How side chic drugged and stabbed Super TV CEO and Nigerian billionaire Michael Usifo Ataga to death in Lagos

It is a sad day for family and friends of Michael Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, and a director in Super Network Limited, a telecoms firm, as he has been gruesomely murdered by his side chick.

Ataga who resides in Banana Island was reported missing on Sunday by concerned friends and family after all efforts to reach him proved abortive.

Checks at his Victoria Island office showed he wasn’t there either and this put everyone in a panic mode including his wife and children who reside in Abuja.

Unfortunately, his lifeless body was found this morning in a flat in Lekki phase 1 with multiple stable wounds after several withdrawals were made from his account.

Usifo who would have been 50 years old today had met a girl about two weeks ago and they began a relationship. This despite the fact that he is married to a manager in Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

Usifo who felt more comfortable meeting with his side chic outside his home and hers, to prevent nosey neighbours from prying, rented an Airbnb in Lekki, Lagos where they both checked into before the unfortunate incidence.

Following his disappearance, a combined team of concerned friends, family members, the police and DSS operatives all the way from Abuja through the concerted efforts of the wife, tracked down the owner of the Airbnb, who received payment from the side chic’s bank account into which Ataga had previously made a transfer for the payment to.

The apartment was broken into and that was where he was found dead with multiple stabs in his neck, chest and thigh.

The side chick withdrew N5 million from his account before they killed Ataga.

Apparently, the side chic carried out the murder after she must have drugged him as the security guards at the rentals said no 3rd party came visiting Atage and the side chic besides a dispatch rider who brought drugs for the girl.

The side chic who was last seen on Tuesday when the murder happened, was equally tracked down and arrested alongside the owner of the Airbnb.

Many of Ataga’s friends have expressed as to how the side chic was able to pull the dastardly act all alone as Ataga was said to have been an amateur boxer who was very strong.

After the side chic left the apartment following his gruesome death, money began to disappear from Atage’s Guaranty Trust Bank account and it was an email from Ataga’s email address asking for a change in his account details, did the withdrawals stop.

With thiis, GTBank put an embargo on the account to prevent any further withdrawal.

Investigations is still on and the case is still unfolding.

There are growing concerns over the suspected return of a disbanded security group, ‘Bakassi Boys’ to the streets of Awka, in Anambra State on Monday.

It is not clear who is behind the group

But with the growing insecurity, the resurgence of the dreaded outfit in the southeastern region, might compound the already vexing situation.

The dreaded ‘Bakassi Boys’ vigilante group, who engaged in jungle justice in Anambra State during the time of former governor, Chinwoke Mbadinuju, allegedly resurfaced after two decades to crush cultists and other criminals.

It was gathered that the group was seen moving around the state capital in two vans, singing and warning criminals to stay away from the area

Reports stated that the boys, who came mainly from alleged “cult groups” have taken over Awka town in recent times without any response from the police or the state government.

The police in Awka, seems not to know about the activities of the group. But the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Ikenga Tochukwu, expressed the willingness of the command to work with any stakeholder in ensuring security of lives and property in the state.

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Thursday, flagged off the construction of Nigeria’s first privately-owned Gas Inland LPG Terminal and Oil Palm Mills in Ore Industrial Park situated in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Akeredolu said the projects which are Public-Private Initiatives, are in furtherance of the commitment of his administration towards transforming the state to the economic and industrial hub of Nigeria.

The Projects, the 2,000 Megatonnes Alles Charis LPG Inland Terminal and the Red Gold Oil Palm Mills, were flagged off in commemoration of his 100 days in office as a second term Governor.

The LPG Inland Terminal and Red Gold Project is a Public-Private Partnership between the Ondo State Government and Private Investments.

The Alles Charis LPG, aimed to deploy quantity 8 inland storage within the next 5 years, is the first Privately Owned and biggest LPG Inland Terminal in Nigeria while the Red Gold Project is a partnership between the Ondo State Government and the National Oil Palm Producing Association of Nigeria (NPPAN) with the objective of focusing on a large scale Palm Oil Cultivation and Production.


Speaking at the event, Akeredolu assured the people of the State that his administration will continue to intensify conscious efforts to ensure the growth of existing industries in the State as well as creating an enabling environment to attract new investors.

He explained that upon the inception of his Government in the year 2017, the state could not boast of having any industry, however his government has now attracted numerous industries into the State.

According to him, “when we took over, the Ore Industrial Park was just a forest, however, within the space of 5 years, we have brought Linyi Hub which has 5 industries and three new ones to be added.”

Akeredolu said through the Ore Industrial Park, over 120,000 jobs opportunities will be created in the State. He also expressed high optimism that the LPG plant will catapult Ondo State as the nation’s LPG distribution nerve center.

Speaking on the Red Gold Project, the Governor stated that Ondo State has a comparative advantage in Palm Oil Cultivation over other states and nations across the world and his government will ensure that it fully develops the facility that will bring in millions for the State.

He also called on both local and foreign investors to invest in the state as his government is ready to provide the much needed incentives for them to thrive, stating that Lagos, the commercial headquarters of Nigeria, is already congested for business and that Investors should look into the direction of Ondo.

Present at the event were the Secretary to the State Government, Oladuni Odu, Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Dare Aragbaiye, Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo, Managing Director of Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), Boye Oyewumi and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Agribusiness, Pastor Akin Olotu, among others.

The police in Osun state has arrested a 40-year-old man, Kabiru Oyeduntan, with dismembered parts of a yet-to-be-identified woman, Reports.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command as Obtained By , said the police on Thursday, June 10 at about 9pm, got intelligence report that some ritualists beheaded an unknown lady at quarry area of Apomu.

She said a team of police operatives in collaboration with the local security outfits swiftly moved into action and arrested the suspect with the butchered body parts of a suspected lady of about 20 years of age, Learnt.

The spokesperson added that some of the body parts of the deceased are still missing. She said body parts recovered inside a box in one of the rooms of the suspect include the head, wrist, feet and some other parts of the severed body.

When interrogated, the suspect claimed one of his friends identified as Akin brought the deceased to his room to have sex with. He said he left them in the room and that when he returned, he found her dismembered body in his room. He says he doesn't know the whereabouts of his friend.

The police say he will be charged to court as soon as possible and that efforts are being made to arrest the said Akin and other members of the gang.

A young man simply identified as Olorunwa has been shot dead during a cult clash in Irojo, Ilesa in Osun state today, June 9, Reports.

According to residents of the area who notify , the deceased who was a worker at a sawmill in the area, was on his way to buy cowpea for his breakfast when he walked into members of the renounced Eye cult firing shots at a rival. One of the bullets fired hit him and he died instantly.

Men of the Ijamo B Divisional police Officer later arrived at the scene to restore normalcy in the area. The remains of the deceased has been moved to the mortuary, Learnt.

The state police command is yet to comment on the incident.
