You will call it a lame excuse because of yr sense of reasoning the fact that CBT has been in existence for hundred years does not make it the best form for testing of students knowledge 6 years spent in secondary education with one week of mock exam to familiarize themselves with CBT possibly the first time in their entire 6 years is completely unacceptable

Bro these youngings make videos and post on tiktok, make perfect edits with their 16/17yr old boyfriends and girlfriends but CBT exam that can be figured out within 10mins is were you draw the line. Anyone who's not versed enough to take CBT in 2024 should forget about tertiary education.

Sometimes those exams are just very unnecessarily hard

I beg to disagree. You'll pass if you read using JAMB syllabus. My first JAMB was CBT and my strategy was give myself a target of atleast 50/100 for each subject and a total of 200/400. Meanwhile I expect 200/400 to be poor and guess what I scored 200 but couldn't secure admission with it, the following year I scored 232 and was admitted.

Blame the useless and clueless government a student that has not used a computer system all is life to study is expected to use same computer to write an exam why won't they fail ask some of this students those questions they failed orally and they will give you the answer we should stop all this useless copy cat system certain things should be optional not compulsory

I can't but say this is a lame excuse. JAMB has been CBT for atleast 10yrs now. Before your exam day, a mock exam is conducted especially to familiarise students with CBT but MOST students don't make take the mock exam.

There can be problems with server and all that but saying someone failed because of little or no knowledge of CBT in 2024 is unacceptable.
Business / Re: Multichoice Rejects French Firm, Canal Plus' $1.69bn Offer by ben1daEbiri(m): 3:27pm On Feb 06
I think Canal is offering on their projection to be able to make profit too. The thing is, I don't see DSTV turning around their fortune soon especially with the falling naira. They'll spend more of their revenue paying for football rights alone. They also have to pay for salary, operating cost, tax, egunje and the rest. It's not easy doing business in Nigeria, you'll pay through your nose. No wonder They now call people on the phone begging them to subscribe.

Your streaming is about football only. What about other programs? How many of your kind are present in Africa? If you know what business of broadcasting and tv station is you will know that the management of DSTV knows what they are worth.

Keep playing. With a data of 5k+ per month and 3900 for showmax I'm assured to watch Arsenal matches for an entire month. There are so many of us that stream matches on match days. Before hesgoal was closed down they drove loads of traffic on matchdays.

But since they have salary structure, how can they pay you less even if thatz what you asked for, aren't they supposed to stick to their structure.

Does it mean, if you have asked for an amount higher than the salary structure, would have accepted to pay it?

It's funny when companies do this. It's a very flawed logic. When you ask for more they'll say they can't afford to pay you that but when you ask for less they'ld be more than willing to pay you that despite have a payment structure.

OP, thanks for bringing this up. I am learning so much from this.

The last interview I attended in an Estate firm, I made sure I created a massive impression and I did. I even wrote three radio advertisement script for them instead of one requested.

They asked me about the payment, I said I believe such a firm have salary structure, I don't know my role yet but I should be paid according to the office I will work, the lady said supposing someone is paying 125k a month and another pay me 45k with 5 percent commission on every sale I do, which one will I take? I just stared at her.

Four days later, she texted me and later called me that I have the job, my salary is 70k and I will be on probation for two months and trained for that two months, if I improve, they will talk about salary increase or let me go.

My question is, for the experience ones in the house, is this offer a good one? She said I will get 5 percent on every sale I make. I haven't worked in Estate firm before though, so what's your advice?

Here's my advice:

If the role is for entry-level and you've had no prior experience then take it. Again staying idle at home can cause you depression. If you still have atleast 50% of your salary left after transportation then take it.

I got my first post NYSC job which is my current job through intentional networking.
I finished NYSC last year October 2022 but had the offer letter from a multi-national by September 2022.

Here is my story:

I was intentional about saving my NYSC allowance from October 2021. My background is petroleum engineering. Usually, there is this annual oil and gas conference that holds in Eko hotel, Lagos every August. I had long decided that I would attend the conference and leverage on networking to better my options. My savings paid for the conference registration, hotel accommodation close to Eko hotel, feeding, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. This weeklong conference gulped about 400k from me.
I saved up 300k from NYSC (Nov. 2021 - July 2022) and made up the difference from home lessons pay.

At the conference, I presented 2 technical papers and also networked with captains of industries.
My take-home were two job offers; some MDs were impressed that I came as NYSC guy and gave me cash gifts. Infact, I recouped about 160k before coming back from Lagos. I chose one that allowed working from home. I currently work from my base in PH.

Morale Lesson:

If you wash your hands well, you will dine with kings

Studied Petroleum Engineering too and currently serving, will be passing out by october/November. Can I reach your mobile or mail?

I mobilised as stream 2 in my school, but my name has been uploaded together with stream 1 on the nysc portal under "BATCH B 2023", arranged by alphabetical order.

Depending on the time you registered and your school quota but most likely you're going to be stream I.

