concupiscent:Does the bible specify an age for marriage? Puberty is the deciding factor. This marraige you all rush to point out was consummated when she attained puberty. The bethrotal occured before her puberty at age six or seven and the consummation occurred sometime later when she had attained puberty. The onset of puberty varies among individuals. Puberty usually occurs in girls between the ages of 10 and 14, while in boys it generally occurs later, between the ages of 12 and 16. In some African-American girls, puberty begins earlier, at about age 9, meaning that puberty occurs from ages 9 to 14. Puberty is the factor considered in Islam. I personally disagree with marrying off girls at this age. But the prophet was all in his right according to the tenets of Islam. |
factsandfigures:If the Sango worshipers want to fight for their right. It has got nothing to do with us. They can do as they please. Good luck.to them. Practicing the religion appropriately is what matters. Verse (24:31) - Translation “...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms... What is the meaning of “khumur” used in this verse? Khumur خُمُرٌ is plural of khimarخِمَارٌ , the veil covering the head. Al-Munjid, which is the most popular dictionary in the Arab world, defines al-khimar as “something with which a woman conceals her head —ما تغطى به المرأة رأسها .” Fakhru ’d-Din al-Turayhi in Majma‘u ’l-Bahrayn (which is a dictionary of Qur’anic and hadith terms) defines al-khimar as “scarf, and it is known as such because the head is covered with it. So the word khimar, by definition, means a piece of cloth that covers the head. Then what does the clause “placing the khumur over the bosoms” mean? According to the commentators of the Qur’an, the women of Medina in the pre-Islamic era used to put their khumur over the head with the two ends tucked behind and tied at the back of the neck, in the process exposing their ears and neck. By saying that, “place the khumur over the bosoms,” Almighty Allah ordered the women to let the two ends of their headgear extend onto their bosoms so that they conceal their ears, the neck, and the upper part of the bosom also |
jerseyboy:Coincidentally I'm from Auchi myself. It is true there are large scale conversion to Christianity. This is however not based on the supposed barbarism associated with Islam or muslims. However it is the appeal that the new light allows spiritually lazy folks to proclaim Jesus Christ and involve themselves in haram acts. I've got friends who ran away from the hijab because they felt purchasing and binding hair products from Brazil and Peru is civilization. They see the niqab as a strain. They see observing five daily prayers a strain. Fasting in the month of ramadan a strain. They want to consume alcohol. They want to cast odds at gambling centres without people directing judgemental looks at them. I've actually met a girl who converted because she wanted to be with a xtian. And he couldn't be seen with her all "ninja-like" as he put it. I never stated that the growth in population of muslims stems from conversion. Although there are sgnificant amount of converts into Islam. Yes it is as a result of increasing birth rates in subsaharan africa and the middle east. Regions where Islam is a majority force. |
bughead:So Catholics aren't Christians. Could you state the denominations of christianity that are actually on the right part ? |
jerseyboy:Islam remains the fastest growing religion in the world today. Are we achieving that true brute force ? No!! Of course a majority of religions were spread through war, Christianity included. Islam remains the number one religion in Sierra Leone today. With 78 percent from the last count. |
Nairalanddist:Well to.this case tho. I think she knew what she was getting into beforehand. She should have made her protests earlier and once denied switched to something more acceptable. However those chanting praises for muslims who throw their hijabs away or shave off their beards just to be accepted are totally wrong. This life isn't our final.place. Allah doesnt listen to funny excuses like; I was trying to look presentable due to.my job ethics. So if you can't throw away your hijab. Leave the profession for them. Brother I was just going to say that. All these ; muslims are violent yarn is just annoying. Christians are pepetrators of genocides as much also. Hitler born and baptized in a catholic setting went ahead to send 6 million people to their graves. America invaded Afghanistan and Iraq on the bases of stoping them from acquiring nuclear weapons when the same America is sated with nuclear weapons. Or is it the Palestinians who have been constantly persecuted and killed by the US backed Israel. Of course the same people have termed those they persecute terrorist. And our dear nigerians just nod.their head since its anti islam. But when fanatics like boko haram strikes, muslims worldwide are blamed and Islam is castigated. Hypocrisy rules the mind of the average xtian on issues based on Islam. So you would find it a lot easier to draw water from a mirage than explain the deen to them. So just don't bother with them. They would never listen nor learn |
policy12:Well poverty is a terrible thing. It does affects the thought process of the afflicted. But in thid case though. He might enjoy the fame and her body. But na express ticket to Jahannam for am if he gets involved in haram acts against Shariah. Then all his private jets or her golden or is it diamond coochie wouldn't stop Allah's wrath. As always there are rich muslims who do not date models, drive gold Cadillacs or even galivant about purchasing european clubs when Yemeni children cannot drink clean water. |
