Bunsenbun: Someone else agrees with me too. PE as first degree is a trap!!! I'm in my finals and found out late,no one really told me about how difficult getting a job is,only concentrated on getting a fat pay even though it's true buy where are the jobs? I intend on running my afters ASAP on either chemical engineering or Geophysics. |
Career / Re: Is Studying Geology A Good Choice? by ben1daEbiri(m): 8:27pm On Jun 20, 2021 |
4gunners: Chemical engineering is wry better than PE for first degree. Those quoting me saying I should graduate first and apply for jobs lol. Mechanical engineers have more than 60% of PE jobs. It's easier for a ME to get a job than a PE...infact it's almost the same for all engineering discipline the only difference is PE having a better base payment but the fact remains that there are very few PE jobs as compared to others. I'll say it again, PE is a no-no for a first degree. |

Lordkratus: Petroleum Engineering is shi.t He's better off with geology/Geophysics. There are little to no jobs in the oil industry. PE is too streamlined,I'll never advise anyone to study PE as a first degree. I'm studying PE and in my finals and I know better now, wish I had someone to put me through earlier on. I repeat PE as first degree is a trap!!! 14 Likes |

Furious1: First things first, what are sediments? factors that influence sedimentation? No particular location has peculiar sediments indigenous to that location, sediments from place to place and compaction takes place. You know weathering process aid sediment of which water is a major agent of weathering so no need ruling out the impact of the Rivers in HC sedimentation and accumulation. This same reason is why the ND is reach in HC resources. My point is,the imo shale you mentioned earlier didn't become a source rock overnight so the Igbos shouldn't see it as a change in the direction of the tide even though it could be. I'm from Rivers State by the way so I know why I'm clearing this up ( I know you think I'm from the north). Someone already pointed out I was rude and I'm deeply sorry. |

Furious1: You mentioned sediments and went straight to oil migration from akata to agbada. Which is deeper? The Rivers niger and benue played no part in hydrocarbon sedimentation and accumulation? Armchair geologist!! |

EraseTheDot: He's correct to some extent but failed to point out some other parameters peculiar for that to happen. Most gas reserves can be as a result of overmaturation of an oil reserve. This occurs as a result of the exposure of the oil over high temperature and pressure for long periods of time. I don't have much time to say more about this so you can read up. |

tedio: Did the technician change any internal components like transistor or something else? Did you also confirm from the customer care if you account is running/active. If the earlier is the case then that may have altered with the chip number used to activate the account resulting in you getting the "scrambled channel" message. You mentioned other fta channels are smooth right? |

shozillo: You could make your point without being rude. Has the Rivers State judiciary openly say they're underfunded? They're not lacking bro! I'm from Rivers State so yes Wike doesn't say what he didn't do. Again, the RS judiciary isn't underfunded!! |

GBOKASINCHA: Lol...if only you know what's happening in real-time. Just Like the post asserted, they had no need to go on strike because the Rivers State chapter are independent from the federal, they're all paid and believe me the Rivers State judiciary has enjoyed a lot of privileges under him from buy judges cars to building them houses. There was really no need for them to go on strike, maybe it was just for solidarity but they aren't affected. Same goes for Rivers State University too, they're no longer part of ASUU so don't go on strike and believe me we're loving it. The Governor has its shortcomings like lack of employment and promotion since he assumed power in the Rivers State civil service, not much projects under his belt apart from sprinkling flyovers here and there but he doesn't fail on the basics — payment of salaries and pensions. With the enormous resources and revenue Rivers State generates, he's expected to do better but in the present day Nigeria were mediocre Governors walk free, he seem to be doing so much. |

seunny4lif: He knows next to nothing. It's not necessarily by spending billions on nothing. Most of the budget is actually on research and NOT weapons development. American spent billions to develop the F-35 but it has been maimed with faults so they had to developed another. Till date, even America accepts that their best fighter jet is the F-22 Raptor. The SU-35 is better comparatively with cost to the F-35 2 Likes |

Flamees: Being the first to do something doesn't make you the best at it. Early missiles were developed by nazi Germany but today Russia has the beat ICBM around, they have a very good airforce too. If Russia stations ICBM carrier between the NATO members borders trust me they'll back out. If an all out war breaks out, it will be between Russia and the US because these other nations have very little to no firepower. Once again there would be no wars in the nearest future because the nations that matter posses weapons of check and balances. 2 Likes |

amrichy: You know why there hasn't been another world war? Because we have a few countries with weapons to keep others in check. Without checks, democracy is just a disguised dictatorship. Wonder why our National Assembly is a mess? Because it has become rubberstamped — no checks on the errs of the presidency whatsoever. Twitter has rules and these rules are one of the little ways to keep these power hungry mo.fos in check. |

BluntCrazeMan: You see, the delegate system was the best shot at this but over time we lost confidence on our delegates. The NASS is setup in a similar structure but at the end what do we have? Selfish dollars-pocketing animals. Nigeria defies logic, policies loom good on paper but doesn't work when applied; why? Because the policy maker left a back do to exploit the policy to his own undue advantage! Maybe we should go back to why CONFAB'14 wasn't implemented. Ee should do away with this kindergarten-level relic we call a constitution. It's not working and not gonna work. 1 Like |
