PRESS RELEASE BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL:

WE CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE ARREST OF ALHAJI BUBA GALADIMA AS PDP AND ATIKU'S CAMPAIGN PERFECT PLANS TO RELEASE FAKE PRESIDENTIAL RESULTS AHEAD OF INEC; PLANS TO MOBILISE HOODLUMS FOR CHOREOGRAPHED PROTESTS

Devastated by authentic results filtering out of polling units nationwide, our usual sources within the camp of the PDP have informed us that an emergency meeting of the main opposition party has been summoned for today somewhere in Abuja.

Top on the agenda of the PDP is to activate the last strand of their Dubai strategies that have since collapsed like a pack of cards: they plan to release fake results of the Presidential Election later today or early Monday morning that they claim to have compiled themselves.

Our information is that they aim to create crises and confusion that will lead to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claiming victory in a day or two from today ahead of the official announcement of the results by INEC. Then, what would follow will be some carefully choreographed protests by pockets of hoodlums in some parts of the country. The ultimate aim is to curry the sympathy of our foreign friends and push us to the Venezuela situation.

Our call is therefore to INEC, NIGERIA BROADCASTING COMMISSION and all law-enforcement agencies to continually warn the PDP and all their surrogates like the amorphous CUPP and their likes that anyone who flouts the law on announcement of official results will be made to face the law. Opposition does not confer immunity on anyone to flout the law.

In preparation for this reckless move, some PDP social media agents are already flying some kites on-line as to the number of States allegedly 'won' by PDP. In fact, Alhaji Buba Galadima, an official spokesperson for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has made a short video announcing PDP as the 'winner' of the Presidential Election. As an official spokesperson, he is clearly acting on behalf of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and on his instruction. We, therefore call for the immediate arrest, interrogation and prosecution of Alhaji Buba Galadima in this regard. The world is watching and waiting on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to say something on the video by Alhaji Buba Galadima.

Consequently, we urge all well-meaning Nigerians, the International Community and even reasonable members of the Opposition not to be bought by these cheap antics of the PDP. Let's restrain our wards from being used by these unscrupulous elements. Nigeria will continue to exist after this election.

Over the years, the PDP had been declared 'winner' of Presidential elections under controversial circumstances. On those occasions, President Muhammadu Buhari never took laws into his hands and declared himself President. He also never declared parallel results. He availed himself of constitutional means to address his grievance by approaching the law courts.

Their latest devilish plot against the country is a clear indication that their apology to the Nigerian people was just a hoax. They have learnt nothing and they have forgotten nothing as they just cannot win any election fair and square.

Thank you.

PoliticsPress Release By APC Presidential Campaign Council On Election Collation by beegodson(op): 9:04pm On Feb 23, 2019
PRESS RELEASE BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL:

A CLARION CALL FOR NATIONWIDE SECURITY ALERT

It has come to our knowledge from insiders within the PDP Campaign Council who are making last-minute efforts to switch allegiance to President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress that the PDP is currently recruiting armed thugs and miscreants nationwide to attack ward and local government collation centres this evening till the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

The purpose is to disrupt the collation process of the elections nationwide in order to cause crises and make this election inclusive. As we know, most of these collation centres are usually in schools or other places that are poorly protected.

This is therefore a clarion call to all law enforcement agencies to mobilise extra armed security to protect all collation centres nationwide. We also appeal to Nigerians of goodwill and our supporters to provide standby electricity this night at these collation centres.

We also call on all our party agents, supporters and patriotic Nigerians to stick with these election results from the various units up to the State Collation Centres. There is no cause for any political party at this stage to jubilate or be dejected. Nothing has been won and nothing has been lost. Official results have not been declared. Hence we call for eternal vigilance on the part of our agents and supporters.

We repeat: NOBODY SHOULD JUBILATE NOW AND ABANDON HIS/HER DUTIES. LET US KEEP OUR FEET FIRMLY ON THE GROUND AND STICK WITH OUR ASSIGNED ROLE(S) UNTIL FINAL RESULTS ARE DECLARED BY INEC.

