We can all see the level of waste being perpetrated by our politicians, how on earth should a single person be in possession of 22 official vehicles? But for them to pay a living wage to workers, they claimed it will lead to bankruptcy. Though Edo state is different because they even pay more than Federal government. |
RIP Prof, a dedicated lecturer who even taught me during my MBA program many years ago. God's comfort for her immediate family and the university community. |
Ironbull:Mr ironbull, you missed the point, the bag of cement that the VP talked about is in figurative term, what he meant is that one need not to be physically sound before he will be a good leader, which I totally disagreed with him. Why is it a job of level 8 in civil service or in private companies, requires certificate of fitness, after test of mental alertness and metal capabilities. Why is that the two predecessors to Mr. President were blamed for poor performance as a result of ill health. You also insulted people and send them back home that they should ask their father to lift up a big of cement. The question are you in Nigeria? Do you not hear mr. President claiming that no one should pity him that he is the one that applied for the job, why are you weeping more than the bereaved. His job requires both physical and mental alertness if any one is lacking of the two one cannot perform optimally. |
Vice President Sir, if all your good policies drives our economy to the level we are now, may I tell you that Nigerians is totally disappointed in the government. During Baba Obasanjo middle level civil servant are building house and buying cars which opens door for artisans and business units, because money is circulating round the economy. But today civil servants on level 14 and 15 are selling their cars to buy rubber, rubber machines, and many have resulted into commercial bus and trekking, while you politicians are buying jets, or is the idea only meant for politicians to enjoy and the masses suffering? then where is your claim that leadership is about good ideas, if the only thing the idea can bring is deep poverty may I tell you Sir, that Nigerians don't need that idea. |
Mr. Tax reformer, let it be known to you that Nigeria is not poor, our poverty is man made, particularly this useless party that is ruling us now. Our poverty was as a result of you politicians and top civil servants who have taken our resources as personal income and enterprise, that when money is generated by income generating agencies, they pay whatever they like into government purse as NNPCL always did, they will deduct all abnormal deductions. Then when the little they send to federation account reach there, 60% of it will be embezzled by politicians and civil servants, the remaining will be spent on frivolous expenditure like, construction a building at 21 billion naira for VP, buying yacht for billions, buying suvs for each national assembly members, taking thousand of people to the so called conference, which the attendees did not understand why they were there, buying jets, subsidies hajj operation of few individual at billions and above all, contract inflation. All this is what make us poor, which is deliberately induced by the wicked leaders so that they can control our thought. |
For them to pay living wage to workers they are dragging it for more than a year now, on the premise that they cant afford it, but they can afford the most expensive items of this world. Those who claimed that the worst civilian government is better than best military government have not visit Nigeria to disprove the assertion. What is happening in Niger Republic the other two west African countries, in term of Prudence in spending government money in Nigeria is a living testimony. |
Dbegining:Please what you see in them is not an epitome of weakness, but a sign of crookedness and wickedness. They only think of themselves and were delighted in seeing masses suffering, weeping and begging, that is why they took care of themselves, legislators and increased judges salary by 300% without consultation with stake holders, but to increase civil servant salary by just something above 100% needs wider consultation, because they do not have any say or checkmate them when they misbehaved. |
Racoon:Totally agreed with you on the above assertion. |
Please someone should help my ignorance, why is it that our generals will be attacked and kill as common man, where is their expertise in warfare, or they just carry the title general without correspondent skills in warfare. Even if the man will be killed, one expect him to gone down some of them before we will be overpowered. |
Mr. President, when it comes to common man they must be fished out and be punished for any fraud committed. But when it comes to subsidy scam, they are untouchable, it is common man that must be punished for fraud committed by our elites and politicians instead of fishing them out and be punished, we have the statement; subsidy gone. Let it be known to the wicked Nigeria politicians that they all laughing at the masses calamity of hunger and suffering now, while they are living extravagant life, Nigerians masses are going to laugh over them at last, for an adage says he who laugh last laugh best, a day of accountability from God is on the way for them. |
Faiththatworks:It seems that you are not coversant with NNPCL fraud, you say they said we consume 25 millions liters, the man claimed that we are consuming 100 million liters, later he claimed it is 60 millions, to the extend that minister of state for petroleum and customs boss Hamadu Ail, asked him that are we drinking petrol in this nation. All the economic woes of this country came as a result of corrupt practice of Mele Kyari, he suppose to be in jail with Emefele, but unfortunate the president rewarded him with another tenure. But one thing is sure, the cry and tears of common man in this country whom he has made life unbearable for will not allow him to go Scott free without paying heavily for his evil and wicked act. |
