Its all about the control that the position commands esp that of the executives like that of the president and governor!
Reduce their level of control esp in handling funds and the will become accountable!

If indeed he was popular like the op said,why was there widespread violent activities by thugs loyal to the APC?
Why did they go to PUs of their opponents to destroy or carry ballots boxes if indeed sanwolu was popular in those areas or LGAs?

Why the apparent intimidation of voters from a particular region before and during the election?

Why the change of venue from a secured location to an exposed area for some PUs?

Now the OP is chest beating because apc is apparently winning after a successful disruption of their opponents votes using their thugs and now masking it as with some unnecessary and inconsequential reasons!

I ask again,if a governor is popular and has done well for his citizens in his state,why would he need thugs to aid him in winning the election by disrupting and reducing the votes of his opponents?

This was the same thing that happened at kano when a House of rep member Doguwa while addressing some of his supporters threatened to deal with anyone who refused to vote APC...when he was asked on a TV station about the threats,he simply called it 'Banter'!
When the presidential elections had been done,he was alleged to have sent thugs to a political party office and set it on fire with the occupants inside!
Mc Oluomo is now following the same trajectory!
Saner climes where institutions work would have picked him up but here in naija,even a known thug is followed around by the same security personnel that is supposed to arrest such thugs!
I hope no one listens to his latest statement after being seen on video making threats to a particular region in the country or better still take whatever he is currently saying with 'a pinch of salt'!

Every 4 years selfish politicians keep whipping up this ethnic sentiment just to enable the people get distracted!

These same politicians know the importance of everyone's business in terms of improving Lagos economy esp that of the igbos!

But because the ethic slurs suits their cause and provides a free pass to achieve their political ambition,they won't mind spending a fortune to enable such narratives to persist!

When elections are over,the same politician will want to rule over all including the Igbos!
A simple tool of divide and rule!

Nigerians no matter their ethic profiling should be speaking in voice to challenge the status quo of criminality by these politicians!
However,the instrument of tribal bigotry has always been a more than adequate armoury in the hands of these few politicians to divide Nigerians!
