It's painful for me as a Liverpool fan since 2004,I've watched the best leave for either Madrid or Barca,The least Coutinho could gave done was to give us the 2nd half of the season, he was so desperate for the move,it's Klopp I pity the most cos it will be difficult to replace him and it will disrupt his plans, that was why he didn't allow him leave during the summer cos of the timing,FSG need to show more sincerity towards their ambition to winning silverware, under their reign we've seen the likes of Torres Suarez and Sterling leave for a profit they need to change but with the signing of VVD it shows some intent ......wish the little magician all the best at Camp Nou.
It won't be easy for Jurgen Klopp I know, but he can't hold him any longer because Coutinho's mind is made up to leave Anfield and Klopp knows that. Remember that our last 2 games Klopp didn't play him and we won which means that LFC players will adapt to it in no distant time. And one thing I'm sure of is that Klopp has someone he's eyeing and with that £142m from FCB he will get whoever he wants and nurture him. It is well shaa.. #YNWA

*edited*
Mind you also that LFC's problem is not midfield but defence line and with the arrival of VVD I know there'll be an improvement, I believe also that Klopp will get like 1/2 defenders to strengthen our back line and we are good to go

Politics › FG Has Created 8m Blue Collar Jobs - Ngige, Minister Of Labour by BeeBeeOoh(op): 7:45pm On Jan 06, 2018
Minister of labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has created over eight million jobs in less than three years.

Ngige said the jobs were mostly blue collar jobs, which he said was the main hub in employment generation today.

He said farming, carpentry, bricklaying, tiling and many others constitute the blue collar jobs which the federal government was now using to redeem youths from joblessness occasioned by lack of white collar jobs.

The minister, who spoke to journalists Friday at Ifitedunu, Anambra State after the ground breaking ceremony of a specialist skill acquisition centre, said because of the huge employment potential in the blue collar jobs, the federal government decided to build centres where it would give youths of all educational qualification different levels of training that would help them secure jobs.

He said, “There are no white collar jobs any longer. If you are waiting for one, you will wait for a long time.

“People are now finding employment in the blue collar jobs, and it is even more profitable. How many of you are aware that the day pay for carpenters and other artisans have increased?

“In Abuja they collect as high as N10,000. If they get jobs even if it is five times a month, do you know how much that is? How many white collar jobs pay that?”

Ngige said the unavailability of artisans was because most of them had gone to farm, and there was need to train a new generation of tillers, builders, and people in other crafts.

“In farming alone, this government has generated lots of jobs. You eat Anambra rice here, others eat Abakaliki rice, in Abuja I eat Kano rice and even Imo too has come up with their. All these brings employment,” he said.

Speaking on the Ifitedunu specialist skill acquisition centre, the minister said the centre was budgeted for in 2017 budget, and was again captured in the 2018 budget.

“What that means is that the funds for the project is already available. There is not fear of the project being abandoned.

“Federal government will construct this skill acquisition centre with maximum dispatch,” he said.

Politics › Cattle Ranching Is An Attack On Fulani Culture - Journalist Says by BeeBeeOoh(op): 4:57pm On Jan 06, 2018
I am as angry as everyone else regarding the killing of innocents in Benue state by herdsmen.

In fact, days ago, I expressed my disappointment in the government owing to its reluctance and silence in the face of the killings in a social media piece.

I wrote: “In Nigeria, national security is often supplanted by ethnic security. What is considered as a security threat by one administration may be treated with levity by another administration.

“The ethnic and religious background of the leadership determines to a large extent its response to any caustic issue. This is why the Jonathan administration played possum with the Boko Haram crisis because it believed the insurgency was a problem created by the north to make the country ungovernable for him.

“Now, herdsmen have been on a resolute killing campaign since the Buhari administration came on board. But the government has done nothing, absolutely nothing to check them, except for occasional appeals to families of victims not to carry out reprisal attacks.

“In fact, this government has refused to name the killers. At best, it will call the killings a farmer-herder clash. And you wonder how the killing of 50 innocents in Benue by herdsmen is a clash.

“I understand that the thinking of the government is that herdsmen are being labelled as killers (by opposition elements and those who hate Buhari) because the president is Fulani.

“The fact is President Buhari’s deodorisation of the herdsmen menace gives vent to the suggestion that it is all a family affair.”

However, I ask for the thawing of citizens’ animus against Fulani pastoralists.

The recent attacks have spawned trenchant calls for cattle-ranching and for an end to nomadic herding. I will explain briefly why we must proceed with caution.

Not all herdsmen are Fulani, but nomadic herding is an “eternal” heritage of the group. It is not just an occupation for the Fulani, but a tradition steeped in a long history and culture. This is the reason suggestions of cattle-ranching will always be rejected by them.

We must realise that, for the Fulani, nomadic herding is not an economic alternative, but a sacerdotal pursuit. Compelling them to set up ranches without understanding that the idea itself is a “culture shock” will not do any good.