Thank you.

PoliticsNews Flash by beegodson(op): 4:31pm On Feb 22, 2019
NEWS ALERT:
This is to alert All Progressives Congress (APC) members and agents partaking in tomorrow, Saturday February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections to be watchful during the sorting phase nationwide.

Information at our disposal revealed the planned conspiracy to compromise electoral officials by agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure that huge votes cast in favour of the APC are invalidated through multiple thumb prints.

The scheme is for those involved to have fresh ink on their fingers to double print ballot papers handed over to them during sorting thereby automatically rendering votes cast for the APC invalid.

APC agents must therefore insist on seeing the thumbs of INEC officials and other parties agents at the sorting centres as well as insisting that ink pads are totally taken away from the Sorting and Collation centres.

Experience from the 2018 governorship polls in Osun State disclosed that about 47,000 ballots cast in favour of the APC were rendered invalidated using this plot.

We again restate that our agents and supporters conduct themselves peacefully but they must also remain vigilant as we urge them not to hesiate from reporting suspicious acts, especially through various intrigues to outsmart them immediately to party officials as well as security operatives at the voting centres if any of such act is identified.
PoliticsPublic Announcement From Coalition Of Apc Support Groups by beegodson(op): 2:35pm On Feb 21, 2019
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FROM COALITION OF APC SUPPORT GROUPS

The PDP strategy for the elections on Saturday is aimed at suppressing APC votes and inflating PDP votes. In the North and SW they are trying to buy PVCs from Buhari supporters, and then destroying these PVCs.

In the East and SS they are stockpiling cloned results sheets and other sensitive electoral material, as well as trying to manipulate Card Readers, to boost their chances.

This is their strategy this week. We are fully aware of all their evil plans. Tell all your friends and relatives, especially Buhari supporters - they should not sell their PVCs to anybody.

If they sell their PVC they are selling their future. PDP will come and drag Nigeria back into darkness.

PDP is desperate but they have already failed. On Saturday Nigerians will send them into eternal oblivion.

PoliticsPdp Now Self-appointed Protector Of Ballot Box Snatchers – Presidency by beegodson(op): 4:25pm On Feb 19, 2019
STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PDP NOW SELF-APPOINTED PROTECTOR OF BALLOT BOX SNATCHERS – PRESIDENCY

The Presidency has reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari's comment that anyone who dares to snatch ballot boxes during next weekend's elections will be doing this for the last time, saying it should be seen as a strong message against the long history of savagery associated with elections in the country.

Speaking to State House Correspondents on Monday, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, recalled some past elections in parts of Nigeria, during which innocent voters lost their lives while ballot boxes were being snatched by armed thugs.

"Snatching ballot boxes often entails putting the lives of innocent Nigerians at risk. About 10 years ago, evidence was brought before an election tribunal from one of the states in North Central of the gruesome killing of 26 prospective voters by ballot box snatchers. Their modus operandi is well known. They storm election venues in commando style, overwhelm the law-enforcement agents and seize ballot boxes leaving a trail of death and injury,” Shehu said.

According to him, "Anyone who dares to put the lives of innocent citizens at risk in their desperation to rig elections, must be prepared for the possibility of losing their own lives because our security agents will certainly not stand by, clap for them and watch them kill and maim."

He added that President Buhari had the safety and security of Nigerians uppermost in mind when he made the comment, and should be praised rather than criticised for issuing this stern warning to potential ballot box snatchers.

Shehu further expressed concern about those attacking the president's comment, and their worry over the fate of anyone caught snatching ballot boxes.

"This sounds like members of the opposition, specifically the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who have perfected plans to rig the elections and to snatch ballot boxes. They can tell that President Buhari is not prepared to tolerate their antics this time around, and they are afraid. They have shown their intent,” he said.

The presidential spokesperson noted that no one had anything to fear from the President's comments if their conscience and intentions are clear.

"Let's just have free and fair elections and no one need worry about anything," he said.

