Family / Re: #beingfemaleinnigeria Trending On Twitter. How True Are These Tweets? by Begonia(m): 12:31pm On Jul 01, 2015
tmosco:
No one has mentioned a good thing about Beingafemaleinnigeri, it shows hypocrisy. I know some are true but it all about privileged. So since being is women is awful automatically being a man in Nigeria must be great that why girls will flock and want to marry me in with my 1 bedro oom apartment.

Why don't you start.
I'd like to know the benefits of being female in Nigeria.

Romance / Re: See What A Lady Posted Online About Broke Guys Toasting Her & The Reply She Got by Begonia(m): 11:07pm On Jun 30, 2015
There's a saying, I think in pidgin, about the way a goat stands in the market will determine it's price.
I can't really remember it but I think it can be applied here.
Saying broke guys shouldn't toast you on social media is pointless.
The way you present yourself in the real world (offline) would determine that.
Most times, you're what you attract.
There's a reason why the rich will keep marrying the rich and the poor will keep marrying the poor.
You can't buy class.

Politics / Re: FG Stops Paying The School Fees Of N’delta Students In Foreign Universities by Begonia(m): 10:41pm On Jun 30, 2015
bushdoc9919:
The problem is Nigeria's economy....and by extension, the economy of most states.

Most oil producing countries are broke right now. And oil prices won't be rising any time soon.

Nigeria needs to industrialize....so that we can have more money than what we would earn from oil....even at $130 per barrel....and then we can sponsor students galore.

But FG is still waiting for oil to save the day.
The greedy "leaders" are still sharing the little left.
Proper control measures haven't been taken to prevent wastage of resouces.
They haven't taken stringent actions against illegal extraction of natural resources within Nigerian territories either.

It's shameful and annoying.

Family / Re: I'm Beginning To Hate My Mom by Begonia(m): 1:19am On Jun 16, 2015
There's something wrong. When people lose/ are losing (or probably never had) control over most things in their lives, they try to grasp and hold on to anything they can seemingly control. The one thing many parents feel they can control is their children's lives. There comes a time when they can't and shouldn't do this anymore. Some find it so difficult to let go and still want to prove they're "in charge". It gets worse as you grow older. I think this is called "helicopter parenting" where emotional blackmail is frequently used to control the child. This is exactly what your mum is doing.

You're going to have to talk to your mum. When she's in a good mood, tell her how she's making you feel towards her. Ask her what exactly it is she wants from you and let her know you won't let her down (if it's reasonable of course). No matter how the conversation goes, you're going to have to let go of any grudge you're holding against your mother. You'll be doing this, not for her but for your emotional and mental well being.
