Mortal Kombat (2021). 5/10

The movie would have been better if they hadn't rushed the characters/movie. They weren't enough room to build the background story of the characters. The whole thing felt so rushed.

They'd have made the movie like MCU and DCEU-styled superheroes franchise. Get one or two acts and tell their stories in one film, then other acts in another movie and ultimately bringing them together in one movie for the ultimate showdown.

About the Oscars. . . I don't understand why Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield were both put into the supporting male role. If they both played supporting roles, so who played the lead roles in the movie?

I'm of the opinion that after the excellent performance of Kaluuya in Judas and the Black Messiah, they couldn't afford not rewarding him with an Oscar due to the terrific and brilliant performance of Hopkins in The Father or vice versa, hence placing him the in Best Actor in Supporting Role category.

It's all good. Happy for him.

My brother,no need to burst a vein on that anomalous fluke.
Leeds today played without their best player and still were scared.
Yet the bottler decided to start James and bench Pogba.

Lol.

They're still yet to answer if Ole cam be manager at a serious club in Europe.
Shebi Spurs have identified Brendan Rogers as a target, despite hom being committed to Leicester. Even NFF won't come near this shambling oaf of a manager to replace Rohr.
Or my darling Spartans of owerri and my evergreen KWASU Bombers of Ilorin and my Ranchers Bees of Kaduna.

Seriously if Ole cannot somehow contrive a win to beat this sorry ass Liverpool in a league campaign ,then he doesn't deserve to be a manager in the U-18s let alone the Premier League.

was it 100% "John wick esque"?
No. It wasn't 100% John Wick-esque. I'd say 50%. The similarity mostly to Wick was that he single-handedly took on the mob for large parts of the movie.

He had a family, John Wick didn't. He even had in-laws. If I give more differences, I'd be spoiling the movie.

LMAO. I've seen other series like Blacklist, Smallville etc., but those were mediocre series that I dumped midway into it.

The thing is, I only focus on series that have been praised for long. Top series that are loved by most people, that's why I've been able to watch those series. Last year that movies weren't coming out helped me too. I was able to find time to watch series since movies dried up.

How far suggest some interesting series for me na
I'm more of a movies person than a series person, so I'm the wrong choice for series suggestion. You're better off asking for suggestions at the series thread, can give you a link if you want.

But from the few series I've watched in my life, I'll suggest:

Game of Thrones
Broadwalk Empire
The Wire
Breaking Bad
24
Homeland
Line of Duty
Jack Ryan
The Bodyguard
Prison Break (season 1-2 only. The other seasons were poor)
Castlevenia (animation series)
Stranger Things
Now They See Us (miniseries)
Band of Brothers (miniseries)
For Life
Stranger Things
Peaky Blinders
Fargo
Narcos (3 seasons so far)
Queen of the South
Suits
Scandal
How to Get Away With Murder
Power
Power Book II

New Gods: Nezha Reborn (2021). 7/10

A much better and improved story than the crap animation they served us few months. This is a different storyline from the first two Nezha franchise. The visual was wonderful, storyline much coordinated and better fight scenes.

Well said. Bro.

I got nothing to add.

However, can you explain how you are in a state without cinema? Is it work or studies that carried you there?

If you hadn't mentioned indirectly that you are in Naija some time ago, I would have reasoned that you were based abroad.
LOL. I traveled home to visit my mum, haven't seen her in almost a year, and I would be back to where I live by next week.

That said, a lot of state in Naija don't have cinemas. You stay in Lagos with multiple cinemas so you don't know the plight of others. Others that do have initially, don't have anymore due to lack of maintenance culture or lack of patronage.

cc abduleez1_, abduleez_ dandenumeruno_ beorn1_
I currently stay in a state that have no cinema (though I'd soon be leaving to one that has), so even if I want to go to cinema, I just can't. And I won't travel to other states with cinemas just because of a movie. I'm not mad.

But you shouldn't use other people's disadvantages to mock them. That's tactless. Some people here don't have cinema in their town. Some do but due to financial constraint can't be watching movies in cinema. Naija is hard. Some people are still students feeding off their parents. Some do have the money but ain't freaked out about going to cinema. They'd go to the cinemas from time to time but it's not something they fancy.

The examples are numerous. So, do you and let others do them. Las las, we will get to watch the movies either in cinema or our phones.

When last did Man Utd qualified for consecutively champions league through the league. If Ole was employed immediately after Alex Ferguson, he will have been sacked for finished outside top 4 or for his failure to land a trophy but after Sir Alex Ferguson, we went from being a title contenders to just a big name club.

Only Man City in England will sack a coach for not being competitive, PSG and Bayern expect all their coach to win the league and compete strongly in the champions league. Real Madrid who sack any coach that does not compete strongly.
Not true. Totally wrong. Chelsea sack coaches for a living. If you ain't competitive, Abrahimovic will fling you away, even his club legend like Lampard. And it works for him all the time. Pochettino was sacked coz his team was not as competitive as in the previous 5 seasons while languishing in the 14th postiion.

Football is very dynamic, let Real Madrid to fail to qualify, challenge competitively or win any major trophy for 5 seasons, their objectives will change. Look at AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Not true once again. Madrid would keep sacking coaches till they get it right. They are too competitive to go the way of Inter or AC. When Madrid was failing to go past the R16 for many seasons, they kept sacking coaches and buying quality players till they got it right. They never stooped to the lows of AC or Inter.

Madrid sacked Capello after he had won the league for them simply because of his conservative style of play and his frosty relationship with some players. Madrid sacked Lopetegui after 5 months of hiring him. You don't know Madrid if you think they'd reduce their standards for any coach. Never ever!!

Your greatest manager spend over 466 millions euro in 2 years yet he could not win a major trophy rather he was shouting he is not being back. Your greatest has spend over 1 billion in 10 years, yet he has only 2 league title to show for it.
So, SAF is not even in the screenshot? Where are those haters that keeps saying Ferguson was buying trophies with unlimited spending?

Why was he not sack during those six seasons, this is to emphasize my point that trophy does not really show progress. Winning the league, Champions League those are what I consider as success rather than winning trophy that relegated Wigan and Portsmouth won.
Apples and oranges. Different clubs have different pedigree and ambitions.

Pochettino wasn't sacked in those 5+ seasons because he took Tottenham to a high pedestal they were struggling to reach before. Before, qualifying for UCL or finishing above Assanal was a rare occurrence for Tottenham, Assanal fans even has St. Totteringham Day for it to mock Spurs. Pochettino led them to back to back to back to back UCL qualifications, something that hadn't happened since EPL took its current format. He took them to a UCL final in an occasion he didn't buy a player and they moved to a new stadium. Those achievements are impressive and that's PROGRESS for a club like Tottenham. But Tottenham is not an elite club.

If Pochettino doesn't win trophies in 2 seasons at PSG, he'd be sacked. He won't be allowed to last long like he did at Tottenham. Tuchel won the league and took PSG to UCL final and he was still sacked. Shebi na progress? But why was he sacked? Ancelotti won the UCL for Madrid but was still sacked.

The pedigree of a club matters. While he made significant progress with Tottenham, that "progress" would be a failure at PSG. Club pass club. A coach's progress at one club is another coach's failure at another club.
