See ehn,let’s be realistic…he is expected to pay half of 5,700 by November. Even if he gets a job that pays £15 which is unlikely oo, that’s about 1,200 in a month. What about his feeding,accommodation,transportation and other little expenses that might come up..,Abi he wants to starve all through and the chances of landing a job immediately he gets there before the payment due date. I will advice he looks for an alternative, like take a loan and pay back gradually

In calculating your projected hourly income, put into consideration income tax. In the UK, for an hourly gross pay of £9.50 you get a net pay of around £7 or slightly more.

The truth is, a weekly 20hrs can never be sustainable for a single student, hence the need both the school and ukvi require you to show your POF. This is why people like us are going with our partners �.


Most students resort to cutting corners which land them into trouble (PSW denial) while some get away with it. How they get away with it is something that is totally unprofessional and shouldn't be discussed here.

Do the maths , £10 * 20 hr * 4 weeks

Are you the single guy? Is the single guy you?

Anyway, you can do the math yourself and know if it is feasible.

You already know your tution balance and location. Do a rough search for cost of shared accommodation with bills inclusive in that area per month.
Then another rough estimate of what the bus transport may cost ( again easy search on Google), then how factor in your feeding (do you do 3square meals or 0-1-1?).

Once you get an estimate, check minimum wage of £9.50/Hr for the 20hrs /week. That will give you an idea.

Also remember towards the end of studies you need to start saving for PSW visa and you can work unlimited during holidays( you need to confirm from your school what days are truly holiday, this is usually a grey area and people will rather stick to 20hrs throughout study,holiday or not to avoid stories that touch).

Let's know your findings and maybe others can advise further

Well from the calculations I made the 20hours won’t be enough to pay the balance between September and January.
800pounds per month
Rent is roughly 250-350 per month depending on area and other factors. Let’s say I manage to save 450 every month that’s 2250 by January ending

The only official holiday is the Christmas 2weeks official holiday, if I work let’s say 50hrs during Xmas holiday that’s 10*50*2weeks = 1000
2250+1000= 3250

Not even close and those are rough calculations there will be miscellaneous and unexpected bills along the line.

Please the guy doesn’t have dependent and he’s on the verge of giving up the whole process cause he feels like 20hours won’t cut it for him, knowing fully well he still have some other bills to pay like accommodation, feeding and transport.

The school is Uni of Derby

So I applied to this school and got rejected
Then I reapplied again with a different cv from the one I used during my first application both CV doesn’t correspond as there are different companies involved. So I got an email from the school asking me to confirm if I have previously applied for any course prior to the recent application I made and the school ID linked to it.

My question is that should o just ignored the email ? And I know before they can request for that , that have already seen my prior application and noticed it doesn’t correspond.
Are there any consequences if I should just ignored the application and their email as well?

Or I should just replied that I tailored my CV with the experience I have gotten to suit the requirements of the course? Or make I just ignore?

If you don’t have the right qualifications to enrol directly, the HND could be the course for you.

The HND provides a flexible route to degree study and a recognised qualification in its own right. Once you complete the HND you have the option to progress on to the BSc (Hons).

How is this possible?
The visa that will be issued to you for the HND program will expire in 2years. And no PSW visa will be issue after as it is not a BSC or MSC degree that will be awarded. So how do you intend to study part time and work full time after completing your HND program.

Can someone who already had HND certificate in Niaja go for another HND program in UK ? Coz to me it shows no career progression

Thank you so much Khadija. I just figured out HND route is cheaper. It's cheaper, about £7000 per year and it's just 2 years. And with the HND you can either complete your degree with direct entry into 3rd year of the course in another university or you start work with it.

I've applied to schools already. One has aknowledged receipt of application, with further instructions on the next steps to take.

May God's name be praised. I picked up my passport today at VI TLS.

Applied to 4 schools and got offers from them: Coventry, London Metropolitan University (offers in 2 courses), Middlesex University and Glasgow Caledonian University. Paid deposit to Middlesex as I got their offer 3 days after applying (October 7). I did 3 pre-CAS interviews and I was proud of my performance but was denied CAS because of my study gap (7 years). Applied for refund of 4500 pounds deposit (got refunded just last week since December).

Had to find a way of paying 3000 deposit for London Metropolitan University and applied for CAS in December. Got my CAS, January 6. No interviews. They are probably the fastest with CAS once you get your documents ready. You can get CAS in 3 days once they verified your payment.

Visa Application Jan 10th
Biometrics VI TLS Jan 18th
Paid mail February 7th Decision made
Collection mail February 7th
Passport collection February 8th
Documents submitted- Degree Certificate, Transcript, IELTS, POF, CAS, TB Certificate, Introduction letter, no NSF despite 7 years of study gap.

Went through a whole lot during this period. Already gave up hope as my school gave me 14th February as latest day for me to be the UK and they already advised me to defer till September but the good Lord came through for me.

What kept me going during it all was someone's testimony on Part 7 when she said her bible verse for prayer was Ephesians 3 vs 20. Since that day in early January, I wake up every night to pray and use the verse as point of contact with God. He answered my prayers.

I'll be in London this week as God lives and I am not sure I'll be able to hold my tears at Heathrow when I get to hug my eldest brother for the first time since 2002 when he left Nigeria. Man Sponsored everything.

I am crying as I'm typing this. I've gone through a lot.

May the good Lord grant favour to each and everyone of you still waiting on him as regards visa application, he will surely do it. You only need to believe.

Today is the 17th working day for me. Did bio on 14th Jan Abuja TLS and got NSF to provide further employment or studies after graduation in 2014 on 29th Jan and I replied with on 31st.

Is anyone in this situation or did anyone get such and later got their visa?

What was the documents you sent to prove for further employment status ?

I’m here to let you know that the journey of about two years has now become a thing of joy it’s all started since December 2020 after applying to Germany Austra and Spain Buh no Admisson fast forward to March last year when I started my Poland admission process where I spend time getting legalization and visa appointment, for like 3 months I couldn’t get any even after paying outrageously for runs finally I got appointment and submitted in end of June. I was denied visa even after appeal, then I was back to square one, after It took me another 2 month to get another one that time my passport was closer to expiring I had to renew and submit September again which was denied
At that point I taught the battle was lost completely because I appealed and still denied.
After counting my loss, efforts and stress I decided to try not give up so I started something new which was Uk, I applied to
about 13schools in total, 5 don’t accept Hnd 4 4 didn’t even respond on giving me or not the other 4 gave me offers
I weigh my options because I have some that are 2 years dropped them and ended with 2 Admisson finally.

I decided to move on with the one in London which paid 4K pound tuition deposit started pof only for them to say they can’t issue cas base on some reason, that I didn’t Meet up with the pre cas interview. Then I taught e don kukuma finish completely, I console myself with having the other school only for me to hear the deadline for payment ends in four days time. I started to find money to buy dollars because I can’t meet up if I use form A, bought 6800k dollars to fund my dollar card then make the payment. Surprisingly the school sent message to me that the fund didn’t get there until after 5day because they use an intermediary (flywire) which didn’t get the fund to school on time .
At that point then I knew anybody doing me or whatever dealing with me don win me infact I lost hope and prayed bitterly only for me to wake up on the third day that they are sorry that flywire didn’t let them know the money was blah blah blah that they are considering to prepare my CAS if I send the tb certificate and pof which I was still running for 6weeks already then.
At that point things started changing, the school went on end of the year break and even sent the cas at that period.

Got cas and book for appointment was given 26 of Jan meanwhile school resume 24 I sha get 10 of Jan and submitted
