With the unabated astronomical rise in the cost of living, Nigerians are already living as if under economic sanctions by their own government…. Tinubu’s political ambition is not bigger than or above the lives of over 200 million people…. If ending Tinubu’s government will bring about genuine progress and succor to Nigerians then so be it…. lordm: |
How do you demand accountability from a corrupt government that thrives on propaganda and lies, how do you demand accountability from a government that doesn’t respect the fundamental rights of Nigerians, a government that is bent on intimidating the people and is unapologetic about its draconian economic policies…. Philipponzaghi: |
At least I proffered a solution, you’ve nothing to offer so you resort to insults, you should be ashamed for defending your political oppressors…. lordm: |
You said “These protests have become a mere distraction….” If you’re certain about what you said, so tell us…. How else should Nigerians hold an incompetent government accountable? sIfioksq: |
What you posted still doesn’t answer the question I asked, what do you gain by pushing propaganda here and then going offline to face terrible economic consequences of this bad government….? For your information I am not an IPOB member neither am I an Obi supporter…. You can read my submission before 2023 election here https://www.nairaland.com/7578573/take-tinubu-atiku-obi-sowore confusedlady: |
Tinubu’s anti-democratic government will not listen to the demands of Nigerians and is incapable of implementing the reforms I listed…. An interim government is the only way forward for Nigerians… |
This is not a laughing matter as the only power many Nigerians have now is their number and the ability to protest against what is happening…. You can laugh maybe because you’re not in the country or you’re part of those in government enjoying the nation’s wealth…. Many Nigerians are living below the poverty line and there seem to be no hope with the way things are going….. What do you and others posting negative comments on this thread gain by tribalizing issues on Nairaland and then go offline to buy fuel at almost N1000 per liter and a bag of rice edging towards N100,000….. confusedlady: |
Tinubu’s government won’t listen or implement the demands of Nigerians…. An interim government is the only way out for Nigerians…. You said “democratically elected”…. Did Tinubu win 2023 presidential election? Ttalk: |
Earlier today several military armored tanks were deployed to the FCT and stationed in Eagle Square ready to attack unarmed protesters on August 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l86lW7R1LD4&pp=ygUsTGFyZ2UgbnVtYmVyIG9mIG1pbGl0YXJ5IGFybW9yZWQgdGFua3MgYWJ1amE%3D This government is anti-democratic, dictatorial, selfish, corrupt and insensitive to the plight of the masses. Peaceful protest is a fundamental constitutional right of every citizen of this country and Tinubu enjoyed protesting against the Jonathan’s government without any infringement on his rights. It is callous of this government after failing to address the terrible situation Nigerians are going through, it still want to deny Nigerians their rights to protest? The 14 point agenda for the August nationwide protest revolves around addressing the fundamental problems of our country and many of the points made were spot on. With the desperation of this government to intimidate and silence Nigerians, it is obvious that the demands of this protest will not be entertained not to talk of it been implemented by this hopelessly corrupt insensitive Tinubu’s government. This is why on an earlier post I made a case for the dissolution of this government and an establishment of an interim government that will be saddled with the responsibility of implementing the demands of protesting Nigerians. For Nigerians to achieve genuine progress from this nationwide protest, here is a list of realistic 3 point workable agenda that Nigerians should demand for during the protest based on order of implementation…. AGENDA 1: Remove Tinubu as president either through willful resignation or forced impeachment, followed by a total dissolution of the current government AGENDA 2: Establish a caretaker interim government setup with a mandate of 2 years to implement the points listed below. - Stabilize the economy by implementing immediate reversal of fuel subsidy removal and floating of the Naira policies. It will establish a corrupt free fuel subsidy scheme, reverse sale of NNPC, sack current NNPC management and revive one national refinery (Port Harcourt refinery) within 5 months period. - Establish a new remuneration scheme that will ensure that Nigerian workers are paid a minimum wage that reflects economic realities to boost Nigerians purchasing power and revitalize the economy…. - Constitute a national reformation agenda that will entail representation from each geo political zone with a mandate to overhaul the 1999 constitution