PoliticsPolls: Katsina’ll Deliver 2.8m Votes To Buhari, Masari – APC by beegodson(op): 6:12pm On Feb 11, 2019
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/02/polls-katsinall-deliver-2-8m-votes-to-buhari-masari-apc/

KATSINA – Ahead of the Saturday’s elections, the Campaign Council of the Katsina State All Progressive Congress, APC, has vowed to deliver 2.8 million votes and give a resounding victory to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari for their second term bid. APC Atiku’s candidature, a blessing to Nigeria, says Jerry Useni Chairman of the campaign council, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, disclosed this while addressing newsmen ahead of the visit of the Presidential campaign train of President Buhari to Katsina State on Thursday. Inuwa, who doubles as Secretary to the State government, said he is confident that the party will win but wants to give the President a resounding victory. He said that in 2015, the APC won with 1.3 million votes but that this time, the party intends to double the votes to 2.8 million. According to him, “About 3.2 million Permanent Voters Card, PVCs have been collected so far in the state. Out of that, we want to give President Buhari 2.8 million votes. “In 2015, it was less than this. About 2.8 million PVCs were collected, vote casted was about 2 million and we delivered 1.3 million votes for President Buhari. We intend to double that this election. “We, in Katsina State are re-assuring President Buhari of our unflinching support as he is determined to take Nigeria to the next level. “The campaign will be the grand finale, from here (Katsina) he (President Buhari) will move to his hometown, Daura for the elections. “We urge the people to come out in masse to give Mr. President a rousing welcome been his home state and an APC state,” Inuwa said. On the party’s electioneering campaign carried out in the state, Inuwa lauded the exercise saying it was hitch-free as no incidence of thuggery was recorded. He said the outings was impressive and recorded large turnouts. He also said that the party received quite a number of decampees from the opposition parties, majorly from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that no serious minded person is remaining in PDP of Katsina state. Inuwa, however, urged the electorates to troop out en masse to vote President Buhari, Governor Masari and the APC candidates all through for the party to emerge victorious in the upcoming polls.

PoliticsPDP Jealous Of Buhari, Says Garba Shehu by beegodson(op): 12:46pm On Feb 06, 2019
They are panicky and jealous. It should worry PDP that nobody is coming across the border to understudy PDP," Shehu said.

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKFEB 02, 2019

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “jealous” of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated this in a Facebook post on Saturday, in response to the opposition party's comments on the presence of Niger Republic governors at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Kano State on Thursday.

According to Shehu, the presence of leaders from other African countries at the President’s campaign rally is proof of the “Buhari phenomenon that is sweeping across the entire continent”.

The statement read: “On the issue of Niger Republic Governors visit to Nigeria, what we want PDP to know, there is a Buhari phenomenon that is sweeping across the entire continent. Candidates for national leadership in each country are doing whatever they can to understand the Buhari phenomenon, to copy it, to institute it.

“That’s why people from the African continent…when they had the presidential election in Ghana, there was a candidate who branded himself the Buhari of Ghana.

“When they had the presidential election in Chad last year, there was a Buhari of Chad. They had printed posters with their pictures with Buhari side by side. So, Nigeria has been gifted with an honest leader, a man endowed with rare qualities and people are trying to copy that.

“So, if our neighbours from Niger come to witness how President Buhari is doing his politics, what is the problem with that? Is there any law that is broken? Or did they see anyone that will buy vote or collect PVC?

“So, it’s jealousy. They are panicky and jealous. It should worry PDP that nobody is coming across the border to understudy PDP.”

PoliticsWhen The Thief Is Shouting “thief”: The Case Of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by beegodson(op): 7:53pm On Dec 30, 2018
PRESS RELEASE BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION:

WHEN THE THIEF IS SHOUTING “THIEF”:
THE CASE OF ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR

A few days ago, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, called out President Muhammadu Buhari over certain allegations of “corrupt practices” which the President allegedly condones in his government. Whilst we have repeatedly addressed each and every of the instances cited by him to show the transparent nature of the government, it is shocking that the Presidential candidate of the main opposition has refused to issue a personal statement up till this minute clarifying in details his record of crass corruption and abuse of office. He is clearly taking Nigerians for a ride and hopes to distort the ethical revolution in public office that Nigerians clearly desire to his own philosophy of abusing public office to promote private interests. By his subliminal messages, he wants Nigerians to accept that becoming wealthy by abusing public office is not a bad thing after all.