How is it cheaper when you do not make a spare tire and your roads are horrible
This your take is really laughable. Roads and tires are now perishable goods? So you mean transporters change roads and tires every single time they goto the market?
These women literally fix prices for their products with reckless abandon so the transports in turn whose wives buy them in the market have to charge them but not at the ridiculous price the market women fix. This looks like the case of the chick and egg which came first but me going to the market several times has helped me crack it. This one is solely on the market women.

My 33k allowee has finished since 29th and I gotten even buy some things I bought the previous month prices keep increasing meanwhile the price of fuel has become somewhat stable.

It is inherently cheaper than our market women make us believe. Again they sell their products per unit price of transportation. Tell me what that is if it isn't daylight robbery.

As long as the price of fuel commodity used in the transport of goods and services increase it automatically means the cost of overheads of moving that product will increase .that cost is different from all other cost of security of the goods, maintenance, delays on the road, wages to the staffs involved and levies.
So it iclear that the more the price of fuel goes up inflation will follow

I wrote about this extensively on another thread. Our market women want insane profit margins for their products that isn't commensurate with the price of transportation. The problem is greed! If you know the cost price plus transportation of most of our daily commodities you'll engage in a brawl with even that your "customer" that you think is selling it cheaper. I won't say more than this regarding this issue.

Do you know
That can generate 800 billion in taxes yearly even

Who are the "Government"? Who do they give these loans to? How will they make profit to pay back with incessant policies being drafted by power-hungry power who once in while engage in d i c k-measuring contest? Food and and goods trucks are 90% diesel powered and subsidy has been removed from diesel long time again ... transportation is less than 2% of their spending

Petrol needs to be taxed and state of purchase getting 70%

I've mentioned in several threads regarding subsidy that the greatest enemy we have against subsidy removal are the market women. They increase price at will since no one is regulating it while the government hopes for competition to drive prices down. To circumvent this, the form unions and fix prices making competition almost impossible. Even if market women magically transport their products to the market, they'll still include the price of transport per unit of their product and this irks me the most.

On your second point about petrol being taxed is really ludicrous. The country will turn into the wild west if you do that without an alternative especially power. Any country that has successfully done this has stable power so correct me if I'm wrong. Our economy is too dependent on it unlike developed countries where there's constant power and so many people have adopted electric cars.

That won't be bad.
I have one also. Let a flat subsidy be applied. If he flat subsidy is N100 a litre it means N100 is subtracted from final landing cost and paid for by the govt as against allowing the subaidy value grow.

This was the bases by which subsidy was continually increasing. You don't pay half subsidy on any commodity as it can lead to inflation or increase in price of the subsidised product. The importer will simply increase the price by the unit which the government is subsidising it for. In all these the consumer bears the brunt.

I have a proposal. Let a test removal be done. With NNPC allegedly as the sole importer, that should be easy to do.

Your proposal is funny.
Nigerians especially people in power are highly ingenious in mischief and sabotage. They'll know it's just temporary and would wait out the entire window of the test only to needlessly cumulate the profit when subsidy is permanently removed.

My take is that they already did the test-run months ago when price rose to a price average of #500/ltr while it was termed a strike action my importers. They wanted to test our resolve to see if we would adapt as usual which we did, that's why they're bold enough to propose an increase of over #700/ltr. My problem with subsidy removal is that we're gonna leave free momey for an irresponsible leader to loot; both ways the average Nigerian is at loss.

My question remains, will the cabal benefiting from the subsidy allow it to thrive?
- Drilling and exporting our oil to Brazil, Poland, Netherlands etc at our cost. Set of cabals are in charge of this, making millions
- Buying the refined products (PMS only) The Refinery getting the other products like AGO and KPK for free. (Actually not free, another set of crooks selling it to the refinery)
- Paying for the haulage. Another set of individual overcharging for it, yet paying the haulage company peanuts.
- Paying NNPCL paying for storage tanks for it( Another set of crooks making money via over estimation.
-On the other side, crooked individuals (Private importers) importing small numbers, yet saying they are importing tons, but will still collect Tax waivers etc and also being paid a huge sums(subsidy) just to retail to common users.

All the above set of thieves won't allow dangote refineries to work.

Let me give you the sole reason why it's gonna work?

It is because it is privately owned! What the cabal can do is partner with him which do many of the already did with the help of FG because going alone would attract flies (EFCC) to them.

Dangote already spent a lot on this refinery so why would he allow them sabotage it? Again he dines and wine's with the cabal so they already sorted themselves out.

This is very wrong. You're seeing this from more than 15yrs ago when it was still Rivers State University of Science and Technology. Cultism is almost dead in the school as they've employed more security measures and yahoo making it very unattractive. Also the school have a very young population now unlike years ago when you have men as students. When I when to process my kid brother's admission I saw people bolding brandishing their phones and gadgets in the open which anyone who graduated from the school from 10-15yrs ago will agree wasn't possible. I graduated from the school so this is from the horse's mouth. Again those pictures aren't from the scout campus and that stjnt isn't necessarily for security purposes as there's no need for that unless he has done something wrong that would make him need a personal guard.

