Acquiredollars: The skills assessment does not automatically grant her right to work as a teacher. Even if she has a positive assessment, she is still not eligible to teach. For her to teach, she needs to be registered with the registration council in states/territories. The skills assessment only gives the opportunity for skilled migration. Google teacher registration for overseas qualification in any of the states for requirements. |

mojolajesu: You can assess as a civil engineer without claiming experience points. You can use your thesis and internship to write the CDR. For ACS, since you don't have qualification in ICT, ACS will require some years in lieu of experience. |

Dking29: Applicants and dependents who don't pass the medical examination are usually denied visa because according to them, they will constitute significant cost to tax payers. However, I don't think the medical examination conducted will identify if a child has autism or your wife has arthritis. Autism may be considered a significant cost to the economy but it is not what the test will identify except you tell the panel doctors that you suspect he has autism. The medical examination check significant visible disability, organ issues etc. The X-ray included is for the chest check for TB and other diseases, it doesn't target the joint to identify if there is a presence of rheumatoid arthritis. 3 Likes |

Temmybuky: Your immediate worry should be getting a positive assessment from ACS before thinking of claiming work experience. ACS is known to reduce work experience depending on your qualification and how long you have been in the occupation. Meanwhile, if you get a positive assessment from ACS with your years of service approved, you can claim the Australian work experience points 1 Like |

Olubukolaalice: In addition to this, ensure that you submit your application as soon and as early from when you send the transcript. This is to enable them to match your transcript to the application. If they get your transcript without the application, it is difficult to know whose transcript it is. They can only view your application details when it is submitted 1 Like |

Prettiepearlz: Visa 186 is an employer sponsored permanent resident. The OP asking if Tasmania is a good city to reside indicates a plan to not reside in Tasmania if not recommended as the best place to live. I supposed that the question to ask should be about Tasmania and the city where the sponsored organisation is located. |

For fairness and equity, you should work with the company that nominated you for at least two years before thinking about looking for another state. The organisation offered to nominate you with the hope that you will work for them. While the 186 doesn't restrict you to the employer, it is only fair if you stay with the employer for two years as a thank you. To answer your questions: 1) Is tasmania a good place to live? Depends on your definition of good place, Tasmania is a nice place. If the organisation is located in Hobart, it is a nice harbour town but becoming very expensive. Relatively very safe too and not too crazy winter. (2)what's the cost of living over there? The cost of living in Tassie is increasing like the other states. Average cost of rent for a 3 bedroom per week is between $380 - $400. You can check www.realestate.com.au for advertised rents. Groceries prices are increasing by the day with the capitalist hiding under rising inflation to jack up prices of food. For an average family of 3 expect to spend between $500-900 monthly on groceries if purchasing in organised departmental stores. (3)Are schools free for children ? Public schools will be free for your kids. However each state has a sort of levy parents pay to support the school. Something about $500/year or less depending on the school. (4)Hope non medical Jobs are easy to come by (for my husband) ? Tasmania is a civil service state. Non-medical jobs are not easy to come by but he will eventually get something for sure. However, he could be lucky and get something good immediately. There is a sizable Nigerian community in Tasmania you can be connected with to assist you in settling down. All the best. |

Voice234: Since you will still have same points without the NYSC experience, there is nothing to worry about. There would have been a problem if your points will reduce without it. For the benefit of those reading, any experience you are sure you cannot get evidence for, tick not relevant in the appropriate box to it rather than create issue that shouldn't arise. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia-Ukraine War: Mercedes-benz To Leave Russia, Sells $2b Plant by bellong: 10:55pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
VirileNelly2420: Western sanctions imposed on Russia since the beginning of the Ukraine offensive have heavily disrupted supply chains affecting mostly technology and car manufacturing sectors. The truth is with all the sanctions, no technological driven company can survive as some vital parts are sourced from Western Europe, Japan and the USA. It is no given that all the manufacturers are leaving. I don't think it their leaving is about the war but incapability of manufacturing to meet minimum standard due to availability of parts. 2 Likes |

EngrKemp: The first step is to read the thread from the start. Then check the occupation list to look for an occupation that fits or closely align with your experience. Once you identify an occupation, visit the assessing authority's website to read requirements for assessment. Then you are good to go. If you read and follow the instructions on the thread, you will likely not have any difficulties following through. 1 Like |

meetme01: You cannot apply for an occupation you have not been assessed for. If you assessed for a welfare/community worker, then your EOI must be in that occupation. Meanwhile, the occupation you get visa with does not limit the kind of jobs you can do when you are in the country. You can work as a social worker if you can sell yourself. In the meantime, I will advice that you to consider your options properly and assess for occupation that will get you ITA faster. 3 Likes |