With the avalanche of fake and unsubstantiated news released in the last few days, it is now clear that PDP’s strategy in the run up to the elections is to spread fake news and make wild allegations without any proof against the President and the Vice President. This is clearly to divert attention from the record of crass corruption and abuse of office of their own candidate. Nigerians cannot and should not be insulted by the PDP after 16 years of looting of the nation, by now putting forward a man whose record of corruption they very much acknowledge, but would rather we all overlook it.

Some of the indisputable facts regarding Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are as follows:

1. The U.S Congress in a report titled, KEEPING FOREIGN CORRUPTION OUT OF THE UNITED STATES: FOUR CASE HISTORIES, featured Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as one of the four notorious cases of money laundering in the world!

2. The Congress report said “Jennifer Douglas Abubakar, a U.S. citizen, is the fourth wife of Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a former candidate for the Presidency of Nigeria...... from 2000 to 2008, Ms. Douglas helped her husband bring over $40 million in suspect funds into the United States, including at least $1.7 million in bribe payments from Siemens AG, a German corporation, and over $38 million from little known offshore corporations, primarily LetsGo Ltd. Inc., Guernsey Trust Company Nigeria Ltd., and Sima Holding Ltd”.

3. Atiku’s co-conspirators, Williams Jefferson and Siemens in the bribery deal were convicted and Jefferson went to jail. By running for President of Nigeria, Atiku intends to get some immunity from prosecution. Already he is hoping to obtain a visa to visit the US, as a guest of the State department, a concession that the US will grant to a Presidential candidate of Africa’s biggest Nation.

4. Both the BBC and Voice of America reported that “In a probe ordered by Mr. Obasanjo, (then Nigerian President) the vice-president was accused of diverting $125m from a public development trust fund into his personal businesses.”; Please see 1016 BBC, Profile: Atiku Abubakar, January 25, 2007, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/ 6292141.stm (Voice of America, “Nigerian Vice President Charged with Corruption,” October 10, 2006, http:// www1.voanews.com/english/news/a-).

5. A Senate subcommittee investigating the PTDF indicted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, having found that he abused his office by aiding and abetting the diversion of public funds in the sum of $145 million” as loans to his friends. This report was a subject of a full-blown investigation by the EFCC which actually recommended his prosecution in a court of law. That report is still pending and alive till today.

How do we as a Nation end up with anyone with this sordid record locally and internationally? We have heard the lame defence that the U.S Justice Department said it has no pending case against Atiku Abubakar. That is only a defence for the ignorant ones. In the United States, there are indictments the Justice Department can confirm to the world. But there is another category of indictments known as SEALED INDICTMENTS that the Justice Department cannot confirm to anyone. These indictments are sealed under the orders of a Judge. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has a sealed indictment waiting for him in the U.S. The day he visits the U.S, not as a candidate in an election, he will face charges.
There is no question that the reasons for Atiku’s frequent contests for the Presidency are to steal the resources of Nigeria for self-enrichment and to prevent prosecution for his crimes of laundering and receiving bribes. No amount of fake news or ridiculous false allegations against the President or Vice President that can wash away the well-documented history of theft.
We also challenge the PDP to publish a single line in the sub-committee recommendation of the House of Reps on the NEMA Emergency purchases where the report accused the Vice President of embezzlement of funds. They either do this within 24 hours or keep quiet forever. It is even noteworthy that the House of Representatives have not adopted any such recommendation to make it a report of the House.
We also challenge them to show any proof whatsoever of their allegations regarding the TraderMoni.
After three days of publicly announcing that they have hard proof that the President’s relations bought shares in Etisalat and Keystone Bank, the PDP has not produced a single piece of paper, a document of any sort to buttress the grave allegations it made. This is how shameless and callous the Atiku team has become, all in a desperate bid to get their hands on the public purse.
Lastly, we challenge Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the umpteen time to produce his tax receipts for 2015, 2016 and 2017. It is shocking that a man who has not been paying his Personal Income Taxes now says he wants to “get Nigerians working again” - whatever that means. He is only deceiving himself and not the intelligent Nigerians that we know.
Thank you.