or replace it with a people-backed constitution through a sovereign national conference followed by a national referendum. The provisions of this new constitution should scrap the senate arm of the Nigerian legislative system and make legislative job a part-time endeavor - As a matter of urgency, draft and implement provisions for the restructuring of Nigeria political landscape towards decentralization to uphold Nigeria’s diversity, foster peace through resource control, decentralization of constitutional powers and regional development. - Implement the unconditional release Nnamdi Kanu, all Endsars and human rights activists political detainees - Reform the nation’s security agencies by sacking all current military and security officials benefiting from widespread insecurity and terrorism across Nigeria - Reform the nation’s anti-graft agencies (EFCC, ICPC…) by sacking all current heads of the anti-graft agencies and empower the anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute corrupt judges that have denied and continue to deny Nigerians access to justice - Setup judicial panel to probe and prosecute all past and present Nigerian leaders over looting that they supervised while in power, recover their loots and deposit it in special account to be used to fund education, healthcare and infrastructure - Reform the nation’s electoral body INEC by sacking and prosecuting the current INEC chairman, reconstitute the Nigerian electoral body INEC to remove corrupt individuals and partisan backed operatives appointed to manipulate elections. Establish diaspora voting rights for Nigerians outside the country AGENDA 3: Once the electoral reforms and all other reforms listed above are done by the interim government within 2 years, a free and fair election should be conducted to usher in a new Nigeria founded on justice, equity and fairness…. This is what I believe Nigerians should protest and agitate for…. This is what must be done now to salvage the country and put it on the path of greatness…. |
They have already deployed armored tanks at Eagle square Abuja against unarmed protesters…. Remman: |

You and helinues belong to the same club so no need to bother about your comment here…. Your tribal propaganda has been exposed for all to see…. Many reasonable Nigerians can see through your deceptions now…. confusedlady: |
International media organizations are actively monitoring events in Nigeria as regards this nationwide protest…. Many prominent Nigerians and foreigners are already talking about it on popular news platforms within and outside the country…. The awareness has been established…. It is left for Nigerians to capitalize on the momentum if they are sincerely not happy with the government and demand for genuine positive changes that will benefit the people….. this maybe the only window of opportunity for Nigerians to redeem this country’s economy…. If truly Nigerians are angry with Tinubu excesses as they claim online with incessant negative posts, insults and curses against his government then participating in this protest should not be a matter of tribe or religious affiliation….. |
As the world awaits August 1, this planned protest will determine whether as a people we are ready for genuine positive change…. As I said in my earlier post, if APC government since 2015 has been bad to Nigerians, what will happen on August 1 will be a true indicator of what majority of Nigerians think and how they feel about the incompetent government…. The world is watching…. August 1 events will be an indictment on Nigerians if they fail to exercise their constitutional rights to peaceful protest against Tinubu’s draconian economic policies…. |
Yes I made up my mind about Tinubu, APC and their bad government a long time ago…. This story if true is the height of insensitivity and evil perpetuated by them against Nigerians…. I am reading both articles, so far the rebuttal by Oando in the Vanguard article shared by the sentimental Nairaland user who replied my thread doesn’t answer all questions raised by Anonymous NG, there are interesting discrepancies I will explore when I make a post about this subject on Nairaland soon…. haffaze777: |
I actually just came across the post here on Nairaland politics section…. You could’ve just posted the link without the “U think everyone deal in lies like u?” but I guess you’re Tinubu supporter…. I will read the Vanguard story you shared now CyrusVI: |
I just came across the mind boggling criminal conspiracy and systemic corruption exposed by Anonymous NG within Nigeria’s oil industry involving of the Tinubu family, Oando, NNPC et al, see the thread below https://www.nairaland.com/8166319/investigation-malta-nnpc-situation-anonymous Why has Nairaland mods not pushed this thread to the front page? Why is no major media outlet like Vanguard or Punch reporting this story or investigating it further…. If what is exposed is true then Nigerians are in for a long ride…. It is now clear why Tinubu made himself minister of Petroleum…. Those defending this evil government are heartless people…. This news is disturbing…. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjq1_RLJtSI Tinubu spreads propaganda as pressure mounts over protests |
