Louis09: You can assess for human resource manager. Your husband is working as an educational consultant which is quite different from educational psychologist except he has had prior experience as an educational psychologist in the last 10 years. He will not get a positive assessment for educational psychology. |

shams040: For a start, I will say ask God for direction. It is what I do when faced with problem of choice. Now to human understanding, I will pick Australia over the other two as GIS has a pathway to permanent residence particularly study of identifying solutions to wildfire problem. While Canada also has a good pathway to PR, Australia has other advantages like better weather, better pay, ease of settling compared to Canada and others. The advantage Canada may have over Australia from my position may be the closeness to the USA for those who have relatives in the USA. Reason I asked the source of the scholarship is because if it is government sponsored, all the three countries expect you to return to Nigeria post study for at least one year. Seeing you have no such clog in the wheel, Australia is a good choice. If you have experience in GIS, you can start your PR processing even before you start or complete your study. Congratulations and all the best in your decision making. May heaven lead you. Which state is the university in Australia? 3 Likes |

@shams040, Just to clarify what you wrote, did you say you have full scholarship from US, Canada and Australian schools for PhD? Is it scholarship from the schools or from government? What is your field of study? |

Goodies1: To get any experience point, you must have at least 3 years for 5 point. So the one year is not relevant. You don't need proof of fund for any of the visa class. Although some states may ask you to declare funds available to you but will not necessarily ask for evidence except Northern Territory. |

bemagnify: I did try to explain why in previous post. While we both practice the common law system, there are differences in country specific law. The courses you will be asked to do will take you two academic sessions to complete. This is not to discourage you but to prepare you for what is ahead. Goodluck. |

bemagnify: 1. Yes, Barristers and Solicitors are in demand everywhere including Australia. Until you complete an assessment and English test, you can't award yourself points. 2. Depending on how easy you are able to provide documentations required. However, you cannot get a positive assessment straight. You need to be called to the bar in Australia prior to having a positive assessment. The law profession is not like science that is universal. You will likely be subject to take some Australian law courses before a positive assessment. This may take you 2 years to complete. 3. What do you want to know? |

Xkoba: Three options: Pay through your local bank in Nigeria raising form 20 or whatever it is called. Buy dollar equivalent from BDC or abokis and deposit in your dorm account, then do wire transfer. Lastly, find someone who can help you pay in Australia while you pay Naira equivalent. |

manigold: Medical board is responsible for oversight and regularisation of medical practice while AHPRA is responsible for national registration and accreditation of all health practitioners. So to get a positive assessment from the medical board, you must first be registered as a health practitioner in Australia which AHPRA does. This information is available on medical board website. |

PureMe01: You requested for an unbiased explanation but your response doesn't show you were actually looking for an explanation but validation. I will help you with the explanation based on what their constitution stipulates and not what Trump or Biden's supporters think. On January 6, 2021, the electoral college votes will be read in a joint session of congress presided by the president of the Senate in VP Mike Pence. VP Pence will open the certificates as a ceremonial act being president of the senate. However, four tellers (2 House of Rep member and 2 senators) will read and tally the votes. Pence has no constitutional power to change or interfere in this process. Once the four tellers complete the tally, VP Pence will declare the winner. Session cannot end until a winner is declared. Pence cannot announce different result. Nevertheless, a member of either chamber of congress could object. There can be up to two hours of debate on the matter, with members speaking for up to five minutes each. So there's likely to be some political theater. But the objection would need to pass both chambers of Congress with a simple majority to be sustained, and given that the Democrats firmly control the House, that's not going to happen. A lot of Republican Senators and Reps have been throwing support and offering congratulatory messages to president-elect Biden. The chance of them objecting is very low. Most of them would also not want to be seen as undermining the constitution. What that person wrote is plain ignorance. VP Pence has no constitutional power to change things for Trump in this matter after the electoral college victory. 11 Likes 1 Share |

DJMJ: I am not sure about the part that CDR is hard but I supposed anyone that earned the degree will be able to write enough for a positive assessment. You are right with going for the occupation that is not crowded but you also have to consider prospects for state nomination. In your case, look into other civil engineering related roles with better prospect for nomination. The draftsperson is limited and you may be on the queue for a long time. 1 Like |