Politics11 Reasons Why Atiku Will Lose In 2019- by beegodson(op): 8:35pm On Dec 27, 2018
11 REASONS WHY ATIKU WILL LOSE IN 2019

1. PORT HARCOURT DOLLARS: He overspent on the PDP Primary in Port Harcourt, out of desperation. Spending between $9,000 and $12,000 per delegate was too much, some of that money should have been saved for the campaign proper. Also he entered into too many deals and political concessions in PH, in order to get the ticket, those deals are now coming back to haunt him.

2. PETER OBI: He made a big mistake in the way he chose Peter Obi as running mate. He didn’t consult widely, no wonder the Southeast Governors are not happy with him, and will very likely betray him. Even if he was still going to choose Obi, he should have at least made an effort to carry stakeholders along.

3. NO ABUJA MONEY: This is the first time the PDP is running a presidential campaign without access to Federal Funds. PDP campaigns in the past have always been done with Abuja money, not personal resources. A lot of people haven’t realised this yet, but when find out in January 2019 that money is not flowing like they thought, they will have second thoughts about Atiku.

4. CLOWNS: The Atiku campaign is being fronted by many of the same characters who led Goodluck Jonathan astray. Characters like Reno, FFK, Ben Bruce and Osita Chidoka. These are people who everything they touch goes bad.

5. TOO MANY LIES: The Lies are getting too much, another big sign of desperation. They lied that Peter Obi’s account was frozen, lied that Atiku called Lt Col Sakaba’s widow, lied that Nigeria has only 2 million cars, lied that Atiku employs 100,000 staff, lied that Atiku will pay his staff the new minimum wage. It’s like Atiku and Obi are now in a big competition to see who is the bigger liar. Soon they will tell us LYING is not CORRUPTION.

6. SOUTH WEST: The South West is not happy at all with PDP. The PDP has not treated the SW very well at all. The zone has been deprived of the party chairmanship which was originally zoned to it. It has also been deprived of Campaign DG and Party Spokesman. The previous holders of these two positions were from SW, but they were kicked aside. The highest ranking SW person in the Atiku campaign is Fayose, that’s how seriously Atiku rates Yoruba people.

7. NORTH: Atiku is not as popular as he would like you to believe in the North. His 8 years as VP did not convince anyone he had the interests of the masses of the North at heart. All he was interested in was amassing personal wealth, to expand a business empire that mostly benefits him alone. You can see that many PDP aspirants in the North are using PMB’s photo to campaign, instead of Atiku’s own. Many aspirants are ashamed of identifying with a candidate with such a strong local and international reputation of corruption.

8. CONFUSION: Out of desperation the Atiku campaign has appointed EIGHT spokespersons. This is a recipe for confusion, and the confusion has already started. You can already see the nonsense statements all the spokesmen are issuing, including the one that claims Buhari owns Keystone Bank, when in actual fact it is Atiku and his in-laws who own it.

9. NO UNITY: There are too many strange bedfellows in the Atiku Campaign, and there is nothing central to unite all of them. At least you can say APC is united by the belief in PMB and his vision for Nigeria. Nothing like that to unite people behind Atiku, apart from the belief in quick money and access to public resources. And everyone knows that money is not a good binding agent; it will divide more than it can unite.

10. FAILED PLAN: The Atiku Plan was an instant flop. It showed that all the time they went to spend in Dubai writing it was a waste. They must have been focused on other things in Dubai, maybe the lies and fake news strategy they have been trying to roll out. The only thing people can remember from the Atiku Plan is that Atiku wants to sell NNPC to his cronies (the same way he sold things when he was VP), and that all his plans are 6-year plans, there is nothing he intends to achieve in 4 years.

