My thoughts about what might be in the box is in two folds...first is...ipeleng will nominate 4 Nigerian and 4 southy HMs for immediate eviction and the remaining HMs not nominated will go to the DS to save 2 Nigerian and 2 southy HMs... Second fold is that the box might contain one or two HMs that she will save immediately just like BBN LU when chichi saved daniella while the rest will be up for possible eviction at an undisclosed time or day! However,if the content of the box reveals that ipeleng will need to evict two or more HMs,then that will finally seal the fate of a boring show! Just my thought and opinion! |

Mylove55:The court never struck out the issue of electronic transmission of results! LP went to court to compel INEC into using e-transmission and the judge quoted the section of the electoral law that gives INEC the choice or discretion to determine which mode of transmission they will adopt! INEC later made the decision of which mode of transmission to adhere to through their guidelines and regulation where INEC stated emphatically that the commission will adopt electronic transmission of results from the polling unit! Once INEC had adopted a mode of transmission, they cannot ditch it for any reason whatsoever by using another mode or form of transmission! That will be like disobedience to their own laid down laws which is binding on them and the entire staffs of INEC! Mylove55:You are yet to define what Irev means hence the confusion! When there is a transmission of a property or material or information, there must be a start point and destination point! In the case of INEC,the PU is the start point and the destination point is the INEC server where the results are stored and people can view the contents of the results through a portal called INEC Result Viewer(IReV) The opposition parties case is that INEC did not upload the results directly from the PUs hence the integrity of the results were compromised! Mylove55:IREV is not mandatory to you because you do not know its meaning or its importance to the electronic transmission of results process! IreV is a portal where people view the uploaded results that come from the various PUs Like i explained before, transmission is the movement of a source or information from one point to another...in other words, there must be a start and destination point! Since its electronic transmission of results,it means the electronic movement from the PU through the BIVAS devices to the INEC server where all the PU results are stored and a portal called IreV is made available for an individual to access a PU result! The IreV displays what is stored in the server! Hence saying IreV is not important or mandatory implies you do not know how an electronic system works! Mylove55:This example you are giving is off point! NTA is at liberty to change a sponsored programme at will and show any other programme since they are a government owned property! However,if NTA were a private company with TV rights to show such match and they reneged, there will pay a hefty fine and their rights will be taken from them! Mylove55:lol Once again you still do not understand what a server is or what an IREV means! Try to get the meaning so that you do not confuse both! Mylove55:That's not my bone of contention! My argument is that the integrity of the election has been truncated because allegedly,INEC were unable to upload results from the PUs to the server in order for people to use the portal to view the uploaded results! |
Mylove55:It would help you greatly if you would stick to your first argument instead of prevaricating! Like i said before, most results were not transmitted electronically and INEC should have done the needful by stopping or cancelling the election if there was any alleged hacking or breach that may compromise the results instead of resorting to manual transmission of results!! Secondly, most of the results that were manipulated are still there! Some PU results from another state is being shown in another state! As for insinuating that the results from the opposition parties and that found on the server are not different, lets wait and see what evidence they will present! No need jumping the gun! |
Mylove55:Interesting! Firstly, what is IreV? What to you is a server? Mylove55:lol It would seem as if you misunderstand a party situation room,IreV and Server! In one hand, you are saying INEC ditched the usage of e-transmission and in another hand you are also saying INEC transmitted results to the inec server! Obviously,it seems you do not know the relationship between the INEC server and IreV! |
Mylove55:Inec stopping the e-transmission of results and using manual transmission for any reason whatsoever goes contrary to their guidelines and regulations....The only option available to them was to cancel the entire process and declare that the election had been compromised while seeking a new date for another election instead of continuing with manual transmission of results without informing the public! If this is Inec's argument, the election will definitely be cancelled by any court of law! |
Mylove55:Did a good job? Are you sure you know what you are saying? They failed in making provisions for their officers in terms of logistics hence the officials arrived at their PU centres very late! They failed to adequately transmit results from PUs as the officials had challenges with uploading results thereby compromising the entire electoral process! They failed to provide enough materials for many PUs across the country thereby disenfranchising many electorates! Even INEC admitted though indirectly in their earlier press briefing that they didn't fulfill they purpose for which they promised Nigerians! Most INEC officials were seem compromising the results by manipulating results due to the apparent absence of e-transmission of results! If that is what you refer to as good then i would need to check the meaning again to know if it has recently been changed to something else! Mylove55:Whether in the SE,or SS or NW or NE or SW or any other region in nigeria, the entire process was compromised the moment INEC failed to ensure the e-transmission of results from the polling units and the entire process should have been cancelled! Once again, you are deviating from the main purpose of discus....do you finally agree that e-transmission of results was mandatory as contained in the guidelines and regulation of INEC which is an extension of the electoral laws? Yes or No? |
