The US is not as sweet as people think but nonetheless, it is way better than the UK. Talking from first-hand experience, there is no limit to what you can become in the US when you are willing to work hard. However from my experience, most guys that come here (US) single - no introduction, no marriage, nothing, usually end up marrying Nigerians or Akatas living in the US because of papers. Be it as it may, if you really love your girl, then you guys should do your introduction before you leave for your graduate degree. Without that, you can kiss your relationship "goodbye" cos there are lots of "fine babes" that will make you forget your girlfriend in weeks. Note: I'd strongly advise that you give the partial scholarship some serious thoughts. It might be that one opportunity you've been waiting for all your life. |
2sexy: All the money ever invested on them gone. I wonder why people just think that life is always about enjoyment... I keep saying this, money has a bad spirit.Dude!! FYI, Lead City is a private university in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Nonetheless, may their souls rest in peace. |
I think it is a fungal infection, known as tinea cruris (or Ringworm). First it comes as a result of heat and dirt so u might need to take ur bath atleast twice a day. Then apply cream every time you take your bath. Someone suggested funbact A, but I'd recommend Damatol cream (Yes the same Damatol that you use for hair) it works like magic. Finally, any opportunity that comes ur way to loosen up for aeration around your balls please try to make the best of it (especially at night). It prevents the infection from spreading. Did I forget to say this: Use a different (clean) underwear per day till symptoms disappear. Any other improvements in personal hygiene would help too. -Talking from experience ![]() Cheers |

joanana: If you want to buy a branded fone such Samsung galaxy at&t; i will advive u don't buy it cos u will end up regretting.... right now i amYeah, I think the problem is that AT&T 3G works on a different frequency than T-mobile's 3G. T-mobile uses the standard international frequency. AT&T (mainly american) uses a frequency that is not the International standard. One might argue that it is because AT&T don't want people buying their phones, unlocking it and using it for another carrier. Another argument could be that AT&T as an American company just wants to be different. However, phones from AT&T and any other carrier (T-mobile inclusive) all use the same frequency for EGDE and below, therefore if u use an AT&T phone with any other carrier's network, the best u can get is EGDE, the converse is also true. As a warning, if u plan using your phone in Nigeria, don't buy AT&T branded phone. Cheers |
Like a lot of people have advised, don't stretch your budget. However, there is nothing wrong in planning for future computing requirements. A netbook might be ok for your programming work now but what about your computing needs? will it also suffice? Sometimes you will need to write programs that require running and accessing a database, in that case would you be buying another pc to run your database when you'd be better off running that on your machine (atleast for the duration of the development). I'd advise you go for something higher, definitely not a gaming laptop as they are always very expensive, u actually pay for some computing resources (e.g huge Video memory, separate GPU etc) which you don't need. But go for something a little modest, a core i3 with 4G RAM (2G) and 250G HDD would do the magic. By all means avoid anything less than this specs. |
American Crystal Cox, who won 4x400m relay gold at the Athens Olympics, has been stripped of her medal. The IOC also confirmed Nigeria were awarded the gold medal at the 4x400m men's relay race from the Sydney 2000 Olympics after it closed the case on doping offender Antonio Pettigrew of the US. Cox, the Athens relay alternate, was banned for four years in 2010 for using performance-enhancing drugs. The US Anti-Doping Agency had said Cox had used prohibited anabolic agents between 2001 and 2004. The IOC's Executive Board, however, did not make any decision on the other relay runners in the team, saying it was up to the International Association of Athletics Federations to decide if all the runners on the US team would be stripped of their medals. Russia were second in that race and Jamaica won bronze. Britain finished fourth. Should the IAAF decide, as it has done in similar cases, to strip the medals from all team athletes, these countries will be moved up to gold, silver and bronze. The other members of the US 4x400 team from 2004 were Monique Henderson, Monique Hennagan, Sanya Richards and Deedee Trotter. Pettigrew, who committed suicide in 2010, had been disqualified in 2008 from the 4x400m race in Sydney where the United States won gold with a team that which included Michael Johnson and the 400m race where he finished seventh. Pettigrew had admitted to doping. The IOC had delayed reallocating the medals, awaiting any new information from an ongoing investigation into an American doping scandal. It said given that no new information was provided it proceeded with awarding Nigeria the gold medal. Jamaica were moved up to silver and the Bahamas awarded the bronze medal. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/cox-stripped-relay-medal-141300559.html#_= |

Blackteeth: I use both Android and Symbian therefore am in position to post in this thread. For Android, the data and battery consumption issues are true to an extent but the real problem is that people that use android just go to the android market, install applications that are always connecting to the Internet for updates. Sometimes you'd have a situation where some people would have more than 2 weather monitoring applications installed on their android phones, with all these always connected for updates. If add up other scenarios where u have more than one application for the same purpose, u'd simply zap off your data bundle in no time. Same thing goes for battery, people tend to always have too many applications opened at the same time and left running even when they are not in use. Also u don't have to use 3G unless u really need it, u can change ur network settings to always use Edge. I currently use this strategy and it works fine for me. I've never used more than 500MB of data in a month no matter how many applications I have opened and requesting updates. |