11. SOUTH EAST: Atiku is seriously banking on the Southeast to win the 2019 election. Another sign of the bad judgement that Obasanjo has talked about in the past. Yet his (Atiku’s) base in the region is smaller than GEJ’s base in 2015. A lot of Igbos have had their eyes opened, and are seeing all the infrastructure work PMB is doing in the SE. PMB will get more votes from the region in 2019 than he did in 2015.
PoliticsOshiomhole: God Will Not Allow PDP Return To Power by beegodson(op): 3:25pm On Dec 21, 2018
Oshiomhole accused the former ruling party of looting the country throughout its 16 years in power. He said only President Muhammadu Buhari can salvage the country and return it to prosperity.

BY THISDAY NEWSPAPERDEC 21, 2018

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that God will not allow the return of the opposition Peoples Democratic Power (PDP) to power in 2019.

He accused the former ruling party of looting the country throughout its 16 years in power.

Oshiomhole said only President Muhammadu Buhari can salvage the country and return it to prosperity.

The APC helmsman spoke Thursday in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa State while flagging off the 2019 state-wide campaign of the party.

He urged the people of Nasarawa State to vote massively for President Buhari and other APC candidates in the 2019 general elections.

He also presented the party’s flag to the governorship candidate, Abdullahi Sule and all other APC Senate, House of Representatives and state Assembly candidates.

Oshiomhole said he knew that the Nasarawa APC made the choice of Sule as the party’s govenorship candidate because they have known his track record.

He said: “I am not really the one to introduce him to you. Mine is to present this symbol of our commitment, of our unity, of our determination to enable him not to only contest and win the governorship, but to ensure that after victory the office is used to promote and deliver the greatest good to this great number of citizens and residents of Nasarawa State.”

He explained that God healed the president to shame the PDP, which he said wished him dead.

Buhari, according to him, will win the 2019 general elections with landslide votes.

He lauded the giant strides of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in the state and his policy of inclusiveness and urged the APC governorship candidate to follow the footsteps of the outgoing Al-Makura when elected.

He explained that he has painstakingly followed the developmental achievements of the governor in all sectors of the state and appealed to the people of Nasarawa South to reward Al-Makura by voting him to represent them at the Upper Chamber.

Al-Makura urged the people of the state to return President Buhari in 2019 and all other APC candidates in the state.

He said the president has done a lot for the state by providing 33 KVA electricity and award of contract for the dualisation of Keffi- Makurdi, Abuja road among many other achievements.

He thanked all the governorship aspirants of the party in the state for accepting to work tirelessly for the victory of the party in the state.

Sule promised to use his experience in the private sector to bring development to the state.

He noted that he will continue from where Al-Makura stopped and take the state to the next level, adding that he will hit the ground running immediately he takes over from Al-Makura because he has already set the template.

PoliticsWhy Buhari’ll Win 2019 Polls With Wider Margin —lai Mohammed by beegodson(op): 3:18pm On Dec 21, 2018
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, boasted, yesterday, that President Muhammadu Buhari would win next year’s presidential poll with a wider margin than he did in 2015 because of higher verifiable achievements in the last three and a half years. The minister, who addressed newsmen in his office, also said Buhari had no real opponent, since the opposition candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was more interested in whipping up sentiments and politicising killings in the country than face real issues of governance and development, which are of interest to the Nigerian people. : Minister for Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed He said: “Buhari is not only going to win next year’s election but I am very convinced that he is going to win with a higher margin than he did in 2015. The reason is that he is impacting positively on the lives of Nigerians more than any other leader has done in recent history.” The minister, who also reflected on the unruly behaviour of some lawmakers during the presentation of the 2019 budget by Buhari to the National Assembly on Wednesday, described those who were involved in the action as engaging in parliamentary rascality and infantile politicking. He noted “Yes, some unruly lawmakers threw away parliamentary decorum to behave like ordinary protesters or agitators. It is nothing but bad politicking (infantile politicking/parliamentary rascality).” “But the real news is that the unruly action provided the platform for our party, the APC, to assert its majority in the National Assembly. The plan by the opposition was to embarrass the President and prevent him from presenting the budget. “But they were comprehensively overwhelmed by our lawmakers who are in the majority. That also sends a clear signal to the opposition that they lack the number to override the President’s decision not to assent to the Electoral Bill. I must also note that all through the sniping by some unruly lawmakers, the President remained dignified and presidential. He rose above it all to make his presentation.”