Really? Well this video is one of many that showed how they sabotaged Jonathan’s government using propaganda…. trutharena: |
Lol seem you’re APC and Tinubu supporter…. You stylishly dodged the bullet in your comment. Is it not a shame that your party and master enjoyed exercising his right to peaceful protests during Jonathan’s government but now want to deny Nigerians this fundamental right in a “democracy”? Chinkoalhaji34: |
What is feasible is total restructuring of Nigeria’s political landscape to decentralize power Funkyswagzz: |
I just read the news regarding Sowore’s 14 point agenda for the August nationwide protest. Many of the points raised I had already mentioned on an earlier thread I made. Unfortunately, Sowore’s 14 point agenda fails to address the fundamental issues should be at the forefront. These issues are the urgent resignation of Tinubu, the dissolution of APC bad government and the establishment of an interim caretaker government. Sowore’s 14 point agenda seem unrealistic due to the incoherent way it was listed. For Nigerians to achieve genuine progress from the protest, here is a list of realistic 12 point workable agenda that Nigerians should demand for during the protest based on order of importance…. AGENDA 1 - Remove Tinubu as president either through willful resignation or forced impeachment, followed by a total dissolution of the current government and a caretaker interim government setup with a mandate of 2 years to implement the points listed below. AGENDA 2 - Stabilize the economy by implementing immediate reversal of fuel subsidy removal and floating of the Naira policies. Establish corrupt free fuel subsidy scheme, reverse sale of NNPC, sack current NNPC management and revive one national refinery (Port Harcourt refinery) within 5 months period. AGENDA 3 - Pay Nigerian workers a minimum wage that reflects economic realities to boost Nigerians purchasing power and revitalize the economy…. AGENDA 4 - Overhaul the 1999 constitution or replace it with a people-backed constitution through a sovereign national conference followed by a national referendum AGENDA 5 - Restructure Nigeria political landscape to accommodate Nigeria’s diversity, resource control, decentralization of constitutional powers and regional development AGENDA 6 - Scrap the senate arm of the Nigerian legislative system and make legislative job a part-time endeavor AGENDA 7 - Invest heavily in education and give Nigerian students grants, not loans. Pursue aggressively free and compulsory education for children across Nigeria AGENDA 8 - Release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally and demilitarize the south east. Release unconditionally all Endsars and human rights activists political detainees AGENDA 9 - Sack current military and security officials benefiting from widespread insecurity and terrorism across Nigeria AGENDA 10 - Sack all current heads of the anti-graft agencies, empower the anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute corrupt judges that have denied and continue to deny Nigerians access to justice AGENDA 11 - Probe past and present Nigerian leaders over looting that they supervised while in power, recover their loots and deposit it in special account to be used to fund education, healthcare and infrastructure AGENDA 12 - Sack current INEC chairman, reconstitute the Nigerian electoral body INEC to remove corrupt individuals and partisan backed operatives appointed to manipulate elections. Establish diaspora voting rights for Nigerians outside the country Once the electoral reforms and all other reforms listed above are done by the interim government within 2 years, a free and fair election should be conducted to usher in a new Nigeria founded on justice, equity and fairness…. If Nigerians must protest, this is what I believe Nigerians should protest and agitate for…. This is what must be done now to salvage the country and put it on the path of greatness…. |

So you’re happy supporting this bad government and pushing malicious tribal propaganda to divide Nigerians, by generating fake likes on posts you think you own the media narrative on Nairaland….? Alright, we shall see how far you will go with this ideology… helinues: |
I made a post on key points I think Nigerian should push for during the August nationwide protest, you can check it out here https://www.nairaland.com/8157376/important-nationwide-protest-against-tinubus#131012305 |
LOL I know they will attack this thread, watch out for helinues, confusedlady et al |
Your name starts with “Hel….” I hope you can see the problem…. @helinues Nairaland south west tribal propaganda activist… well done…. helinues: |