ARTtitude:This would be a golden idea in proper climes. My broda at Op, if you no get the required financial and connection artillery to fight am run ooo. I hope you can run like Houdini, because if your school tag you as a cultist, every law enforcement officer go wan barb you to reap egunje. Not to talk of jail term. Not to talk of SARS |

godisgood200:Lady `Aisha (the mother of the believers, may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Messenger was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira’ where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food likewise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira’. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read." The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon, he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists), created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous. (Al-`Alaq 96:1-3) Then Allah's Messenger returned with the inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones." Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa ibn Naufal ibn Asad ibn 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Messenger described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Messenger asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Revelation was also paused for a while.” (Al-Bukhari) Waraqah was a pagan worshiping the idols at Mecca in the beginning of his life. He was one of four people who determined to forsake the idolatry of Quraysh and search for the right religion. This decision was at one of Quraysh’s pagan festivals. They were Waraqah ibn Naufal, `Uthman ibn Al-Huwairath, `Ubaidullah ibn Jahsh and Zayd ibn `Amr ibn Nufail. They decided to abandon the worship of idols as they deemed it contrary to every reason and sound understanding. Waraqah and `Uthman ibn Al-Huwairath professed Christianity. `Ubaidullah ibn Jahsh lived till the advent of Islam and embraced Islam. Zayd ibn Nufail kept to the remains of the religion of Prophet Ibrahim until he passed away. One wonder, where is in the historical texts stated that Waraqah was the teacher of the Prophet Muhammad? Which historians said that? What is the source of these allegations? What is the evidence? Who narrated that the Prophet would frequent Waraqah seeking knowledge from him? Where were the people of Qurashy, who fought the Prophet with every possible means and lost their greatest leaders in battling with Muhammad, from these claims? Had not they seen the Prophet Muhammad once learning something from Waraqah or repeating his words? Had not they seen him accompanying Waraqah? Yet, how many days and night did the Prophet spend with Waraqah? What is the likeness between Waraqah’s views and the Prophet’s ones? No answer comes but just groundless allegations and blatant lies brought out of concealed grudge and malice against Islam and Muslims. No evidence but real falsehood. |
bughead:I guess you meant moon (crescent) and star. Whichever you meant you are totally wrong ❎❎❎❎❎❎❎ There is no basis in sharee’ah for taking the crescent or star as a symbol of the Muslims. This was not known at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), or at the time of the Khulafa’ al-Raashidoon (the first four leaders of Islam after the death of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), or during the time of the Umawis (Umayyad dynasty). It emerged some time after that, and historians differ as to when this symbol was adopted and who was the first to adopt it. Some say it was the Persians, others say it was the Greeks, and that this symbol was somehow passed to the Muslims. It was said that the reason why the Muslims adopted the crescent was that when they conquered some western countries, the churches there had crosses on top of them, the Muslims replaced the crosses with these crescents, and the practice spread in this way. Whatever the case, symbols and banners must be in accordance with the teachings of Islam, and as there is no evidence that this symbol is prescribed by Islam, it is better not to use it. Neither the crescent nor the star are symbols of the Muslims, even though some Muslims may use them as symbols. As regards what Muslims think about the moon and the stars, they believe that they are part of the creation of Allaah, and as such can neither benefit nor harm people, and they do not have any influence over events on earth. Allaah has created them for the benefit of mankind, an example of which is seen in the aayah or verse of the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning): “They ask you (O Muhammad) about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage…” [al-Baqarah 2:189] The moon and star is a symbol from the Ottoman empire (Turkey) and has nothing to do with Islam. Neither do we pray to it or through it. We pray to Allah expressly who doesn't require an aid or medium to listen to these prayers. |
andrew444:Maybe I no know ball o. But there's no way that Coutinho wouldn't come out as our best player. He's contribution is number one. Mane is good too and so also Firmino. I like Mane it hasnt got to do with his skin colour. Afterall I'm black too. But Sallah has taken over this season. So if I'm to rate them. 1. Coutinho 2. Sallah 3. Mane 4. Wijnaldum 5. Firmino