PoliticsBuhari’s 2019 Budget’ll Take Nigeria To Next Level – UPP by beegodson(op): 1:24pm On Dec 21, 2018
The United Progressive Party has described the 2019 Appropriation Bill presented on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari as a budget of hope that will take Nigeria to the next level.

It chided members of the National Assembly, who booed the President during the budget presentation, for their “dishonourable conduct, uncivil and rancorous behavior,” which it said was a national embarrassment.

The UPP said this in a statement on Thursday by its National Chairman, Dr Chekwas Okorie.

“President Buhari’s decision to complete abandoned projects awarded by previous governments not minding the obnoxious political leaning of beneficiaries of the contracts, is the hallmark of progressive leadership. It is patriotism at full display.

“This further reaffirms and justifies the decision of the United Progressive Party to support President Buhari’s reelection bid,” Okorie said.

Condemning the lawmakers, the UPP national chairman added, “We have no doubt that the manipulation of elections since the return of democracy in Nigeria paved the way for some people of low character and poor upbringing to become members of the National Assembly.

“The Nigerian electorate are rational. Given credible, transparent, free and fair elections, people who do not know the difference between partisan interests and matters of crucial national importance that transcend party lines will not be elected into the National Assembly to disgrace the nation in this manner.

“Freedom of legislators to express themselves in unfettered manner while sitting in the National Assembly is no excuse for rascality.

“The hallowed chamber of the National Assembly was thoroughly desecrated on December 19, 2018, a date that will go down in history as one of the lowest points in the history of our presidential democracy.”
PoliticsWe’ve Raised N1.2bn For Buhari’s Campaign — Rice Farmers by beegodson(op): 12:08pm On Dec 21, 2018
The Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria and Fertilizers Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria said they have raised N1.2bn to support the re-election campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari in next year’s presidential election.

The groups stated that the money was realised through individual donation of N100 each by their members.

The President of RIFAN, Aminu Goronyo, disclosed this on Wednesday night at a gala organised by beneficiaries of the government’s Anchor Borrowers Programme held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

He said, “With a membership of about 12.2 million and with each member donating N100 to the campaign, we were able to raise the N1.2bn.”

The Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, said Nigeria was on the path of taking on the world in terms of rice production, noting that the President had shown unprecedented commitment to agriculture development in Nigeria.

The governor, who is the Vice Chairman of the National Food Security Council, said N174bn had been disbursed as credit to small-holder farmers under the Anchors Borrowers Programme.

This, he said, had provided more food, and therefore ensuring Nigeria’s food security.

The Director, Strategic Communications of the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN), said the N1.2bn donation by the groups to the President’s re-election campaign did not violate the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), stating that no one shall donate more than N1m to any candidate.

Keyamo, in an interview with The PUNCH, said whoever doubted the legality of the donation should take their complaints to the groups.

He said, “Do you know the individual donations those people made within the association? The first thing I will ask you to do is find out how many people are in the farmers’ associations. Break it down per person and see how much that will be. That will answer your question.

“It is a collection of people that make up an association. The association would answer you and tell you how many people contributed one by one. They may have presented it in the name of the association but the individuals definitely contributed to make up that money.

“So, if you go and ask them, they will be very clear to you as to how much each individual contributed. But for the opposition to sit down and just conjure up assumptions without knowing the details smacks of mischief on their part.
