Alextaiwo, sites will quickly tell you that about 3 million Jews were murdered, but none will give you the estimated number of blacks that have lost their lives to the white colonization and slavery. They don't have the statistics because if they'd do, you'll shocked at how many of us died back in Africa not to talk of in their countries.

A lot of us would prefer to die a free man than live as slaves. Killmonger's words should guide you.

See this one talking. Can you beat that hulking beast called Mbaku? T'challa beat Mbaku

What if T'challa studied MMA/UFC? Do you know that most people, including marines cannot beat a professional UFC fighter?

For killmonger, it was a gamble.
LMAO. JeromeBlack, I swear you're confused sometimes. Weren't you the one some days talking about how "hulking beasts" type of humans don't stand a chance against "lean" type of humans in a fight/boxing?

Now that it's not Bale Batman being discussed, you've abandoned your support for Bale/Killmonger's physique and given the upper hand to the bulky Mbaku's physique that you overlooked before. Clown.

That's extreme bigotry.
Me, I don't see the debate between Pryme and Koice as bigotry. Just two strong opinionated individuals that won't agree with each other. Maybe theirs is light bigotry. grin grin

That is why I said it is difficult to grasp the technicalities of the argument unless you can think objectively.

There are evils then there are EVILS

between living as a slave with a tiny hope of freedom and being sent to a concentration camp and subsequently gas chambers to be used as a mad man's lab rat.

I believe one of the two is a lesser evil and any reasonable person will know which is which.
Both are evils, bro. While that of Jews might seen heftier to you, I'd like to let you know that the whites did more than just slavery, they looted our history, destroyed some of our cultures, massacred any of us that stood up to them. Many slaves were thrown off the ships on their way to Europe. Many died under hardships or lack of medical care. It's easy for you to see the Jews massacre as more deadly because of the statistics written. If you know the true numbers of blacks that died when the white invaded us, including those tortured or worked themselves to death, you won't be typing these opinions of yours.

The reason why you feel that blacks that were sold off are better off is because of how modernized and successful the whites have been, while our dumb leaders keep taking African backward. The blacks now in foreign country might be living in a much better and improved lifestyle than the blacks in this shithole country, but their forefathers paid for it with their lives, blood and sweat.
Google it and check back koice and pryme pages back.
I had Googled it before asking you. What I saw are two people who wouldn't agree with each other but are still not bigots. Koice might sound condescending sometimes without him being aware of it, but he's not intolerant of people's opinion to the best of my knowledge. Boko haram and the legions of Nigerians that approve the killing or jailing of homosexuals are examples of bigots.

Stop arguing unnecessary. I did not mean that he didnt know that he had the right to contest for the throne.

My point is that he couldnt have known that he would win against T'challa. Or even going back, T'challa could choose not to honor traditions as Killmonger was already too late. He could have executed Killmonger on the spot. See game of thrones....
Yes, T'challa could've chosen not to honor the traditions, but that doesn't mean that Killmonger didn't know he'd be successful against T'challa without powers if he honors the tradition. T'challa without his powers is just like everyone one out there. Nothing special for a US black ops soldier like Killmonger to be afraid of.

I only abandoned the argument because you lack the IQ to understand the technicalities of the argument.

If Arabs have been dealing in using blacks as slave since genesis, it is because their fellow blacks were also dealing in the slave trade.
For there to be demand, there must be supply.

Blacks are the ones who sold their fellow blacks out.
Hope you are aware even though the conditions of the black slaves were inhumane, there was still a tiny light at the end of tunnel because they were leaving their shithole for the slim chance of better lives elsewhere.

Back to present day, truth is bitter but it must be said.
Blacks will more often than not engage in social vices (drugs, fraud and the likes) when they get to the white man's land then turn around when they are stereotyped (not excusing this).

Can the same be said for the Jews?
Jews weren't given such luxury to be slaves in hope of one day buying their way to freedom.
They were outrightly executed not because they have a long notorious history of being criminals like the blacks but because of pure hatred.

I don't have time to write any more epistle.

Some arguments are best left for real time discussion.

I was crying in my heart reading some of the ludicrous nonsense you typed. How could you type such tripe with a straight face? SMH.

cc Beorn, Afrosamurai, koicereloaded.