Mylove55:Sorry dear but if humongous funds gotten from taxpayers were channelled towards getting the BIVAS and ensuring electronic transmission, the least expected from INEC was a near flawless election! The reason behind the electronic transmission of results from polling units was to ensure that the integrity of the election and independence of the commission was preserved! If INEC were unable to perform what was contained in their guidelines and regulations,it simply meant they conducted a disappointing and disgraceful election which should never have stood had the commission had an ounce of credibility left in them! Mylove55:You are still yet to provide me with proof that there was 83% electronic transmission of results on february 25! There were various degrees of problems aside INEC's inability to electronically transmit results! Most polling units had no INEC official hence no voting was done or When there was presence of INEC officials, the BIVAS was either not working or the voting materials were not enough for the particular PUs! Most INEC officials showed up at their respective centres with no material for the election and went back to the collation centre only to hear that results from that PU had been manufactured from nowhere and the results announced! In most PUs INEC officials came very late to their centres and in two hours they wanted to leave! All these are on INEC and they were provided with enough funds in order not to blame anyone! Overall, the election was a sham and the primary reason for many electorates who came out to vote which is believing their votes will count using an electronic means was truncated by INEC's inability to conduct a free and fair election! Mylove55:You still dont get it! Whose fault is it? The electorates or INEC that kept ponificating about how ready they were to deliver a free and fair election! INEC boasted about their preparedness and assured everyone that results will be transmitted electronically from all PUs in the country! If there were network failures or hitches, the guidelines and regulations stated explicitly that such PUs will either be cancelled and a new election held 24 hours later! So thats no excuse dear! Mylove55:Obviously you are speaking from a partisan inclination! However, the reason behind conducting a free and fair election is for all parties to realize that they were not in any way cheated! This was the reason for the BIVAS and the electronic transmission of results in order to give the election the needed credibility! Another reason why the BIVAS was introduced is to ensure transparency and a future reduction of court processes! Unfortunately, this was not possible because the election outcome was horrendously conducted and left room for election malpractices! If you claim the 2023 presidential election was the freest and fairest election since 1960,then i guess i am living in a totally different country from yours! Finally one point to note is that you have deviated from the main conversation and trying fruitlessly to hold brief for INEC....Have you finally admitted that INEC failed to uphold their own end of the bargain by disobeying their own laws that was stipulated in their own guidelines and regulations which is also as mandatory as the electoral laws? Yes or No? |
![]() |
Mylove55:Its not about what people will say...its about doing what is stated in the electoral law in constitution! Things must be done in the right manner without sentiments! Mylove55:Yes the court said inec can decide which method of transmission to use...that was why inec brought out their guidelines and regulations to make the electorates and parties aware of the method of transmission they have and will be adopting in the election which is the electronic means! This is contained in the guidelines and regulations of inec that carries as much weight as the electoral laws! Infact, the guidelines and regulations are an extension of the electoral laws! If inec believes they were not prepared for the method of transmission they have adopted, they would have simply postponed the election! Its that simple! |
Mylove55:The guidelines and regulations is an extension of the amended electoral acts! Its also carries the same weight as the electoral laws itself! Mylove55:Do you have facts that 83% of results were uploaded in the irev after voting was concluded on February 25th? Even the same irev wasn't even functioning on the election day as inec admitted they encountered issues with the inec server... Mylove55:Once again, your assertion if correct further puts inec in trouble and concludes the independent body disobeyed their own laws! The guidelines and regulations which is as mandatory as the electoral laws indicates that its imperative for results to be transmitted electronically from the polling unit! Once the primary transmission of results fail, the election is cancelled as the process has been flawed! Manual transmission implies that the results will be done at the collation centre which compromises the integrity of the results as we have seen so far in some states! Finally, if inec knew that the e-transmission of results was not possible or attainable, they should have told the public and outrightly postpone the election until they comply with their own laws! The disobedience of their own laws has just rendered the election null and void! |
On the contrary, having an opposition in the HOA is a welcome development which will put the executive and judicial arm on their toes! No more 'carry go' or the 'I's have it' type of politics where a governor becomes an emperor to the people he wants to govern! |
emerged01:The choice was contained in their guidelines and regulations! Inec had enough time to change their stance! Any last minute alteration should have been communicated publicly before February 25 which may have possibly led to a postponement of the elections citing their inability to adequately conduct an e-transmission of results! Mistakes or last minute disobedience of the own guidelines and regulations have grave consequences as contained in the electoral acts! |
emerged01:Discretion implies choice! This is why inec came up with a guideline and regulations for the 2023 elections last year where they specified their mode of transmission which is through electronic means directly from the polling unit! Any last minute alteration from their guideline and regulations will be seen as an act of disobedience against their own laws and there are grave consequences! |
Mylove55:This is not a matter of insults or emotions! Read the guidelines and regulations which is an extension of the amended electoral acts! If inec gave a contrary training to their presiding officers, then the commission has defaulted in their own laws of which there are grave consequences for such actions which may include an outright cancellations of the presidential election assuming you are right in your assertions! Peruse before commenting! |
emerged01:INEC made that discretion through their 'guideline and regulations' where it stated explicitly that the mode of transmission of results was through electronic means from the polling unit! |