In 2023, when Tinubu announced the removal of all subsidies and floated the Naira, Nigerians stormed social media condemning the government, venting their anger over the economic chaos as result of the policy. Tinubu and his looting associates in the National Assembly continue to enjoy the trappings of government, borrowing and spending uncontrollably, diverting billions of Naira for the purchase of SUVs, engaging in meaning less foreign trips, funding frivolous events and phantom inflated projects, while Nigerians bear the brunt of a hyper-inflation debt ridden economy saddled with high unemployment, pervasive insecurity and high cost of living. On several occasions when the news media houses report some of the atrocities of this government, Nigerians always storm social media with negative comments, venting their anger, reigning curses and posting unprintable names on Tinubu, calling for an end to the evil APC government, a sea of unending lamentations that fill the pages of online newspapers and Nairaland threads. With the current deplorable economic situation that Nigerians are going through, the August nationwide protests should present disgruntled Nigerians a window of hope, it should be a golden opportunity for Nigerians to rewrite their story and create a new chapter towards ending the reign of their political oppressors. This protest should be what I will term the judgment day for Tinubu and all political oppressors irrespective of their party… Nigerians have posted enough on social media, it is time for action and prove that Nigerians mean what they say online regarding how they feel about their government. If Nigerians fail to mobilize for the protest and grab this golden opportunity then it means that Nigerians are happy with the government and only pretend not to online, it means the sea of negative comments I read on the pages online newspapers and Nairaland are posted by bots or foolish Nigerians who don’t know what they want. August 1st 2024 will be the day Nigerians are exposed for who they really are and what they stand for, if truly Tinubu is a bad leader and Nigerians are fed up with his draconian policies, the month of August 2024 will reveal the truth about Nigerians. Already, there are indications that the leaders of many human rights groups and national organizations like the NLC, TUC and NANS are distancing themselves from the planned protest calling on the government to initiate direct dialogue with the organizers, it is glaring that some of the leaders of these organizations are sympathetic to the government either due to inherent political interests or willful neglect of the severe economic realities Nigerians are facing. It is obvious that if this protest must hold, Nigerians should know that they can not rely on any of these organizations to help or stand with them in pushing for an end to bad government policies. Also, dissecting the Nigerian social media space, it is obvious that many Nigerians have been recruited or brainwashed to turn the protest into an ethnic tribal jingoistic battle, you can even see this playing out on Nairaland as the seed of division has taken root in the heart of many users in this online forum, the “Igbo Against Yoruba” and “Yoruba Against Igbo” propaganda is winning the narrative and distracting Nigerians from seeing the true picture and what they stand to gain if in unity they mobilze for the protest, this was the same playbook Tinubu and his APC political think tank deployed to distract Nigerians while they plotted and rigged the 2023 election. It is glaring that from what is happening many Nigerians may not turn up for the protest and just like presidential election, Tinubu will perform his victory dance once more and continue with his looting agenda. It will be disastrous for Nigerians if they don’t troop out in mass to protest, the failure of this planned protest will embolden callous politicians against the people and set a dangerous precedence for what will happen in 2027. Unfortunately, Tinubu and his media warriors appear to be winning, they have succeeded in making the planned August nationwide protest a tribal contest were Igbos and Yorubas are targeted while influential figures in the north a bought over to push a placating agenda to the northern youths. I hope I am wrong but if after all the noise and lamentations over this government and Nigerians fail to participate in this protest then it means that Nigerians love Tinubu, it mean that Nigerians are happy with his government and deserve whatever consequences they are facing as a result of his government…. I will not take any negative comment I read online against this government seriously going forward….. I hope Nigerians will proof me wrong…. |
You are free to peddle the official rigged narrative that Tinubu won the election…. As prices of food and services continue to rise you will eat your words in due time for supporting Tinubu’s government…. confusedlady: |
