It is not contracted by sexual intercourse alone. It doesn't always mean your partner was cheating on you. Guys can get it at a barbers salon. Babes can get it at the nail salon. Anyone of you could have gotten it at a lab where you went for tests that involved blood work for malaria, typhoid, and all the other things not stated in your post.

She is a girlfriend, not a wife, as you are a boyfriend, not a husband yet. Either you decide to stand by her and forge on with the relationship or you respectfully and maturely leave the relationship.