What so many people won't want to admit is that yahoo really curtailed cultism in that school and other schools too elsewhere. Gadgets were constantly stolen and sold at Garrison but that's not very common again because why risk stealing when you can just buy any phone from proceeds of yahoo? The school has really gotten better especially with infrastructure and a few years from now cultism will die off totally.

Frankly, I agree on some of the points.
Personally, I don't mind paying 5 times the previous price as a result of a new Government policy. The reluctance and the pain comes from where we know these resources they claim are saved as a result of the hardship inflicted upon me, are mismanaged. The benefits, never reaching the bottom.
I have nothing personally against Tinubu. I believe actions speak louder than words, I will wait and see what he does.
As time does go on, I gain a deeper understanding of this our special nation Nigeria, the supposed Cabal, does truly exist, and their interests will be protected. In the short term, it will be impossible to secure the borders, Bubu's policy of no fuel sold 20km to the border. As long as there is profit to be made, there will be risk-taking entrepreneurs and willing saboteurs.

Tinubu cannot remove the fuel subsidy, at least not in his first term. It will take a brave Govt with nothing to lose.

You get my point. When a thief is caught fellow thieves join hands to deliver jungle justice. Tinubu wouldn't want to remove subsidy yet as there's money to be made by importers, he wouldn't want to be the sacrificial lamb to suffer the backlash of a very angry and frustrated 200m people. Again I maintain that Tinubu can't be trusted with subsidy funds. Remember were talking about billions of dollars here. The effect of its removal may not reach the comman man. The big question is if the end justifies the means; for now the answer is NO. So many Nigerians wouldn't mind the hardship if the can reap the benefits of subsidy removal. It's a long way from here man and it's not going to be easy.

And them never still remove subsidy! Omo

The tricky thing about this subsidy of a thing is that we're expecting fuel prices to be around #500–600/ltr. This is the same prices we had when there was scarcity of if months ago with about 50-100% increase in fares but when subsidy is permanently removed its gonna be worse. My point is that the country is already in distress but greed amongst ourselves isn't helping. Market women aren't helping us at all, they want big profit margins for each sale they make sighting increase in cost price which isn't always the case. When they do this the transporters would be left with no other option than to increase prices too. Whether subsidy is removed now or later its not gonna be easy, tough times ahead.

I think this is a naive opinion. You should't borrow to pay subsidy on Gasoline, wherein a significant proportion of it is exported to neighbouring countries. Nigeria has the lowest gas prices in West Africa and we are a smugglers paradise.
Soon the borrowing will be impossible without fiscal cut, very steep ones unlike those we have ever seen.

We all know thus but our fear is that if subsidy is done in a haste the country would implode. Why do you think Buhari didn't remove it? What will happen will be 3 times of that with the ill-thought cashless policy during the election. Anyone who removes subsidy would have a largesse to look from that's why subsidy removal should only be handled by someone who atleast has some trust with funds — that person is not Tinubu! He's scared he may not be re-elected with the new found hardship and chaos he must have thrown Nigerians into. Would you mind paying #500 for fair that used to be #100? The consequences would be too much, I mean much more than the problem of racketeering of oil products across the border that we're trying to fix.

I noticed that every comment from a woman regarding this Hakimi saga is so unintelligent. Reading them further exposes how retarded women are. So much nonsense being spewed just to defend nonsense. We started dating when she got admission in 2018. She was a novice and a church girl then .
There was nothing like intimacy till 2021 and that was when I deflowered her ,

Since I promised my self that I must marry who ever I deflowered , I started taking care of some parts of her needs hoping that I will get financially stable and settle down with her .

She was the type of girl that everyone assumed to be an angel . I trusted her more than anything on earth .

She is too jealous that she suspects that I’m cheating even when I was not . She misinterprets everything an opposite sex sends to me

Fast forward to 2022 . She visited one day and got upset that another girl referred to me as “babe” on chat instead of saying “hi” . I insisted that she brings her own phone so I check if a guy has never called her babe

On getting to her chat , I noticed this guy that she saved as “my favorite” . They had no chats (she deletes everything) . I decided to dig deeper only to find out that this guy has been going to her house (family house ) to sleep with her . It’s not once , it’s not twice . And it was frequent the period she even said I should give her space that they were doing family prayers

The worst is that I told the mum and elder siblings out of anger. They did absolutely nothing . The mum only denied knowing that the guy comes around when everyone is out

A month later, I saw a chat of the mum asking her why she doesn’t pick the guy’s call again . I almost ran mad

She has promised and vouched that she won’t try such again and doesn’t know what came over her her .

I have tried everything possible to forgive her since no one treats me the way she does , but I keep loosing weight and falling sick by day .

I’m currently depressed and don’t know what to do again

Leave that lying b i t c h and her family alone and move on with your life!
