Romance / Re: Be Sincere!! What Would You Do In This Situation (pictures ) by Begonia(m): 8:44pm On Jul 12, 2016
That's disgusting!
A woman who does that has no respect for her son or anything he represents. This includes his family. Respect is reciprocal. Such a woman doesn't deserve the respect of any reasonable daughter-in-law. Also, a man who allows his mother come into his home to lord over and disrespect what he represents is just a weak-minded fool, nothing but a useless mama's puppet and most certainly deserves no respect from his wife.
God forbid I marry a useless man!
It's not even possible.
Religion / Re: I'm Losing My Girlfriend Because Of My Disbelief... Am I Wrong? by Begonia(m): 9:59pm On Jul 07, 2016
To be honest, I kind of believe this isn't about your girlfriend. It's just another thread opened by a so called atheist to purport the usual "theists are dumb, we are smart".. Lol!

By the way, there are no atheists in Nigeria ..okay maybe few but the majority are just misotheists. This misotheism is a result of the hardship brought about by the failure of the government and inability to stand up for yourselves. This is also the main cause of religious fanaticism in Nigeria and most countries plagued by incompetent leaders.

I've met quite a number of atheists and in fact had one as a housemate in my first year in uni, eventually became good friends. He's Irish, very self-possessed. He didn't spend his time trying so hard to convince everyone of "the foolishness of the religious."
Most atheists that I know are cool and comfortable with themselves and everyone around them. This is different from the typical Nigerian "atheist" who seems to be drenched in some form of past bitterness and bile.

Personally, I think everyone's belief.. or lack of it should be respected. If it's not harming anyone, why should it be a bother? Irrespective of religious beliefs, we all have brains. We all have hearts. Most of us have common sense. These are very important for peaceful and respectful coexistence.

Now, I don't feel the need to comment on the main topic (pseudo grin) because the solution is staring the op in the face.

PS. I'm a christian and very thankful smiley

"It is a share jealous"
Are you sure he's a teacher?

This sort of thing isn't new. Molestation is very common in single-sex schools. The junior students are usually the targets because these teachers can't try certain things with the senior students. Besides, we all know denial is the most common defense mechanism until evidence is brought to the table. I believe a lot in the "there's no smoke without fire" saying but if he's truly innocent, then it's a cruel thing that's being done to him.

Family / Re: Is Hitting A Child Really Necessary In Correcting That Child???? by Begonia(m): 8:58pm On Mar 18, 2016
I was going to type something long on this topic but that won't be necessary as some users have already done it justice. Most parents hit their kids, not to displine them but rather to vent their anger. That is abuse.

I'll just like to add that teachers are not left out in this type of abuse. After having some home squabble with their verbally or physically abusive spouse, they go to their place of work (school) to abuse their students under the guise of discipline. It's even more dampening that some parents encourage this so called discipline by these frustrated teachers. The earlier people start to draw the line between discipline and abuse, the better for our kids and the society at large.

This is so silly.
I can't believe people can be this senseless. A man lost his life, left 3 kids behind but justice shouldn't be served because the culprit is a celebrity? Only a mentally disturbed person will feel sorry for an offender but not the victim and the bereaved.

Can't believe this.
This is a man I've admired since I read 'Gifted Hands' at 8 years.
It's disappointing.

I'm surprised to see comments in support of Trump on a Nigerian forum. I think that's even more disappointing.

Don't bother, dear. You're too polite already.

I love threads like this because most Nigerian guys ALWAYS end up proving the post right in the daftest of ways grin
On the downside, it gives credence to the racist "research" that the Nigerian IQ is below averagesad.

Ok. Men should go ahead breaking ladies head that smooch their breast against them provocatively?