You see why I am very angry and abusive towards certain people here when it comes to race? Just look at the comment from Alexistaiwo, a tyrpical Nigerian that has never traveled out of his country- a toxic mixture of self-hatred and ignorance.

Look at all the nonsense that this guy has written in bold!

Let me summarize his foolishness

-Slavery was a luxury
-12 years of Jewish holocaust is worse than 300 years of slavery
-Jews were real victims because they did not have a history of being criminals like blacks (his own words)
-Blacks slaves had hope because despite slavery they were in a better country than shithole Africa

This guy is the kind of guy that will blame a black victim of police brutality for wearing dreadlocks or being "disrespectful"
Some of the guys words were cringe worthy TBH. I couldn't believe he wrote about light at the end of the tunnel for people turned to slaves against their wills. Degraded, dehumanized, starved, killed, subjected to the worst form of inhumane treatment, had light at the end of which tunnel? huh
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 10:25am On Apr 18, 2019
JeromeBlack, I understand your umbrage about racism that blacks suffers. But I think you're letting your emotions cloud some factual reasoning.

While there were Africans that resisted the sale of blacks into slavery like Jaja of Opobo, there were other blacks that willingly sold their brothers for guns, money and other gifts the white could give them.

I'm not trying to absolve the whites of any wrong, but the blacks had their faults in that slavery horror story. The artifacts were looted as well when they took over our lands, but you can't count out that some dumb blacks must've exchanged some of them for some ammunitions, mirrors and other stuffs the white had to offer. But majority of them were forcefully stolen.

Movie discussion is different from series.

Discussing a new movie is tantamount to spoiling, while different scenario and twists occur as each episodes of tv series goes on.

Some arguments recently are just bigotry.

I skip some when i see what the argument is about tho, just wanted everyone to be guided.

I don't like the thread to be boring too but common up your games, don't be secondary school kids who argue about leadership of jl

And i enjoy bants btw kazeem and that spare part dealer.
How are arguments of recent, bigotry? What exactly is the meaning of bigotry? Because the definition I know of doesn't tally with your description. Or are people meant to have linear thoughts and acceptance of opinions?

I mentioned the discovery of America discussion as what i can at least class as intellectual discuss not that i like it.

What i mean is by fantasy argument is that one person kept saying Supes is leader while another one said batman is, something a little Google can solve, just like people argue blinding about football clubs history in the past before wikipedia started to blow their yansh. Yet as Wikipedia blow yansh, some people will still continue arguing that they are right.

If you think in your opinion Bt is leader then keep it with you, if you think supes is the leader keep it with you.

Arguing about it back and forth is no longer an intellectual discuss, it means such person/people are just BIGOTs.
People argue about a lot of things, things they're passionate about. I've seen people call us that argue football matches as jobless people. I've seen people call me a kid simply because I love animations. Same way I think anyone who sits down to watch or discuss the Kardashian family is jobless.

Different topics interests different people. I do football arguments but I don't do DC vs MC arguments. I find it childish. While I don't give a hoot about comics, yesterday JL debates made realize that Batman is the tactical leader of JL. It might not be much, but I learned something from it. We learn everyday.

What I usually do is skip most of those uninteresting debates, but they're inevitable. People will argue what interests them. The aim of an argument is to learn from each other or listen to other perspectives. People who go back and forth over an issue are not bigots, bigots are people who are intolerant of other people's opinions.

Killmonger went to fight for the throne. He had no way of knowing that he would be successful. After all, T'challa is a warrior on his own right.
Wrong.

Killmonger knew he's of royal blood and had the right to contest for the throne. He knew he's a Wakandian. He knew the traditions and knew he stood a chance in a fight with T'challa if his powers were removed according to the customs.

I have always maintained that people like ishilove are anti-intellectual. People not willing to use their brains but spite others for doing so.

Must we recommend movies everyday for them? Don't they know that beggars cannot be choosers? Ishilove, are you paying us to recommend movies?

If you don't like arguments on this thread, kindly go to Google or other websites to look for recommended movies.

This entitled behaviour is disgusting.
I follow the Series thread, but you'd hardly ever notice because I don't comment. Despite the spoilers, debates and arguments that goes on there, I've discovered tons of good series to watch like

Condor
Jack Ryan
Line of Duty
Breaking Bad etc.