helinues:How do you expect Nigerians to wish well to government that is so wicked to them, Abacha and Goodnight, before they remove subsidy, they planned palliative for the people, even under the military regime, but those who claimed they fight for democracy are now so wicked to us. The way they all responded to the single criticism, one would expect them to respond to cry of people when the president was passing that " ebi npa wa" in Lagos. Defending what is indefensible, does not change that fact. |
These government sponsored private entrepreneurs are just joking, when government increase petroleum and electricity prices by more than 300% percent, where were they, why cant they shout that it will lead to inflation, which they themselves are deeply beneficiary, by making abnormal gain as a result of inflation. But when it comes to the level of giving out what they have unmeritedly benefited, they now remember there is inflation when salaries increases. If they do not increase salary, how would worker understand them feed his family and meet other essential needs. That even remand me of old man who has been in government since 1999 till date, and have steals more the what his unborn generation can spend, open his mouth and insulted labour that he cant pay 100,000 naira each to his four drivers, which means he kept them because he was paying them peanut, and as a worker under him, do they not deserve living wage, and they called themselves leaders in this country. God will get rid of those who make life difficult and unbearable for us while they are living extravagant life. |
The recent revelation has shown that Bill Gate has no good intention for the world, he is playing God, all his donations and philanthropists are meant to limit the world population, especially African Continent, people should stop appreciate his fake kind gesture. |
Change in any society only come when leaders are upright and have vision. This government must first change their rent seeking attitude, before coming to ordinary Nigerians. In a situation when leaders are extravagant and flamboyant in their life style, citizen must follow, how can one explain a government that spend 21 billions naira to renovate a single person's house, but spend 12 billion naira to build hostels in about ten universities, a government that purchased yacht for president to go on tourism on the sea, constructing coaster road at an outragious cost without due process and allow nnpc to drain our income through corrupt practise without checks, which make them to claim 45 Dollars as the cost of drilling a barren of crude as against international standard of between 10-12 Dallas. All government contracts are inflated by more than 5 times unabated, 160 million naira for suvs for each nass members with recent proposal to buy two jets to presidential fleets, can not come and tell the masses to change their mindset, let the change begin with him first, after all, leadership by example is the best leadership strategy. |
Mr. EFCC Chairman, you may have good intension, but your working environment does not conducive, a situation where a ruling party chairman said publicly that join our party and all your sins are written off cant achieve what you said, because they have made themselves to be law. Also, party that is filled with rogues, thieves, certificate forgers and other forms of criminality and not sanitise any society. Even because poverty has been weaponized in this country, some masses also support these thieves and demonstrate on their behalf, these are some of dilemma faced by the man. |
That is the reason where law enforcement agencies become a dean of lions, because criminals and untrainable personnel are being recruited among good applicants. Thanks to I.G. for this observation, and we hope he will stood his ground for the right thing to be done, even this problem is not limited to police alone, all government agencies are guilty of this offence, only God can safe this country, even during military, corruption and nepotism is not as visible as this. |
Nwosu is being remembered for his role in defending democracy and free and fair elections he conducted even when he is being intimidated with AK 47. But in the nearest future what are we going to say about election that was conducted by Yakubu, while Nwosu withstood AK 47, Yakubu cannot withstand Dollar temptation, but the names of both will enter the record book of Nigeria for their children to know the contribution of each of them to our democracy. |
All this empty skull minister who have idea of how govern and bring out good policies except making unnecessary bad comparison should be sacked immediately, what is the man trying to insinuate? That since other are paying high Nigeria too should pay high. Mr no foresight minister before you assume office, Nigeria has been enjoying it like that, it your tenure we have band A, B, C etc. that increases the price without corresponding increment in power supply. When it come to privileged enjoyed by masses they complain, but they will not compare what we favourite a common man, on the issue of minimum wage, many countries are paying about 130,000, 120,000 etc, they will not bring these countries to the argument. |
Prof Sir, you have well spoken now your warning to Tinubu not approve living wage for workers yesterday was highly criticised, but you spoke well this morning. Not only reduced their salaries the flamboyant life style of going in conveys of 30 to 40 cars must be discontinued, also the rate at which government officials inflated the cost of contract in this country is alarming, which make the cost of contract in Nigeria to be highest in Africa, even take as an example, NNPC is claiming they spend about 21 Dollars to drill a barren of crude, while the average cost in Saudi is about 5 Dollars why? These are some corrupt practises that drain our resources. Prof. Soludo should help appeal to his colleagues governors and Federal Government to limit this waste in government spending. |