szen:The only player that was worth it then was Luis Garcia. Compare that to the Milan's Shevchenko, Kaka, Crespo. Lets not even talk about the defence wey Maldini dey marshal that year. Milan Baros was good I agree but not to a world class level. Its almost the same thing now. We have an outstanding player in Coutinho (barca mo na leave am for us till summer abeg). Apart from him and maybe Sallah the rest just dey. I just hope we can prove that we are back.once again. |
sprintscr7:Liverpool is not useless. If we can keep oir current squad without injuries. We can play any of these teams. No be today we don dey use average squad dey do things. You can ask AC Milan. |
DOUBLEWAHALA:I guess cannibals start it at some point. You could travel there and flag off your ministry. Y are you folks like this. Someone burnt this bad and all.you can think of is eating up the remains. RIP........ |
Masha Allah. This is a reckless statement from Prof Ishaq and Muric. If Nigeria was a sharia operating government maybe it will stand. But this is barbaric in democratic setting. We muslims shouldnt take everything in hook, line and sinker. There are statements made erroneously by our clerics that tilts towards causing mayhem. This is no different from the supposed ideology that western education is bad as linked with the boko haram group. However intifadas can be organized by muslim groups in solidarity with the plight of the Palestinians. There is the Rohingya genocide. The Saudi Yemen crisis. If we want to look civilized as muslims. It should be evident in our words and actions |

shadeyinka:Of course.they were Jews. That's just their tribe. They practiced monotheism tho. This is the monotheism that Muhammad was sent to perfect and name Islam. Islam means total submission to the will of Allah. Adam, the first man practiced this. From then other prophet's have all preached monotheism and enjoined it on the people Allah sent them to. They were given books; Torah (David), Injeel or gospel (Jesus), Quran (Muhammad). This is why there seems to be similarity within these holy books. However we believe that these books have been adulterated. And this is the reason that the Qur'an was sent down to all of mankind to set them on the straight part of monotheism once again. You folks make it sound like Muhammad put together the religion of Islam. This is not true.... And Muhammad is no more than a messenger; the messengers have already passed away before him; if then he dies or is killed will you turn back upon your heels? Qur'an, 3:144 This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed my favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion. Qur'an, 5:3 I do have some sketchy points with my religion like the status of a woman in the religion but Islam still stands out amongst all. |
1Sharon:I've talked with christians who usually criticize muslims for learning bible points to enable them argue comparatively. Some of you here are quoting Quranic.verses and hadiths. This is good. It makes for a better discuss. To your inquiry tho. Allah's names abound in the Qur'an. A typical example would be Surah Al fatiha verse 1. Ar.Rahman (The Most Gracious) and Ar Rahim (The Merciful) are both mentioned. These are names of Allah. They are numerous. Al Majid, Al Ghaffar, Al Muhaymin. Muslims are allowed to bear a variation of these names which.has a prefix of Abd or Abdul. This signifies our servitude to Allah. For example Abdul Razaq means servant of the Provider. |

Owiedo una welcome. You left us here. You've met us here still. Its time to leave long distance trekking and concentrate on making our state better. I know some of them have been tortured and serially raped. Our Governor is doing his best to rehabilitate them tho. The truth is no matter how we criticize this country. There is actually no place like home. Why are we always the leading state in issues of human trafficking and illegal migrarion. Its not like Edo is the worst state in Nigeria |
pristinecreed:Jazakallah OP. This is informative |
Every time an act of terror or shooting occurs, Muslims closely watch the news with extreme trepidation praying that the suspect is not Muslim. This is not because these terrorists are likely to be Muslim but rather because in the instances where they happen to be, we see amplified mass media coverage and extreme unjustified hatred towards Muslims. As a Muslim, I am tired of condemning terrorist attacks being carried out by inherently violent people who hijack my religion. I am tired of condemning these attacks to people who are calm and apathetic when Muslims are killed by these same radicalized terrorists. I am tired of hearing the word “terrorist” not being used when the suspect in a terrorist attack is a non-Muslim. I am tired of the “mentally disabled” excuse being recycled when the suspect in a terrorist attack is a Caucasian. I am tired of seeing hundreds of terrorist attacks carried out by non-Muslims not get the same coverage of even a single terrorist attack where the suspect happens to be a Christian Above it all, I am tired of having to repeatedly say that Muslims are not terrorists. It is time we silence this Islamophobia with facts. 1. Non-Muslims make up the majority of terrorists in the United States: According to the FBI, 94% of terrorist attacks carried out in the United States from 1980 to 2005 have been by non-Muslims. This means that an American terrorist suspect is over nine times more likely to be a non-Muslim than a Muslim. According to this same report, there were more Jewish acts of terrorism in the United States than Islamic, yet when was the last time we heard about the threat of Jewish terrorism in the media? For the same exact reasons that we cannot blame the entire religion of Judaism or Christianity for the violent actions of those carrying out crimes under the names of these religions, we have absolutely no justifiable grounds to blame Muslims for terrorism. 