I discovered them by just reading the posts which includes pages of arguments and discussions. From the arguments, you'll be able to discover series that will suit you. I don't enjoy all the discussions there but I know it's inevitable and moreover, reading through them will guide me in my series choices. Movies have been dropped here every week, they just choose to ignore them.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 9:41am On Apr 18, 2019
If we're to follow the true definition of this thread, no movie should be discussed, rated or listed. Everyone should ONLY list the movie he's currently watching, nothing else. If you're about to start the movie, don't tell us, if you're done with the movie don't tell us either.

Only the movie you're currently watching.

No movie suggestions at all. Let's stick to aim of the thread and see how that would pan out.

you people are eating up pages.

Not cool to come here and see 5 pages of opposing opinion on fantasy which doesn't amount to intellectual discuss.

Discussions about who discovered America a few pages back was cool till it got exhausting with i too know.

I thought you people have agreed on a motto here.

Agree to disagree
Which of the movies we watch are even non-fiction/real? If we're to go with your benchmark we'd be discussing only movies centered on true stories. Discussion about who discovered America had nothing to do with movies but you enjoyed it because you found it interesting. Exactly what I've been trying to point out. That discussion about the discovery of America you enjoyed, someone else took it as "page eating" as well.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 6:56am On Apr 18, 2019
Movies have been dropped by some people, some pages back, Koice dropped some movies suggestions when he was asked. If only movies suggestions were to be the posts on this thread, this place would be a deserted island. New movie don't come out every day so don't expect everybody to be listing movies all the time.

There's no sensible new movie out for download except The Lego Movie 2 The Second Part, and not everybody would love that movie. So where else do you expect us to drop list of new movies from? From the sky? Or should we be dropping senseless new movies so that you'd still moan about how it sucked after watching it? How about you drop your own list or must others drop movies for you?

If you want movies to watch, list the genre and tag someone like KoiceReloaded, JeromeBlack, Mekaprime, Oyaskii etc, they'd help out, not coming here and feeling self-entitled to new movies list all the time like debates about movies is new here or that you haven't had your fair share of movies discussions in the past. I do find the dick-measuring contest between DC and MC fanboys very irritating but I won't act like they aren't other people who drops movies ratings while the madness raged on.

You do realise that killmonger wanted to bomb the western world with Wakandan technology?

Racism also played a part in his villainous motivations.

It's subtle enough that certain Nigerians who know nothing about race will miss
Blah blah blah.

Some serial killers suffered some psychological abuse from their mothers or watched their fathers maltreated or cheated on by their mothers as a child and developed hate for the female genders. Nothing subtle in Killmonger's upbringing that any human with a functioning brain would miss. Next!!

Is that the question that I asked? Was it straightforward that killmonger was also a heir to the Wakamdan throne?
You're asking this question because you haven't seen Nollywood productions where the prince's uncle's son, or the king's concubine's son came years later to claim the right to the throne. Predictable _shit!!

Classic strawman. I never said that the plot of black panther is fantastic.

The beauty of black panther's plot lies in its simplicity and effectiveness.
So why the hell were you arguing with me that the plot was straightforward simple (predictable) and nothing great when you've just conceded that the plot line is simple?

BP's greatness comes from its cultural significance mostly and not this twists and turns you're displaying here. The movie plot-wise, is just there.

TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 10:13pm On Apr 17, 2019
JeromeBlack, you'd go dig up my post on BP when I first rated it. I am very pleased about the making of the movie. I recognized its significance to the black race, it's cultural significance to the blacks.

But I won't come here to act like it had a fantastic plot that blew me away just because I'm black. That BS.

JeromeBlack:
Are you mad?

Killmonger is one of the most sympathetic villains in comic book movies.

You should be ashamed as a black african that you cannot understand the deep motivations of killmonger in the BP movie.

Killmonger grew up on hate as it was stated I the movie. He grew up as an abandoned black kid in the ghetto with no parents. His African tribe neglected him while his American roots consisted of racism and poverty.

He fought wars for a country that did not respect his humanity and his race.

Killmonger even delivered one Of the most iconic lines in comic book history-

"Just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, 'cause they knew death was better than bondage"

A lot of Nigerians do not understand anything about racism. Shame.
Oga, all these one na epistle. Nothing about Killmonger's upbringing that's special. What's so deep about his motivations that we haven't seen before? Abeg, BP had a simple Nollywood-esque plot and no matter of iconic lines makes Killmonger special. He's a one-dimensional villain.