IGBOSON1:The information is correct as the transmission of result either through manual or electronic means rest squarely on the decision of INEC which the commission had made in the guidelines and regulations of INEC and was released last year! In summary,INEC through their own guidelines and regulations, mandated the transmission of results through electronic means from the polling units which is in tandem with the amended electoral laws! |
Mylove55:Section 60(5) of the Electoral Act 2022 provides that “The presiding officer shall transfer the results including total number of an accredited voters and the results of the ballot in a manner prescribed by the Commission”. The use of “shall” here, it’s respectfully submitted, implies that the presiding officer must transmit the results as prescribed by the INEC Guidelines. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 3 June 2022 released the Regulations and Guidelines for the Conduct of Elections, 2022. The Regulations and Guidelines were issued pursuant to Section 149 of the Electoral Act, 2022 and the Regulations and Guidelines supersede all previous regulations and/or guidelines on the conduct of elections, issued by the INEC. The new Regulations and Guidelines cover elections and arrangements for their conduct, accreditation and voting procedure at elections, and collation of election results and making returns. They apply to the conduct of elections to offices of: “President and Vice President; Governor and Deputy Governor; National Assembly (Senate and House of Representatives); State Houses of Assembly; Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils; and Councillors of FCT Area Councils Legislature. Paragraph 38 of the Regulations and Guidelines, 2023 makes Electronic Transmission of Results and Upload of Results to IReV mandatory. The paragraph requires that when voting and announcement of results have been completed at a polling unit, the Presiding Officer “(1) must Electronically transmit the result of the polling unit to INEC’s collation system; (2) Must use the BVAs to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A result sheet to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV); and (3) [must thereafter] Take the BVAS and the original copies of all forms in a tamper evident envelope to the RA/Ward Collation officer in the company of security agents. Polling Agents may accompany the PO to the RA/Ward Collation Centre”. [See:Simplified Electoral Act 2022, and INEC Guidelines. FEBRUARY 22, 2023 <https://placng.org/Legist/plac-publication-simplified-electoral-act-2022-and-inec-guidelines/>]. Thus, the Regulations and Guidelines require that the presiding officer must electronically transmit the results DIRECT from the polling units, after which the results would then be taken manually to the collation centres. |
Direct e-transmission of election results is mandatory Section 60(5) of the Electoral Act 2022 provides that “The presiding officer shall transfer the results including total number of an accredited voters and the results of the ballot in a manner prescribed by the Commission”. The Regulations and Guidelines were issued pursuant to Section 149 of the Electoral Act, 2022 and the Regulations and Guidelines supersede all previous regulations and/or guidelines on the conduct of elections, issued by the INEC. |

bhella10:But didnt you read the narration of one of the victims? If the driver had listened to the pleas of the passengers to wait for the train to pass, the accident that claimed more than 4 lives would have been avoided! |
When a presidential candidate rightly said this unfortunate accident could have been avoided, some ignorant and misinformed urchins with no proper safety training awareness attacked and abused him! This particular incident could have been avoided had the said driver been patient enough to obey simple instructions along the railway! I hope the driver is not only arrested but also prosecuted and jailed to serve as a deterrent to other reckless drivers in future! |
wealthpreach:Fatigue ke Liverpool played crystal palace during the weekend while manutd played Newcastle Liverpool played wolves during the midweek just like manutd played westham So where is the fatigue that you claimed was responsible for losing with such margin! Even the players or manager will disagree with you! Instead of accepting the heavy defeat that exposed the weakness of the team including the apparent foolishness of the captain Bruno, you are making excuses for them! |
Sentiments apart,Obi is right! 90% of accidents that occur in Nigeria are avoidable if the right safety measures are adhered to! The reason why such incidence are probably a daily occurrence in Nigeria is because we do not punish those who are reckless and disregard simple safety laws! Look at the container that fell on a bus at Lagos, who has been held responsible or prosecuted? |
Before APC decides to become the mouthpiece of INEC,they must be reminded that the commission before the election insisted and made it mandatory on public forums including publications about the usage of an electronic transmission of results from the 'polling units' in line with the provisions of the amended electoral laws as contained in the constitution! INEC chairman had appeared on different media outlets including Chatham house to reiterate and re-emphasis about making electronic transmission of results imperative at the election. INEC or the chairman never at any point whether before or during the election say there will be only manual transmission of results! INEC never stated that they had challenges but rather insisted that they were ready with the transmission of results electronically! Since the matter has been brought before the court by the parties involved,APC should take a chill pill and allow the tribunal to do its job by correctly interpreting that section of the constitution rather than trying to second guess what the verdict might be! |
MuchAdo:The likes of Banky and other pdp including apc politicians underestimated LP and labelled them social media party! To them,it was a straight fight between pdp and apc! So those in social media decided to let them know that they can walk their talk by voting for LP from top to bottom! Everyone underestimated LP and the result is evident! Now governors are trying to align with the same people they regarded or labelled as social media party! In the end,Lessons will be learnt! |

1). Electronic Transmission (collation) which must be done direct from the polling units; and (2). Manual collation which would then follow after electronic Transmission. Note that the manual collation is the lower level of collation. See section 64(5) of the Electoral Act 2022