I don't support unreasonable touch but having the intent to kill for a mere touch is what I don't get. There's ways the lady could've gotten redress
Mere touch, you say?
Was the slap also a mere slap?
You seem so fixated on calling out the woman's "animalistic tendencies" but you seem not to realize that lack of self control is actually beneath many animals.
He sexually assaulted her. He physically assaulted her. I bet there was also a mix of verbal abuse in there.
If it was a society where justice was meted out irrespective of social class, so many lowly acts like the one in the op might not be so prevalent. At least, not without fear of legal repercussion. The woman would probably not feel the need to resort to violence in order to defend herself. Why? Because she knows the law will speak for her. Based on the society she lives in, she did the only thing she could. It's sad but it's reality.

Where there is justice, there is order.

Lmao!@ not Jumoke.
But you know it's one thing to have multiple births(quadruplets, quintuplets etc), it's another to keep having many consecutively without planning.
Having kids without the means to care for them will eventually lead to child labour.. all because man must survive. It's sad.
Life is just not fair.

Funny enough, this kinda 'rare gift from God' rarely comes to wealthy people. It more often than not, falls on the poor. I wonder what God thinks about this. Ever thought about that before?
Oh yes, I've often wondered why this happens. I hardly hear of the rich having multiple births but it's very common among those who lack the means to take care of them. I guess that's when 1Cor. 10:13 comes to mind.
Hmm!
It is well!

Not trying to be a killjoy but seven kids? In the current economic crisis? I really hope they have what it takes because every child deserves a certain level of parental care... in more ways than one.

@thread
Although I spent a considerable amount of years in Nigeria, most of my formative years were spent outside her shores so some of my opinions are based on what I've read and recently experienced. Growing up, my parents taught me about my ethnic group and pride in my culture but they never talked about any tribe, nationality or race. I grew up seeing people as people and I thank them for that. This is probably why I might have jumped on the bandwagon screaming "inter-tribal marriage(in Nigeria) is awesome." That would've been before I came across various Nigerian sites and had certain real life experiences. Nigeria is not what I thought it was so I can't "scream" anymore. Also, I cannot tell you inter-tribal marriage is calamitous because as this thread has shown, there are people out there who are in it and seem to be having the best marriage they could have hoped for.

Inter-tribal or intra-tribal. It's a choice and nobody should be condemned for the one they make. After all, we all deserve a chance at happiness.
Be that as it may, we shouldn't forget that in all things, wisdom must be applied.

I must say, I find it a little bit disturbing that even users well known for tribalism(subtle or not) are on this thread, supporting inter-tribal marriage. Many Nigerians are very ethnic conscious, most times, not in a good way. So, even when they claim to support inter-tribal marriage, you should know that it's still limited to certain ethnic groups.

If no one's going to tell you, I will. This comment of yours is one of the dumbest I've come across. When did sexual assault become something to laugh about? Isn't it bad enough that rape victims in the society are blamed and shamed instead of the rapist? Why encourage sexual assault by making light of such an issue? Your comment is disgusting.

I'm aware there were other presidential candidates. I'm also aware there are about 24 other political parties in Nigeria apart from APC and PDP. My point is that Nigerians didn't give them the necessary attention. They let the media reduce their options to just two out of 11 candidates. I believe we're now reaping the fruit.

I can give you a kiss for the bolded kiss kiss. Why Nigerians choose the 2 worse options out of the many options we had is just beyond me.
During the election period last year, a thread was put up. It was one with detailed biography of each presidential candidate and the parties they were contesting under. The thread was filled with derogratory comments about less known candidates and silly praise for the party/candidate they support. They just stuck with the two the media dictated to them and probably didn't even bother to read up on the other candidates. This is why it makes me angry when I hear things like "Nigeria was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea." We were not. We had options. People just chose to pick one out of the two worst candidates.

And what's the government doing about it?
"Nigerians will starve by 2050"..
Yet they're using millions of dollars to explore the chad basin in search of oil that is becoming worthless.
Yet they're budgeting a lot more for ministry of information than that of agriculture.
Why don't they criminalize polygamy or educate people on the importance of family planning?
What are they doing there if they can't find solutions to the country's problems. Bunch of unintelligent failures.
Nigeria had options in the last election but as usual it was reduced to just two. Probably one of the reasons why we keep jumping from one incompetent leader to the other.