For the initiator of this thread, the question of who created God is just one of the mysteries that humans shouldn't bother delving into as they are transcedental And now the transcript of a conversation between one of the greatest men (Albert Eistein) that ever walked on the surface of the earth, and his professor, Enjoy ![]() An atheist professor of Philosophy was speaking to his class on the problem Science has with GOD. He asked one of his new Christian Students to stand and . . . Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ? Student : Yes, sir. Professor: So, you believe in GOD ? Student : Absolutely, sir. Professor : Is GOD good ? Student : Sure. professor: Is GOD all powerful ? Student : Yes. Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm? (Student was silent.) Professor: You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD good? Student : Yes. Professor: Is satan good ? Student : No. Professor: Where does satan come from ? Student : From . . . GOD . . . Professor: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world? Student : Yes. Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct? Student : Yes. Professor: So who created evil ? (Student did not answer.) Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they? Student : Yes, sir. Professor: So, who created them ? (Student had no answer.) Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD? Student : No, sir. Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD? Student : No , sir. Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter? Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't. Professor: Yet you still believe in Him? Student : Yes. Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son? Student : Nothing. I only have my faith. Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has. Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat? Professor: Yes. Student : And is there such a thing as cold? Professor: Yes. Student : No, sir. There isn't. (The lecture theatre became very quiet with this turn of events.) Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it. (There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.) Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness? Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness? Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you? Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ? Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed. Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how? Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey? Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do. Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir? (The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.) Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class was in uproar.) Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain? (The class broke out into laughter. ) Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir? (The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.) Professor: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son. Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving. |
Ozin:Whoever says or thinks facebook can be brought down, let that person wait, watch and see. Hacking has gone beyond what we see or hear in the news. Like the police officer said, they've already defeated the security system and they know they can go in again without being detected. Secondly these guys don't have an office or a specific address, they are scattered all over the world so no matter how distributed you think facebook's infrastructure is, all that is required to defeat their system is to delegates bits of the system to guys in different regions. I have no doubt the system can be compromised. |

Please people stop this devilish talk against Church Universities. The school fees for these schools are less than $3000 yet, they provide facilities that are world-class. U can imagine how much you'd pay for education in the US or UK. Secondly does anyone of you know how much it costs to fund a University? considering the fact that what you'd get from some of these private schools are far better than what you get in the so called federal institutions that are a product of years of investments. Federal and state schools all get support from the federal government in excess of 300million Naira monthly, yet the facilities are decaying by the day as opposed to private schools that have no other source of funding yet, their facilities are being maintained to best possible condition. I was at Covenant University yesterday and I was stunned by what I saw. I can't still believe that they've got more halls of resident than OAU that has been in existence for years, how do you people think these facilities are going to be maintained? How do you think they pay salaries of lecturers and non teaching staff? How do you think they provide electricity for the whole institution? How do you think they get funding for research and stuffs like that. There are lots of other things that can be added to the list but by now think some of us might have got the gist. Only the federal govt can run schools at ridiculously cheap prices not even state govt can attempt this. The Lagos state govt just increased LASU fees from 25k to 250k. If 25k was very convenient for them why did they take it to 250k (over 900% increment) |
Orikinla:Brother, U just spoke my mind. I don't see where it is written in the Bible that Pastors of Churches cannot be rich, or should not be wealthy. Infact if there is one thing that the bible loathes so much, it is poverty. People think they can just post anything anywhere and anyhow without digging properly for facts. The originator and the supporters of this TOPIC should visit this site: http://domi.org.ng/worship. Listen to the messages, and tell the house where emphases are being laid on prosperity and prosperity alone. Please be careful of how to wrongly accuse Men of God lest you incur the wrath of God upon yourself and start looking for someone in your village to blame for your mis-fortunes when real problem is you!!!. |
Omo_Tier1:My brother b4 you go count reach 7000MW, you go first pass 4000MW which is where we are at the moment. I mean cudos to this Nnaji guy. For the past for weeks, I have seen major improvements in power supply in my area in Lagos. I don't really know if this can be attributed to the rains increasing the water level at our dams, but whichever way the supply is being generated, it output is quite commendable. The next level now, is for people like you and I to pay our monthly PHCN bills on time. God Bless Nigeria |
Ournaija: Gbam he don finish |
Our main problem has never been attaining 4000MW. Our main problem is how to sustain it. What I have observed in times past is that government buys all these turbines, alternators etc, attain the targeted MW of electricity for a day or several days, then the equipment begin to breakdown one after the other and then we are back to where we started. To me, sustainability should be the main goal. That would determine if we should do 4000MW for several days or weeks, then go back to where we started, or we should do 1500MW/2000MW and be able to sustain it for as many years, until we are ready to improve on that capacity. |

The Internet is a network of networks and most of these networks exist in Europe, America, Asia etc). So when you are in these locations, all you just need to do is plug into the already existing network. But here in Africa we need to find a means of connecting to Europe and the likes where the rich network of networks exists i.e the Internet. Achieving this is unusually every expensive (Satellite, Underwater fibre optic cables etc), hence the high cost on the consumer side of things. With more underwater cables being laid here and there from Africa to Europe, the cost will gradually lower but bet, it can't be as cheap as Europe/America cos they own the Internet. |