I think they said this man was a pastor, has forgotten the Bible passages. The person that claimed he will snatch it and run away with it cannot be said to have sent by God. Also the bible says when the righteous ate ruling people rejoice, we all saw it in Lagos when he was passing the chorus was ebi npawa oho. Apart fro this whoever God chooses must first be chosen be people, Obasanjo was chosen by people and he was invited to be presidential candidate, Yaradua was chosen by Obasanjo and plan election rigging for him, what helped Yaradua to be the of people was his sincerity, he acknowledged the fraud election and promised to make amend, that God's chosen people. It was Yaradua that made Jonathan V.P. before Providence before made him to be presidentb after his boss death. Now emilokan made himself, bribe himself to power, without |
YesDaddyTill203:Your name even suggest that "yesdaddy" even if one is going to have a contrary opinion, that opinion must be based on common sense and sense of logic reasoning. In a country where nass members are taken millions, ministers are taken millions, judges salary increased by 300% without job loss, why would someone in his right sense say paying about 100 thousand will lead to job loss without interrogating him that what those who earn millions monthly. Beside this, if you are a family of four please take 100 thousand naira to market and see if you can buy food that will sustain your family for a month without other expensive, that is the reasoning am taking about. |
Before there will be job loss among workers, you ministers will first go, follow by senators and other political appointees, then 21 billion naira vp house sold, all suvs of National Assembly members sold, 17 trillion Lagos-Calabar road project suspended until due process followed and outrageous price reduced, these are conditions that can allow workers to be affected. |
Ekenev2:I totally agree with you all those supporting starvation salary are either paid government supporters like Omokri or Bwala. Who will soon fade away. |
With due respect Prof, sometimes political rascality and loss of human empathy couple with corruption and wickedness always override the sense of reasoning and academic theories, mr. governor as an economist when the man proclaimed subsidy gone and flow our naira without corresponding increased productivity to earn foreign exchange, you lost your voice to tell the man the consequences of his action that brings hyper inflation, that make the price level to increase by about 400%. Now that he has to face consequences of that action in form of wage increment you suddenly postulated that there will be consequences. Am not surprise because all governors had been advocating for subsidy removal to have more money coming to their state to embezzled and diverted to private purse, a case in study is kogi where ex-governor was climbing the fence to escape EFCC probe of 80 billion naira, our Prof. did not pity the people there, the only money that circular to masses and boost our economy is what is paid to government workers, all the money our Prof. and other governors and politically exposed persons embezzled are not found in our domestic economy, they either send to foreign countries to buy assets, change it to dollar and store in the tank and sock ways. Let there by living wage for workers so that worker can live a decent life. Also Prof with all sincerity, how much do you give to your boy or daughter to go and shop or spend in a weekend as compare to minimum wage you are pity Mr president for. |
bestman09:You very correct, this is the bane of Nigeria development; religion and ethnic sentiment. |
It is the fault of opposition parties and figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Bukola Saraki, Femi Falana and others who do not support the masses to fight the wicked policies of this government, make them to even be bold to tell, masses that they will even take inhuman policies in future. The present government sponsored occupy Ojota to fight subsidy removal during Jonathan reign as an opposition party then, why cant these people also join the masses in their demonstration and fight against all this anti people's policies dictated by foreign organisms to this government. Until the opposition parties wake up from their slumbers to provide purposely opposition and masses to fight for good governance, dividends of democracy may be difficult to achieve. |
This is real gbajue government, when it comes to what we make life difficult, it will be immediate, but when it comes to what will benefit people and bring relief to their suffering it will be very soon and that soon is undefined. All promises made during and after elections are all hanging on the balance. But they are busy building mansions and buying such for themselves and awarding trillions naira contract at highly inflated prises. The little series of average Nigerians have been taking away by hyperinflation of subsidy gone regime. |
See the way our govt officials are wasting our money, promised to take a woman to Hong Kong at government expense. The same government will now complaint that no money to provide any social facilities: health, education energy, water etc, while they have more than enough to lavish on themselves, by building 21 billion house, buying thousand of suvs, yatch frequent traveling abroad etc. |
This is an admittance of inability to protect our territorial integrity by our security forces. What is essence of all our security forces if they cannot check smuggling of our economic resources, then there is no need to continue paying custom, immigration officers, the police and the DSS and others. |
This is the type of professional display one would expect from army, kudos to the officer. |
Submit you life to Christ, and go and humble yourself and beg your former husband for forgiveness, because no amount of money you beg for can satisfy you, it can only take you deep into prostitution. |
