This is where I d say the coach was stupid. He should have played someone else instead of Mikel. Of all the players on the pitch that day, Mikel was the least motivated to continue playing in the world cup in Russia. Even if we had advanced, he would have flown back to Naija to sort out things. While I dont blame him, he played most of his passes backwards. He could not motivate the team to hangon till the end. And to the people that kidnapped his dad, all doors to their success in life will be shut! unless they repent. |

FUNNYBONE1:Nigerians, quick to blame leaders. Blacks are specialists at passing blame. I have never seen any Nigerian accept responsibility for any wrongdoing. Even those caught in the very act of adultery will blame the devil. That is how our president started blaming Gaddafi and Libya for herdsmen attacks the other day !!! |

If we read deeper, there is a lot of sense in what Nathaniel is saying. He said wife, NOT SLAY QUEENS. Please remember not all women are wife material. For ones that are good enough to be upgraded to wife, yes. But for the olosho/hookers and wife wanna-bees. Mba!!!! ![]() |
I know there are people who set targets to graduate with a particular class of degree but don't exactly understand the maths involved in achieving this. Below are the technical points on how to graduate with a first class. In your very first week of gaining admission. Grab a copy of your departmental brochure and calculate the total number of credits to be completed before graduation e.g. Year 1 (20 + 19), Year 2 (17 + 18), Year 3 (18 + 18), Year 4 (16 + 17), Year 5 (18 + 17). Total = 20 + 19 + 17 + 18 + 18 + 18 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 17 = 178 If your school uses a 5.0 grade system, to graduate with a first class your GPA needs to be in the range 4.5 - 5.0. Therefore, you need to have accumulated points within the range 801(4.5 * 178) - 890 (5.0 * 178) at the end of your final year. For other credit systems simply replace the 5.0 with whatever your school uses. Another way to look at the step above is that, for you to make a first class, you should not lose more than points in the range 0 - 89, at the end of your final year. How do you translate this to the grades that you need to score every semester/year. If in your first year, first semester (total credit 20) above, if your classes are: U(4 units), V(5 units), W(5 units), X(3 units), Y(3units). If you score a C in all the classes, it means you lost 2 points {(A)5 - (C)3} per credit. Which translates to 40 (2 * 20) for the total number of credits taken that semester. Now out of the total credits not to lose calculated above (i.e. 89) you have 49 left (i.e 89 - 40). In your first year second semester, if you score an average of C again, then you will lose 38 points. Meaning that you have 11 points left that you must not lose to graduate with a first class. Mostly what this means is that on average you will have to ace all your high credit hour classes (4 units and above) for the rest of your time in the program and are only allowed room to for occasional Bs in about three, 3-unit classes and one 2-unit class, till you graduate. To summarize, Do all you can in every semester to ensure that you don't lose more than 7points per semester. At the end of your final year this will translate to 70 points which is less than 89 which will in turn put you in the first class range. Whenever you find that you have lost more than the bench marked points per semester, double up in the next semesters to make up for the lost points until the average lost points over the number of semesters you have taken becomes 7. e.g if you lose 10points in your first year, first semester, ensure that in your next semester you lose only 4points so that the average becomes 7 (i.e [10 + 4] / 2). If you lose 6 points then in the semester that follows ensure that you lose only 5, so that the average over the 3 semesters becomes (10 + 6 + 5) / 3 which is 7. Once you have all the maths figured out, map out a strategy to achieve the set goals. The truth about doing well in exams is that you can't give what you don't have, meaning that you can provide answers to questions if you have the knowledge of how to answer those questions. How can you acquire the needed knowledge, studying and trusting in God. How you study is up to you, be your self, do whatever is convenient for you. Don't copy others. The fact that your friends are always going to library/class to study at night does not mean that you must copy and follow them. If you study well during the day, study during day. Take enough rest when you can. Lastly always assume that you have not studied enough and you don't know enough to excel in the class. The more you make this assumption, the more motivated you will become to study Finally, Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 2 Timothy 2:15a - Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved. |
While I am not in support of Buhari's adminstration. Have we ever thought of the fact that fleeing Boko Haram members could be responsible for these killings (can you tell d difference btw a Boko Haram member and a Fulani herdsman?). Or perhaps some cabal who are desperate for power in 2019 might be responsible for this? (Our politician don't care about peoples' lives so long as the end justifies the means. Just saying... Note: I am not a Buhari's supporter neither do I support open grazing by Fulani herdsmen. |