2. Non-Muslims make up the majority of terrorists in Europe: There have been over one thousand terrorist attacks in Europe in the past five years. Take a guess at what percent of those terrorists were Muslim. It’s less than 2%. 3. Even if all terrorist attacks were carried out by Muslims, you still could not associate terrorism with Islam: There have been 140,000 terror attacks committed worldwide since 1970. Even if Muslims carried out all of these attacks (which is an absurd assumption given the fact mentioned in my first point), those terrorists would represent less than 0.00009 percent of all Muslims. To put things into perspective, this means that you are more likely to be struck by lightening in your lifetime than a Muslim is likely to commit a terrorist attack during that same timespan. 4. If all Muslims are terrorists, then all Muslims are peacemakers: The same statistical assumptions being used to falsely portray Muslims as violent people can be used more accurately to portray Muslims as peaceful people. If all Muslims are terrorists because a single digit percentage of terrorists happen to be Muslim, then all Muslims are peacemakers because 5 out of the past 12 Nobel Peace Prize winners (42 percent) have been Muslims. 5. If you are scared of Muslims then you should also be scared of household furniture and toddlers: A study carried out by the University of North Carolina showed that less than 0.0002% of Americans killed since 9/11 were killed by Muslims. (Ironically, this study was done in Chapel Hill: the same place where a Caucasian non-Muslim killed three innocent Muslims as the mainstream media brushed this terrorist attack off as a parking dispute). Based on these numbers, and those of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the average American is more likely to be crushed to death by their couch or television than they are to be killed by a Muslim. Terror is a global trend. Perpetrated by muslims and Xtians alike. It should be equally reported and criticized.

giles14:What christian minorities? I'm not a victim tho. The Palestinians are. |
Abbeybailey:As in I'm actually overwhelmed. Why does religion make us such hateful beings. Whats the difference between these folks and the gun toting boko boys. If hate could drive people to support monsters in human skin then its just a lost hope. The US has always played a big brother role in peace brokering between Israel and Palestine. But DT is going to turn it all out and incite fighting. Just because no middle eastern country can stand them militarily, if they would even stand with Palestine. The way we involve religion in our views is just not healthy. A lecturer of mine termed me boko when I put on jelaba and jumps to her class at Uniben. She said it in a playful mood but I'm 100 percent sure she wanted me.out of her class and probably out of life because of my supposed sin of being a muslim. |
jacyhelen:You need to grow up. Sense should come with age. |
So this man is at it again. How can any sensible person support this trash from Trump. The West Bank and Gaza remain illegally occupied territories. Yet what Trump does is to fuel the embers. I.am actually disappointed in xtians here who can.support barbaric acts like this just because its against a muslim majority country. You dont see this as terrorism now o. Until an intifada is held and Palestinians gets slaughtered. Then FFK and his ilk will be cheering bravo to Trump. You all are hypocrites. How do you support illegality. Na wa |
luxy44:Self deciet is a thing to laugh about. So "lol"on bro. When you are done you can pay a visit to the north and see things for yourself. Buhari will effortlessly destroy Atiku in the north. If you saw the Liverpool vs Spartak game yesterday, that would be a perfect description. He would defeat Atiku even in Adamawa. E no go hard am. They can both battle for the South West. And once that's done, those Igbo votes would be so chilled man. |
Livefreeordieha:Yeah. The place is really gone. There's really nothing like research going on. The labs are ridden with dirt. Only the palm trees tell the story of what was. |
Spaxon:We do have excess palm oil. The problem tho is milling. We still rely on ramshackle mills to extract the oil from the palm bunches. I did a project study at NIFOR here in Benin and you would be sorry to see the production rate and wastage at the local mills they are using. We really need to work on reorganizing these mills here and in other palm oil producing areas. |
ACHILLES45:I wonder what is up with you folks. Must you be bias with the truth. No be today our people for Edo here don dey trek sahara. Almost every average family in Benin to Edo north can boast of a daughter or son who has made that dangerous trek. Are you saying that this migration started post Buhari era. In that case you are telling lies. You folks always find away to link buhari to your own problems. When you all tell outrageous lies and dwell in corruption yourselves. Ive got three cousins who made that trek as far back as 2010. Two are in italy, the pride of their mom to hear her tell it. Boys who cant write a single paragraph in English. They of course send her money so she doesnt give a fvck. Afterall me wey sitdown my house no dey dash am money. Her daughter is back now with two children from God knows where. Why are we economical with the truth. No be we poor pass o.
