Politics / Re: Governor Ododo Committed Criminal Offence By Aiding Yahaya Bello’s Escape -Sagay by benjaminlawson(m): 9:12am On Apr 24
I use to say it that, those who included immunity clause to the constitution did so when we have sane people as governors, but now that many of them are criminals parading themselves as governors, then the clause is well overdue to be removed from the constitution. This have made them to think that they are above the law, even the type of impunity these rogues enjoyed the president did not enjoy it, because they have caged all the other arms of government in their individual states.
Politics / Re: "If I do not see the Yahaya Bello case to the end, I will resign" - Olukoyede by benjaminlawson(m): 6:46pm On Apr 23
In as such as I appreciate the statement, am not totally convinced of EFCC activities, yeye bello case is a case of injustice. All past governors should have been subjected to the same scrutiny. Any one of them found wanting should be brought to book, not just yeye bello. EFCC should have adopted what Abia governor did, by employing independent world reputed auditor to audit 8 years tenure of each of them. The one that is on social media parking Dollars in his babariga is now a chairman. If all of them cannot be questioned why yeye bello alone?
Politics / Re: Senate Minority Leader Reacts To Rumours Of Wike Giving Senators $2 Million by benjaminlawson(m): 10:41am On Apr 22
If it is not true, where was the rumor emanated from?ⁿ. I said it earlier that CBN and EFCC are pursuing those transact in Dollar in Nigeria, then I asked what of those that used the same Dollar to buy delegates vote? Are they going to be arrested and prosecuted? So any person that uses Dollar to buy vote must not be exempted for punishment.
Politics / Re: IMF: Why We Asked Nigeria To Remove Fuel Subsidy by benjaminlawson(m): 8:24am On Apr 20
God will deal with these wicked organizations called IMF and World Bank, why coming up with unintelligent argument of subsidy benefits only few people. Have they forgotten that transportation and energy is the soul of any nation. Even with the claimed that some have many cars, if you have 100 cars will you ride all at a time? How many of these thieves who scamed us through subsidy payments have been arrested and prosecuted? Or they are untouchable? but Nigeria masses should be punished for their sins of corruption? The IMF who are concerned with government having enough money to rum gpvernment, failed to look at waste in government spending; where a boredom is sank at 190 million naira instead of average of cost of 10 million naira, the cost of every contract in Nigeria by our government is super inflated, and is one of the highest in the world, these useless organizations will not set international standard for the price of our contract, it is only what benefited them and our stooge leaders they force us to implement, it is not their fault, it is the type and quality of leaders we have in Nigeria that allow that, that is why some African new leaders are moving away from European and American influence, because they do not mean well for Nigeria in particular and African Continent in general.
Education / Re: Tinubu Directs Education Officials To Conduct Census Of All Schools, Teachers by benjaminlawson(m): 10:40am On Apr 19
Unless independent body is saddled with the responsibility, because some states and local governments will inflate the figure above comprehensible level, with the intention of getting huge allocation if the same is to be used to allocate fund for its development. If true data is to be obtained, uncompromising body should be used.
Politics / Re: Call EFCC To Order, Nigeria Not Lawless Country – Yahaya Bello Media Office by benjaminlawson(m): 9:46am On Apr 18
Mr. Yeye bello, is now you realize that Nigeria is not a lawless country. Let me remain you that you have benefit from lawless system in the following instances; when you want to win election for your second term, you claimed that when people hear tau, tau, which means the sound of gun they will run, the rest is history. Also when FG game you money 20 billion naira to settle workers salary in your state, you went and deposit it in your private account, while workers are dying of hunger, if not a lawless country how would that happen. Even the same criminal that drove you out of your house, when you notice that the election is not favorite to you, it was alleged that you manipulate it in your local governments, and many more of your alleged infraction against the constitution of Nigeria, all these allegations against you can be find in a lawless country, is now your turn to taste of her lawlessness, actually they did not commit any lawless again you, except is just want to ask you some questions, coming to your house is not an illegal act on the path of efcc.
Politics / Re: Governor Ododo Helps Bello Out Of Abuja Residence Amid EFCC, DSS siege by benjaminlawson(m): 9:22am On Apr 18
If the immunity and security protecting is now turned to aid corruption and protect criminals, I think it high time we remove it from constitution.
Education / Re: University Of Ibadan Students Lament 450–750% Fee Hike by benjaminlawson(m): 8:38am On Apr 18
casualobserver:

You are deflecting from the point. How many of the 400,000 graduates that we produce every year do you know, talk less of how many do you know that have decent jobs? The majority are drivers, sales girls and boys, receptionists, bank tellers or unemployed because they are graduates with degrees that have no value in the market place.

