuse to do it or call you to come and do it. She would sure know it's her duty and you are just helping

Just like you a responsible and reasonable guy won't force her money out of her hands cheesy but of'cos she would release it to ease your burden as well.

How long will all these last?

Will your husband keep doing these things when he starts getting really busy at work? Or when you people start having kids old enough to take over the house chores.

It seems like most of you ladies are only looking at the early stages of marriage.

I don't see this helping with house chores issue continuing when you are a little older in the marriage.

But financial issues keep coming up.

The fact that one man has come on here to speak otherwise in favour of your point doesn't make other men who disagree to it devils or "wicked" (as you put it).

Let's be realistic here.
Busy at work?
We are never to busy for our habits. The moment you start doing smth and enjoys doing it, it becomes an habit.

the fact that we are growing older dose not mean we are growing apart. Growing older does not mean we should stop doing things we enjoy doing together. it even help couples to spend quality time together. If we can do little things like this together, tackling our financial issues would be child's play because the bond is likely to be there.

Try being helpful with a responsible lady and watch her go xtra mile for you.

Even with kids, there are times, you decide to do the cooking... when children see their both parent in the kitchen, it gives them a sense of security and confidence.

I didn't tag them wicked. if I'm to do that, I'd tag them egocentric and insensitive

Due to my background, I initially toed that path of assuming our wives to be housemaid. Infact, as far back as during my adolescent time, I've declared how dominating and arrogant I was going to be to my future woman. Of course, I kept to those words, and was gladly and foolishly destroying the happiness of the one person that means so much to me.

It all changed ONE MORNING when she so appreciated me for allowing her to stay back in bed while I thoroughly cleaned the entire house, and mopped every dirt. It worked wonders! Her gratitude shamed my stupidity and insensitivity. It meant she has been wishing I could get the signals and be a little helpful- just a little.

I was joyed by that gratitude I continued to be helpful to her till this day. And it has continued to work wonders. I had no choice than to question those wrong beliefs of mine, tested their validity in light of the current age, saw their folly, and gradually discarded them.

It's all give and take. I lose some part, and she does the same. To love is to change!
I hope all the guys with mighty ego would read and learn...
No one is saying you must carry knife to slice yam or pick up broom to sweep the whole house all the time. Doing it once in a while is no biggie...your presence in the kitchen even if all you do is to sit down and steal from the meat meant for cooking brings nothing but joy to we ladies.

makes us happy and feel loved and appreciated

I had to change after that laziness kept creating unnecessary troubles between us. I had to!

I can't continue folding my hands, curl my legs and be watching the TV while she toils in the kitchen to make me dinner. It's unfair.

Sometimes, even when I'm not physically involved in the chores, I emotionally involved by taking a seat next to her in the kitchen. Women aren't fools; men just refused to understand them.

I used to be pretty lazy at helping my woman. I've since changed that selfish and insensitive behaviour, and it's done wonders for me. She keeps returning the favour in kind.

Actually, we need to be empathic towards our women. The lifestyle of insensitivity our fathers lived may have worked back then; it won't NOW.

Your being independent isn't about sharing equal financial responsibilities at home but to ensure that in the case of any unforseen circumstances and your hubby is no longer around ,you can conveniently take the heat .

I have seen big boys die and their kids begin to catch hell immediately because even while he was rich and building his businesses he had not really achieved financial stability .

You have no idea what will transpire if the breadwinner in the house exits too early either by natural cause or accident .I have seen good ladies turned widow almost playing the prostitute just to fend for her kids.

Reasonable men with enough substance put a lot of money in the hands of their wives just in case something goes wrong and his family starts kicking up dust.
there is a lil digression already.
When a Nig guy tells you he wants an independent lady, I can wager my meatless dinner he's referring to a lady he wouldn't spend a dine on, he's referring to a lady who would also bring her own half of the daily bread to the table, cook his meal, wash his clothes and also satisfy his libido.

Not up to 10% of them share your idea of an Independent lady

Whatever you guys are buying from the West isn't working and it would further plunge the society into chaos.

they want "housewife" like their mums.
But complain women too like money when she wants you to foot bills.

You men must choose one. Pay for everything or share the chores and bills.
don't mind them.
they keep complaining about ladies yet the bulk of fault lies with them.

They want a superlady...I once saw a picture here on NL where a lady was carrying their kids and backing the man at the same time. that is exactly what Nigerian men want.

They want the women in their lives to share the bill with them and also single handedly take care of the home.

Help meet and not slaves