Tradition dies hard, but it dies anyway. The Fulani could switch to cattle-ranching in the future, but I doubt it will be by compulsion or by heavy mental and verbal bombardment.

If the Fulani will ranch cattle; they must be educated as to the whys and wherefores of it, and not coerced. They must also be given time to shed the old tradition and to assimilate a new one.

As it is, herdsmen have become pariahs in the country. Some ethnic groups would want them far removed from their area. This should not be the case. In fact, demonising them will only escalate the current crisis.

We should condemn the attacks, but we must not make an enemy of Fulani herdsmen.

Inviting trouble in an innocuous way After the implementation of anti-grazing law in Benue State pushed over 85% of Fulani herdsmen from Benue to settle in Awe, they started destroying, at an alarming rate, farmlands belonging to others. This situation made Victoria to invite her mother who is a widow to come over and help her husband harvest their farm produce of yam and guinea corn since she was very busy with her shop business in Lafia.

Crime › Benue Killing: Fulani Blame Hostilities On Government Draconian Law by BeeBeeOoh(op): 6:18am On Jan 05, 2018
Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), a Fulani group, has blamed the prevailing hostilities in Benue State that have claimed scores of lives on “the enactment of draconian, repressive and peace-breaching laws targeted at the means of livelihood of over 18 million Fulani herdsmen in the country without regards to the consequences of such oppressive laws to the corporate existence of the country,” by the state government.

In a statement signed by the National Secretary General and Board of Trustee (BoT) member of the association, Alhaji Sale Bayari, the group urged the federal government and the leadership of the National Assembly to immediately set up a high-powered committee to look into the deadly clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the country, which according to him, has the capacity to a cause a national security crisis.

Bayari also called for a cessation of hostilities in Benue “while amicable and long-lasting solutions are being sought at a national level over the unnecessary bloodletting that has the capacity of radicalising and militarising both the farmers and the herdsmen that can result into an insurgency and resistance, with the consequent total breakdown of law and order in the country.”

He observed: “There is a relative peace in Taraba State today despite the alleged killing of over 900 herdsmen on the Mambilla Plateau of Sardauna Local Government Area of the state between June 17 and 23, 2017, was because the association instituted a legal intervention by employing the services of a lawyer, Professor Yusuf Dankofa, who filed a suit against the Taraba State Government and the federal government at the ECOWAS Court and the International Criminal Court of Justice at the Hague respectively seeking justice for the victims.

“The association also filed another law suit challenging the Taraba State House of Assembly and the state government on the enactment and signing into law the Taraba State Anti-Open Grazing Law.”

He added that “GAFDAN did all these in order to discourage people from taking the law into their hands for self-help like what is happening today in Benue State. As a law-abiding association, we shall always operate within the ambit of the law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Politics › The Real Reasons For Fuel Scarcity In Nigeria - Kachikwu Reveals by BeeBeeOoh(op): 8:59pm On Jan 04, 2018
Lack of sufficient reserve, low clearance speed of petrol at the ports, diversion of products are some of the reasons for the ongoing fuel crisis being experienced in the country, says Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.

Mr. Kachikwu said this while speaking before a meeting of the joint committee of the Senate and House of Representatives. The meeting was convened to find a lasting solution to the fuel crisis.

“The causes were; first, diversion was very key, second, there were logistics issues,” he said. “Once those diversions began Apapa Wharf was a problem to be able to move things due to bad roads, lack of sufficient reserve in our system making us unable to respond to the supply gap arising largely from the fact that private sector pulled out from supply.

“There has been a loose enforcement on diversion in the country. We have not been able to police our depots adequately.”

He explained that disparity in the landing cost has prevented the private marketers from importing petroleum into the country.

“Going forward we need to address the issue of pricing, there is a disparity between landing cost and cost we are selling. If we are going to sell at N145, we need to put some mechanisms in place so that the private sector will go back importation. We have a committee looking at this and we are still going to submit a report for review.

“Currently, the landing cost of product is N170 to N171 and we sell at N145 and the price we are allowed to sell is N145.”
He said the executive is currently working on modalities to permanently resolve the petrol crisis and prevent it from rearing its head any other time.
“We need to make marketers responsible for every tank of fuel up until point the point of delivery.

“One mechanism will be to look at working with CBN to have an exchange rate mechanism that enables them to stay at N245 price. If we do that, then they (marketers) can import without price differentials.

“In moments of normalcy, we are fine. In moments of emergency, our system is slow to respond. We also need to address our refineries.”

The fuel scarcity across Nigeria has been on for about one month and worsened during the Yuletide season. While the scarcity has reduced in major cities like Abuja and Lagos, due to the efforts of the NNPC and petroleum ministry, it is still on in many other states like Kano and Akwa Ibom. In such states, many filling stations that have the product still sell at over N200 per litre, contrary to the N145 per litre official price.