Continue with your emotional arguments just like you did with fuel subsidy and electricity subsidy. Fuel subsidy gave you bad roads, electricity subsidy gave you no electricity and university subsidy has given you bad unemployable graduates.

FACT:
1) you pay peanuts, you get peanuts.
2) Education is not free. You either pay in form of taxes or you pay in form of fees. The more taxes or fees you pay the better your education and the less the poorer your education.

You want to go to Lagos from Abuja and you get on a bus to Kano and we are telling you this bus will never take you to Lagos. Instead you start to argue and curse. When you finish arguing and cursing everybody. Your situation and the fact stil remains the same….the bus you entered is going to Kano not Lagos! If you like you get off the bus now, if you like you wait till you get to Kano. Abuse everybody and their father, Either way that bus is not taking you to Lagos!! So if you like think those who are paying huge fees are fools, after 4 years in University you will realize all your 45k university tuition can get you is a 45k job, if you are lucky.

Keep arguing with yourself.

You better stop this premitive argument, those people that are imposing this high fees, how much did they pay in their own time, was education not better than what we have now with high fees?
Education / Re: University Of Ibadan Students Lament 450–750% Fee Hike by benjaminlawson(m): 8:35am On Apr 18
Why are the students complaining? Where is the spirit of Aluta contintinua? The students' union government must rise to the occasion and fight these wicked administrators, who enjoyed freed education including free feeding in their day, but are now make life unbearable for our children. Student should not allow politician like Seyi to come closer to their election venue nor allow vcs to influence who become students' union leaders in their various instructions.

Politics / Re: MDAs Remitted ₦‎835.7 Billion Revenue To FG In February – Edun by benjaminlawson(m): 5:06pm On Apr 13
Thank you mr Minister for the job well done, we have seen great improvement on generating side, but the major problem we have in Nigeria is that, even when little was generated, that little one is being looted by top civil servants and politicians. This is mainly achieved through contract inflation and collection of money on unexecuted projects. Let take an instance where nass budgeted 190 million naira to sink a borehole, in which it has been argued that 10 million naira will successively sink it according to PO, also, the recent east / west road from Lagos to Calabar they claimed it will cost about 13 billion Dollars, it has also be established that a longer road in Morocco cost less than two billions Dollars, even Alhaji Atiku Abubakar openly came to allege that the contract was fraudulent, the list goes on and on. If one have access to MDAs and see how much they normally budget for set of computer and printer, those that are familiar with these items will definitely curse these officials. The conclusion is, if in Nigeria the cost of contract is always inflated between 6 to 10 times the actual cost, the masses will never benefit anything from additional revenue that is accrued to any government.
Business / Re: 1 Dollar Is Now ₦‎1,070 by benjaminlawson(m): 4:23pm On Apr 13
Kudos to CBN, but the good policies should continue, one such is proper profiling of Dollar buyers and sellers from MDBs to BDEs. Not only this, only naira must be recognized as legal tender in Nigeria, all businesses and government agencies must charge in Naira, even including our foreign embassies. Our political class who also use Dollar as bribe during elections primaries must also be arrested because no one is above the law of our land.
Business / Re: Naira Is "World's Best Performing Currency" In April - Bloomberg by benjaminlawson(m): 6:56pm On Apr 12
Validated:

First off, stop peddling lies. It will not help you in life. Lies can only get you through the "door", but the truth helps you to grow. Learn that mystery for your own good.

Dollar-Naira Exchange Rate from 1997 to 2000(Black Market Rate.)
1997 $1 = N84. 58
1998 $1 = N84. 70
1999 $1 = N88-N90
2000 $1 = N105.(PDP)
Then APC met it at N216 and now celebrating N1200? Is that not hypocrisy?

Which means if some people quote a figure, one need to verify it, because did they got 28 naira to Dollar that some hypocrites are claiming on nairaland. 90 naira in 1999 and 216 naira in 2015 is just about 120% increment but from 216 naira to 1900 in 2024 is about 800% increment.
Politics / Re: Border Reopening Will Cripple Nigeria’s Economy, Rep Warns by benjaminlawson(m): 11:19am On Apr 11
If this our so called leaders in both arms of government failed to repent, I pity them and their families because the hanger of God is hanging on them. How would a set of people that import virtually everything they consumed saying we should not open border. The closure of border has made monopolist like Dangote and other to make abnormal profit. The man advocating for non reopening of border failed to realize that they only close the borders in the south, while northern borders were wide opened for all forms of import and export of goods and services. The Nigeria law and policies are not binding on some section of this country, particularly when they are in power.

