A quick reminder to the Economist. Before time, issues of Kidnapping, stealing and killings were predominantly an issue in the South South and South East. The militants disrupted economic activities with kidnapping in South South and the get rich quick and build a house in the village criminals of South East made the East scary for people to travel to the East to invest and that is the reason why till date you hardly find investors who are not of Igbo origin go to the East to invest. They believed so much in high way robbery and 'blood money' just to get money quick, start a business and build a house in the village and also spend much during Christmas and most importantly New Year. The South West also had their issues with killing for voodoo purposes.

However, the North East started experiencing the same onslaught towards the end tenure of the Obasanjo's administration when Boko Haram was birthed. This continued till the first attempt of bombing started on 1st October close to Eagle's Square Abuja. The bombing was Coordinated by a southerner called Charles Okah.

This particular incident gave rise to the bombings by Boko Haram which was clearly sponsored by foreign countries who sponsor terrorism and other crimes just to push an agenda of distabilise the country. This was the genesis of the problems we have here in Nigeria.

The marginalization of Igbos talked about by The Economist is FALSE and holds no grounds as 45% of those given political appointments in the country today are from the South East region.
