I am yet to understand the role of the traditional rulers in the modern-day dispensation. Because the government still control them. The government can decide to pay them or not, the government appoints most of them and remove them at will, they follow the rules of the government.

Do people still regard them when they issue directives? Do people still have reverence for them? I remember the end sars period when the Igbos attacked the Oba in Lagos and took his staff.

What really are the true roles of the traditional rulers in modern-day democracy?

With the way lagos is beginning get cleaned up, i will advise state governors to start making efforts of accepting and accommodating their indigenes who left their states to crowd Lagos and claim they own Lagos or are developing Lagos. If the government of Anambra can send its people to come to Lagos and learn about the developmental patterns of Lagos as set by President Bola Tinubu and it is been executed by the preceding governors most especially in the area of water transportation. I don't think it is wrong for the Minister (Nigeria) and the IGP to also take some lessons from San Diego on how Policing and its operation is carried out.

I learnt the Minister and IGP also witnessed a live emergency response by the Police Corps when they received a distress call from a citizen. The way and manner the police acted upon receiving that call. How there was communication between the Police and other bodies involved and it was awesome.

We need such reforms in the Police and security sector of the country.

Police has to learn to respond swiftly when called. Not the one that there's robbery going on and they are asking what type of gun are the robbers using or they start blasting their Siren like one kilometre away so that the robbers will know they're coming and then they take off. Or the medicine after death approach which is coming after an hour when the criminals have done their work and left.

The police should learn from the best.