Bloggers and lies are like bread and butter. Firstly, you said she does this every end of the year - pretty sure she distributes corporate christmas hampers. Some companies cannot afford to give employees a full bag of rice of rice so she simply buys and repackages into a small branded bags. Liok at the size of the new bags very carefully, you will notice they are smaller than the standard bag of rice. Secondly, there is no proof that the branded bags are stallion bags or labelled stallion bags. Finally, mind your business and get busy. I am sure if the woman had ulterior motives she would not be doing this in her backyard once every year end where busybodies like you can see. She will probably have rented more secluded locations to carry out her sinister motives |
My analysis. While they were in the business of kidnapping they consistently got help from high ranking police officers. The small boys police officers did not know about this, they went after them genuinely, arrested them, and their bosses organized an inside job the have the kidnappers eliminated to cover up a possible exposure. Nigeria is such a lawless Nation, I refuse to weep for her. |

It is funny how some of you come here and spew rubbish about increasing minimum pay. An increased minimum pay is not justfyable if some government employees will only show up at work once a week peeling melons or doing their personal runs and then smile to the bank at the end of the month to collect 56k. |
The funny thing is that, I know the DG's sons. I wonder how bad they will feel right now, considering the shame their dad has brought to the family. Omashe ooo. |
Apple products just work. I have had several apple devices and I can tell you hands down, they are the most reliable have I have ever owned. Still rocking my Iphone 6 plus, of 3years while I just purchased the new Iphone 8. The Iphone 6 is still in pristine condition and I heard that they sell for around 100k these days in Naija. That is a lot of residual value for a 3year old phone. How much is samsung galaxy S5 these days(a phone that released same year as my iphone 6). Do people still use that phone? For those comparing iphone to android, isn’t it crazy that you always have to buy a new android every 1.5years for you to continue receiving the latest updates? Now to your experience with the ipad air, have you tried to do a reset of the device? I had a similar issue with browsing https sites, a simple device reset fixed the problem. |
I saw ur post that hit frontpage today. I am guessing the lady in question is you. I d give advice once I am free later today. |
These are the worst killings that have happened in many years. I have never seen a sect/group so self centered as the northerners/fulanis. Why would they think they own all entitlements in Nigeria when they are the least educated and the least qualified. Why would they be screaming one nigeria and then systematically enslave the south as the engine room for their wealth. Note, there is no rich northerner that his/her source of wealth is not traceable to the sweat and hardwork of the south. It is not by force to live together as a country if the North can commit these genocides without any arrests or prosecutions and their president can come out and tell us we should not carry out reprisal attacks on them. This is sad and Nigeria is doomed! Everyone needs to wake up if there is to be a Nigeria left for the future generations. |
These herdsmen nor get head at all. When dem baba nor dey country we nor hear all this kind rubbish, now their liver don rise as dem baba don come back. It is well |
Op, I my situation is almost similar to yours some 9years ago. I graduated from one of the best universities in the country with a BSc in engineering. In fact shortly before I graduated, I told my self I wasn't going to work for any company that is not into oil and gas. LOL. |
The funny thing is that government spending (of about 4 Billion Naira) on the purchase of "official super" SUVs for some group of idiots calling themselves senators, is competing with annual profit of some banks. SMH ![]() We live in a country where our leaders have no dignity and shame.! What the heck is wrong with Nigeria? |

And then, the wait started, and I started downgrading and lowering my standards
, till eventually I finally got a job (after almost 2years), that if I was offered as at my graduation, I'd have turned down arrogantly. But while I was working with the company, I knew I ought not be there working for that organization, I knew my goal was to get paid big time doing what I loved. So, I saved money, wrote GRE and TOEFL; and enrolled for a graduate program in the US (with full tuition). Today, the rest they say is history.
