42 people killed in the north.

100 children kidnapped in the north.

Kidnappers asking for RICE and BEANS to feed their victims. To an illiterate, all these ones are not crimes.

I had a bitter experience at Upper Iweka Park the last time I traveled to Onitsha. I crossed the road only to be rounded by some agberos claiming I have broken the rule by not using the pedestrian bridge... Meanwhile several people were crossing the road same way I did, I called thier attention to that, and they said they have no business with them.
I started shouting angrily at them, but they were adamant that my fine is #5,000... I ended up giving then #3,000 with abeg abeg..

I spent N12,000 in Onitsha driving in my car...

It's a useless place. Some parts of their market do same thing to buyers like that motor park

I initially thought they did it to us because we are from the southwest with language barrier. But, I was dazed when I saw igbo women weeping after extortion communicating in the same language...

Someone collected money and vanished another person will appear to ask another money... U will pay whatever they ask under duress
Why this please?

If you don't cry the first time you visit Onitsha, then it's not Onitsha you visited.

Whether you be Igbo, yoruba or Hausa.

Inside the electronics market, same thing. Driving in your own car, same thing.

Visit rich people.

Roll with rich men opportunistically.

They will rub off on you.

You will start thinking and acting like them. Money will show.

If you always sit at home, nothing will show. If you have rich people that have forgotten you, visit them or call them but NEVER ASK THEM FOR MONEY.

Globad:
Gtbank is getting it wrong. Customer service in the banking halls is zero. Customers stand for hours before being attended to.

Their staff are overworked and they refuse to employ more staff even when the bank is making money.

The last time I was in one of their banking halls, I spent over two hours and decided there and then that the suffering was enough. I simply transferred all my balances to another bank. There is no point closing accounts anymore. Just transferr your entire balance to another bank.

By the way, only a handful of banks in Nigeria have good customer service.

You no dey drop money for teller.

That's the solution.

Let's reason together on this.

He needs to be involved with businesses that requires less moving around and more of supervision.

He needs to be doing businesses that gives daily returns

He needs to work with the young and willing and get returns in a supervisory model

He needs to do a business that doesn't require excessive movement, doesn't deteriorate without capital funds, yet accrue interest

There are different businesses that fits the profile

Let's explore a few ideas

1. Wholesale distributorship for bottle drinks, bottled water combined with whole sale egg sales as Ibadan is connected with many large poultry. The customers for one commodity will attract more customers to buy the other commodity. With 2 Million rentage of shop and stocking can begin with these two products

2. Having a mini convenience store. With around 500-850 for rentage depending on location and the rest for stocking, a neighborhood mini Mart can be setup conveniently with this amount.

3. Sales of nylon wholesale. Buying from factories and selling to retailers is an excellent business that even 500,000 Naira can coneniently setup. It also yields daily returns

4. Transportation. 2.5 Million can setup two to four buses or cars depending on quality and handed to three drivers while you expect daily or weekly returns depending on your arrangement.

5. Saw Mill

6. Sales of Building Materials

7. Haulage Business

8. Business centre

9. Multiple POS business hubs

Bloggers style.

Too much talk, zero experience.

Politics / Covid-19 Has Destroyed 22 Million Jobs In Advanced countries, Says OECD by Beautynaija: 10:47pm On Jul 08, 2021
KEY POINTS
22 million jobs have been lost in advanced economies due to the pandemic, according to a new report from the OECD.

Job retention schemes have saved some 21 million jobs, but rich countries face the threat of rising long-term unemployment rates.
The impact of that sustained underemployment is set to be worst felt by the vulnerable, women and low-skilled workers, who are disproportionately represented in sectors hard hit by the pandemic.

As many as 22 million jobs have been lost in advanced economies due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development said Wednesday.

The OECD's annual employment outlook said job retention schemes rolled out during the height of the coronavirus crisis saved some 21 million jobs. Yet rich nations face the threat of rising long-term unemployment rates as many of the low-skilled workers displaced by the pandemic struggle to fill new job openings.

"Many of the jobs that have been lost during this pandemic crisis will not be recovered," Stephane Carcillo, head of the OECD's jobs and income division, said during a briefing to mark the report's release.

In May 2021, unemployment among OECD countries fell to 6.6%, but remained at least 1% above pre-pandemic levels. Of the 22 million who remain out of work across the OECD, 8 million are unemployed and 14 million are considered inactive.

Employment recovery forecast for Q3 2023
The OECD said it does not expect overall employment across member countries to return to normal until the third quarter of 2023. However, individual countries — such as those in Asia-Pacific — which have demonstrated a better handle on the crisis, may improve more quickly.

The impact of that sustained underemployment is set to be worst felt by the vulnerable, women and low-skilled workers, who are disproportionately represented in sectors hard hit by the pandemic.

The scars could be felt for a long time for young people in terms of employment and wages.
Stefano Scarpetta
DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYMENT, LABOUR AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS, OECD
Young people, too, are likely to be more adversely impacted than the wider adult working population, the report found.

"The scars could be felt for a long time for young people in terms of employment and wages," said Stefano Scarpetta, director of employment, labor and social affairs at the OECD.

According to the OECD, the impact for young people has been at least twice as high as for adults in general — and youths in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Spain were among the worst hit.

Young people severely impacted
That comes against the backdrop of an already tough employment landscape for young people. It took a full 10 years for youth employment to return to normal levels following the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, according to OECD data.

To avoid that "scarring effect," greater measures need to be taken this time to invest in young people — for instance through apprenticeship and reskilling, Scarpetta said.

"The key message is: We should do better this time. We cannot have young people so severely affected," he said.

Meanwhile, the emergence of remote work has been a bright spot from the situation, encouraging employers to be more flexible and inclusive in their work policies.

Going forward, Scarpetta said there is "potential for telework to be more widespread." However, accessibility challenges remain to be addressed, both in terms of who can work remotely and the resources required to do so.
