Lagos has been hosting the ITTF LAGOS OPEN ranking tournament since 2015.

This is table tennis played at one of the highest levels.

Most southern African countries aren't all that at All.
A quick look at their cities show most are just deserts.
And also they enjoy the luxury of a VERY LOW population so there's less stress to physical infrastructure.
