Well, colonial borders in Africa has only been successfully changed twice. Bakassi was not one of them. Bakassi was never Nigerias. It was under our control but was never gazetted as ours on any colonial records.
The two cases of south sudan and Eritrea were both by armed struggle. There are more internationally recognised claims to self determination, such as Palestine, or the Kurds etc. Is it Biafra that UN will leave all these to listen to? On what basis?
In Africa today, Somaliland has been independent for decades but unrecognised. Even independent Northern Cyprus is unrecognised. No UN will give you Biafra. Only Nigeria can. And currently, Nigeria doesn't want to negotiate its unity. So basically if you want it, you fight for it. Full stop.

I see IPOB identifying with Isreal in the hope it will gain it favour and by extension, its support. However Isreal does not operate that way. Isreal has no foreign policy of arming groups. Besides Isreal has no problems with Nigeria and gains nothing from arming a group against the state of Nigeria. Israel is looking for legitimacy.

Iran on the other hand has armed capable groups in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine. These are just the ones popularly known.
And make no mistakes, Iran is a very powerful country. Isreal may currently be winning against it but that is because of America and EU. Iran is one of those countries that stand on their own. It is also a cradle of civilisation and one of the richest countries in the world. It makes many of its own weapons and is the leader of the global Shi'ite movement and a potential superpower.
Also Iran has a beef with Nigeria and has incentive to interfere. Nigeria has persecuted Shiites before. Also Iran may want to secure a foothold in Africa.
If IPOB becomes a Shiite movement, it may successfully secure the support of Iran and change its reputation and strength, even if majority of Biafrans remain Christians. With Iran's support, the Alawiit of Syria which comprised only just about 20% of Syria ruled that country for over 50 years. Waiting for American or Jewish support for Biafra is of no consequence, they won't go against British interests. And neither will Russia help, they dont arm non-governmental groups as much as Iran. These countries have zero incentive to go against Nigeria

Zik moved the capital of Eastern Nigeria from Calabar , a coastal city to Enugu all out of tribal sentiments.

Before there was Abuja, Enugu was fulfilling that role with all the resources from the region concentrated in developing an inhabitable Enugu.

Lagos generates more than all the states in Nigeria added altogether.


In the end, I feel like Nigerian states should have a delegated meeting sent to Lagos governance advisory committee (GAC), to learn proper state governance and administration.

There is no way lagos benefited from being a British crown colony for 50 years before 1914 (which means Britain wanted to settle it like Cape Town).
Lagos is in the league of African cities like Nairobi, Abidjan, Luanda, Cape Town etc. The problem however is that it is grossly underperforming compared to these cities.

Does lagos have steady power supply?
Good and extensive network of roads?
City level waste management?
Fully functional traffic lights or cameras?
Standard international airport?
Is lagos finer than even Abuja of yesterday?

Lagos is suffering from what ails Nigeria as a whole and Nigeria has absolutely nothing to learn from lagos. The vast financial strength of lagos contradicts what is on ground. A visit to simple Abidjan will tell you this. No wonder people do not recognise lagos when propaganda, over-embelished photos of its skyline is released.

Every time I hear people making irrational excuses for government claiming the coal, rocks, yen! yen!! yen!!! are the reasons Enugu don't have good and steady water, I get very annoyed. Even the water from the tankers are so dirty and expensive.

Even 9thmile with good water source don't have a functioning government water supply.

water is also a problem in Nevada. In Qatar, the government converts sea water into drinking water. SE is not connected to the sea. The only way out is for Enugu to dig for ground water (which is the current ineffective method) or to look for a way to convert a river into drinking water or partner with a state that is close to a large water body.