RIP mr Pope, this is an eye opener for all that death is inevitable, but if it comes, where would you spend your eternity, remember there are only two options; with God in Heaven or Satan in hell. Jesus is the only way to Heaven, accept Him into your life, confess and turn away from your sins and He will safe you.

Politics / Re: Peter Obi Backs Tinubu Government On Electricity Tariff Hike by benjaminlawson(m): 10:59am On Apr 08
God bless Peter Obi, he has now become a standard and raly round for government policies, without his support, the policies of this government will be unpopular. Man dont need any other thing more than this in life, ride on Peter Obi, but I must still add that this people have not show us where he made the mpronouncement, so that we can confirm it. Even with that, any decision to put more burden on Nigeria in the name of deseptive subsidy removal is not welcome again in Nigeria.
Crime / Re: EFCC Arrests Kwara Pastor Adeniyi James For Defrauding Church Member N3.9m by benjaminlawson(m): 1:46pm On Apr 07
I don't know who has done this to us in this country, a governor left a debt of 85 billing naira, plus 587 million Dollars and contractual obligation of 115 projects, that even affected the smooth running of that state by incumbent governor, yet the EFCC failed to pursue such an individual, it is someone who defrauded with 3 million naira is their priority. In as such I don't support crime of any magnitude, leaving bid thieves and pursue an hungry person is not accepted, all of us should be weigh under the same balance.

Point of correction please, only Yar'dua publicly declared his assets, Buhari failed to do so publicly, though he promised that but he failed.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Senegal’s President: Bassirou Fayeone Publicly Decleared Personal Assets by benjaminlawson(m): 10:02am On Apr 05
Very good of him, this happened because he was elected by his people and not selected by few people including the electoral body. The election in Liberia and Senegal were judged to be free and fair and a reflection of people' s will, that is why there is peace over there. Former head State Abdulsalam and Bishop Kuka peace committee in Nigeria should be focused in our next election on INEC following their rule and security agencies abide by rule of providing security only during our election. That is the only condition that will guarantee good governance in Nigeria. President Tinubu that is preaching unity without rule of law, justice, accountability and equity in the continent is not speaking the mind of generality of people of Africa.

Hope they will not go and bring scrap and unserviceable tractors and call them new tractors, because the where about of that of the first 10,000 ordered under buhari is no where to be found now. Apart from this, the cost price for each tractor must be made known to compare it with market price.

No one should celebrate any monopolist they are enemies of consumers and nation in general. Let the government encourage many producers, if possible let the government assist them with loan as emefele did to dangote himself. This is the only time we can celebrate, not one monopolist.

COMPAQ:

Metering is the main issue. All the comments about paying for darkness have no basis if that person is metered, cos you only pay for what you use.

Are you part of them? People are complaining of increase in price of energy from 65 to 200 naira, and you are talking of meter, would meter reduce the price.

I only pity the families of these wicked people called our leaders, by the time God begin to deal with them, all their family members will not be speared. Can you immerging, removal of subsidy on virtually everything in Nigeria; education, health, fuel, electricity etc, not because there is no money to pay it, but purely to have more money to steal, that is why verification of name only will cost our government nearly 500 million naira, sinking of a borehole for 190 million naira instead of less than 10 million naira, renovation of undilapidated building for 15 billion naira, the list is endless. They should not forget that those that ruled this country wickedly faced one judgment of God or the other.

Do you know what, some criminals killed the son of a senator in Kaduna and they ran to Niger Republic, DSS tracked them to that place and arrested them, despite the fact that they did not show their faces. But the criminal that shows his face for the whole world to see in Sokoto cannot be tracked, that is Nigeria for you.

The so called Nigeria rulers will run to foreign land, whether they are in government or out of government, to enjoy good quality life, but they all failed to reciprocate what they enjoy there in Nigeria. They only stole our money and move there with their families. The small development they claimed they make, they will mortgage the future of our unborn generations. That is why even the NASS budgeted 190 million naira for a single borehole which the highest price suppose not be more than 10 million Naira. But God will deal with them all.

The federal government should start paying this security agencies good salaries and welfare - this will reduce corruption and bribery in the system...

What if someone outside get access to the security personnel posted to guard the accused is lured with huge promises that he had imagined he can't get one tenth of it even if he retired successfully from service...

Don't let us attribute what is not the cause of an event, is NNPC and CBN official not well paid, even is the governor of CBN not ranked among the highest remunerated officials in country, does that stop them from corruptly enriching themselves.
